Has anyone been contacted be Disney about ground transportation? I had a voicemail on my cell phone and an email to setup DCL ground transportation.

I thought it strange because we did not book air or hotel through DCL.

That picture of the lanyard is adorable!! :thumbsup2

I'm glad we're getting some! Thanks Jeff and ebony! :goodvibes

Yes they called me today as well. They also wanted the name of our hotel in Barcelona too, so that they could contact us if necessary. We leave in 22 days.:grouphug: That gives us 8 days to get to Barcelona. Hopefully enough time to dodge volcanos.

Hi

They contacted me also for transportation.
What is strange is I used to have transportation with them but since my flight back is early, I was told by a CM to leave the ship as early as possible (with my luggage) and that if I stay with them, I would have had to wait for the bus to be filled. So I canceled (almost on their suggestion). And today they call me back :confused3

Hmmmm, I was told one carryon piece of luggage, *plus* one "accessory", and that a handbag was considered an accessory. And that's what the website says.

I guess I'd better call & check again. I know the number of free checked bags went down from 2 to 1 to/from the US if you booked after March 1st. grrrr..... Why does this stuff have to be clear as mud????

Sayhello

I was told the same thing. Hummm, very annoying.

We can condense one bag because we weren't going to fill it so we can bring souvenirs on the way back. But I guess the question is, can I take a standard 21 inch suitcase on the plane.

If not, it's really not worth packing as lightly as we are. If you hear anything, let me know.

I can not believe how many pages we are up to! I feel like everytime I come to check in I have to read 20 pages!

I can not believe that we are so close to leaving, I am so not prepared! :scared1:

We still need a hotel for May 14th, any suggestions that are reasonable, close to port, that still has availability?

I feel like there is so much information to learn and not enough time!!!

My group still has 1 spot left for 2 of our tours if anyone is interested! If interested please email me as that would be the best way to contact me- leelee9878@aol.com

Wow! So much to catch up on in just a couple of days!!

I heard our Cruise Director will be Brent!
:cheer2: Brent is great! I definitely prefer him over Clayton.

Are you going to Montserrat? I just went there last week, it is amazing. Wear very comfortable shoes, lots of uphill walking and if you go hiking some of it is dirt and rock trails no cement. But, it is beautiful, I took 350 pictures in one day up there.

We're staying in Barcelona for 4 days after the cruise and we're definitely heading there!

I will send out the finalised lists tomorrow (or maybe Saturday at the latest if i get caught up with work tomorrow) and a few instructions like when and where to notify me of any room changes onboard on embarkation day.

Thanks for all your efforts. I'm looking forward to seeing all the creative things people come up with!

Is there any interest from people on this thread to do this? The skipper is the owner of the yacht and he comes for free. I was thinking 8 people in the morning 9:00 - 1:00 and 8 people in the afternoon from 1:00 - 5:00. The cost is 350 euros for the day that would equal about $30 per person. The eight people would just need to agree on what they wanted to see and do.

AlohaJoe23

Joe - do you know if he can take us to the blue grotto?

I got a call from Melissa the DCL Palo Private Dining coordinator just a few minutes ago and she said......All 3 Groups are Approved! :cool1::dance3:party::jumping1:

That's awesome!! Now we don't have to do a mad dash to Rockin Bar D on embarkation!:banana: Thanks for organizing!

I looked into Iberia and decided not to fly them because of the carry-on issue. They do allow a carryon plus a person item, but the size of the carry-on is 55cm x 40cm x 20cm according to the webite. That's about the size of a lap top bag but the usual carryon size.

Ok, so that translates to 21.7 inches high, 15.7 wide, and 7.9 inches depth, which is standard carryon size right?

To add more confusion, I just spoke with Iberia again and they said the carryon only has to weigh less than 23 lbs.

Yes. I guess it's close to a standard carryon. The website says 10kg so, it's about 22 lbs.

It's near the airport, not the port, but Renaissance Barcelona Airport has availability. If you have AAA, they have a deal for 99 euros. They have shuttles from the airport and to the port.

Wear them...just a way to recognize/get to know one another. If you'd like a lanyard/name card either post it here with the first names of those you'd like to have one and we'll also put your DIS name (dvcspain) on there or send ebony a PM.

Here's a picture of the lanyard/name card auntlynne sent me just so you get an idea of what we're talking about.
