Hello everyone! We are going on this cruise!:cool1: This will be our first time in Europe, 8th time in Disney Cruise. All "tips" will be appreciated! We are planning to visit Paris after the cruise, I need hotel... Any suggestions??? Also, I already "pre-booked" the shore excursions, since it is our first time we don't want to miss anything!!! We want to be included in the FE List. :woohoo:

Looking forward to our super vacations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the cruise and our thread here andgone! :welcome:party:

Jane/tripodjw will add you to the FE list. Can't help on the Paris hotel question but perhaps there are others that can. Check out the cruise web site for information gathered and shared. If you'd like me to add your DCL excursions to the Excursion page on the site, let me know.

I stayed at the Hotel de Saint-Germain 50, rue du Four, 75006 Paris, France a couple of years ago. It was small but suited my needs and it was close to the Metro stop.

I had a friend that stayed at the Best Western Tracadero and was very pleased with it as well.

Welcome to the thread!

The one family was offered an upgrade to a oceanview room for $131.00 per person. Now for a family of 4 that would be a good chunk of change. But for me Im wondering if I would actually take that or take my chances with a inner room. Hmmmmm something to ponder. What would you guys do?

I'll take a free upgrade but I'm not going to pay for one.

I ain't turning down a free one, either. I *might* pay for one at the port if it was reasonable, but I don't consider $131 a night reasonable. And it might be more than that with the single supplement...

Sayhello

It's $131 a person so for a solo that would be $131 total for the whole 11 days.

I thought I read it was $131/person per day so for that family it was over $3000. :scared1:

Yep, here's the post
Okay, so I just checked for a room assignment (which I do obsessively) and there was a little bar under it saying I could upgrade to a deluxe oceanview for 131.00 per person per day. That would be 3900.00 for us. Seems expensive. Either way, they must be close to doing room assignments if they are offering the upgrades now.

See what, if anything you get for free, if you still want to upgrade, check what the cost would be on Embarkation day.

Wow, that's a lot! I'll just wait to see if we get a free upgrade. Think how many excursions/souvenirs that can buy. :goodvibes

Jeff do you or anyone else know if there are any diving trips at any of the ports? My DSIL would love to go diving. Thanks

Hi everyone,

Just want to say quick hello!!! I am new to this board. I started to read this thread tonight, and was on page 7 only, and thought I would jump to the end and say hi first, before I go back and read the rest later this week.

I wish that I discover this board before booking my air last night!! I know I am late to the board, but we booked our cruise on 3/8, booked our airfare last night, and have yet to book hotel at Barcelona. That will be the next step. :cool1: I feel quite behind, and a bit overwhelm, compared to some of you who booked the cruise a year ago!! But better late than never!!

Looking forward to the adventure!

Never too late to book a Disney Cruise. Don't be overwhelmed, there's loads of great info here on the boards and if you have questions just ask, wither on the main DCL board or in this thread. There's a fair few experienced DCL cruisers who will almost certainly know the answer. :surfweb: And the cruise is still 2 months away. pirate:

I booked 2 months out last year and had ample time to organise everything including airfare, hotels, FE's door magnets. And a DCL cruise doesn't haven't to be uber-planned like a WDW trip can be. Just go with the flow! :cloud9::hippie:

Yeah that is nuts!!!

THat is pretty nuts. Sounds like that upgrade price offered was just the normal prce for changing category of rooms.

I'm considering upgrading at the port. It depends what i get allocated for my GTY and what is available on the day (and how much of course ;)).

I've worked out by extrapolating from the current upgrade prices for the 7 day magic cruises that a cat 12 to Cat 5 or 6 should be around $1200-1500 per room for the whole cruise (The 7 day upgrades at port are around the $800-900 range)

If that pans out for pricing then i will seriously consider upgrading, as we saved $2200 by downgrading from our cat 11 booking to a cat 12 when the gty prices were released. I figure if i was willling to pay that amount extra in the beginning to be on the cruise (and only for a cat 11) then i am willing to spend up to that amount for a decent port upgrade.

I think Malta would be the best port for diving. I believe there are lots of diving centres all over Malta and some in Valletta itself. As far as I know Malta is renowned for visibility while diving.

I'm only PADI scuba certified so far but i'm planning to do Open Water this year. I'm also planning to do divequest at Epcot on my next trip to WDW.

Does anyone know how much the rainforest passes are? I'm trying to figure out how much I'll need to put away for them!

Wow! This is a very active board. I was not following for more than 2 weeks. (recovering from my lasek surgery). We would like to join the FE. So excited! We are not very familiar with it. Will check the link to try to make one.
