Hello everyone,

Our first family trip to Disney in May is approaching and I am getting more excited with each day. I have put together some PS meals for the trip and I'd like to get your thoughts about them. DS is 4 and DD is 5. We are staying a split stay at CBR and then WL. CBR is first four days and WL is last three. Please give me your thoughts regarding the following:

SAt arrival (around 6pm) - Chef Mickey's Dinner
Sun (early entry MK) - Ohana's dinner
Mon - Cinderella's Castle (yahooo!!!) Breakfast
Tue - ?
Wed - Arrive at WL - Hoop Dee Doo 7:15
Thur - Whispering Canyon Dinner (this is Seaworld day)
Fri - Storybook Breakfast Epcot (may cancel though)

Do you think it's too much? I am tempted to bag the Chef Mickey Dinner and do breakfast first thing Sunday. Even though it's early entry day, there is no way my kids will make it to the park by 8am, so why not kick off the 1st day of Disney with a Mickey breakfast! Then I would move Ohana dinner to maybe Tuesday. I only want to do one a day, could get pricy plus may loose a lot of time seeing other things.

I also hear LTT is good. I am also thinking of doing Fantasmic dinner if the packages are still running then.

Any thoughts?

Thanks much!

Hello there Jersey neighbor! Looks like you are hitting the restaurants that your kids will really like. I think all of you will love 'Ohana. Lots to eat, good variety, and some fun activities for the kids. I hope you take some time to walk around the Poly grounds and out to the beach--the scenery is beautiful.

I don't think your plan is "too much." We don't have kids and make it a point to try as many restaurants as possible, but our eyes are often bigger than our tummies! We wind up sharing an appetizer and ordering an entree each.

As for Chef Mickey's first night, you might be too beat from traveling to go all the way to the Contemporary (inter-resort transport can take forever, unless you have a car). I hear that CBR has a good food court and the new full-service restaurant Shutters is getting good reviews.

If you start out Sunday at Chef Mickey's, you can hop the Monorail to MK.

We have not done much counter service, but you should have no problem finding something for everyone at reasonable prices for your others meals. Hey, we're from Jersey so WDW prices do not give us the "sticker shock" others seem to experience.

Hope you all have a fabulous time. We are thinking of doing the CBR/WL split for our next trip. Please post a trip report when you get back.

That was great! Thanks.

I laughed about the sticker shock! You got that right. I think we live in one of the highest cost of living areas in the country so Disney should be a savings huh??

I will definitely post my experience. We should exchange e-mails so we don't have to communicate via board. I'll send you a PM with mine.

Take care and enjoy the beautiful day today in the Northeast!

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!!!

jerzgrl,

agree with barbeml that planning is always good. good thing is PS, except the one with Cindy, can always be changed if you see something new you like.

Regarding the Chef Mickey, I would also agree with barbeml that to take everything easy on first night of arrival and leave Chef Mickey for the breakfast. CBR's food court has just recenlty be renovated. So, I believe it must be good.

If you are staying at WL, perhaps you should dine at Artist Pointe, if a sitdown meal is okay for you kids. O'hana is a very nice restaurant for family, and for sure you will have a great time!

I really like the idea of going the Chef Mickey's the first night. You will have to eat dinner anyway and the kids will be too excited to rest. They will love seeing all the characters at CM's. And then afterwards, you can go up to the viewing area and watch the MK fireworks. This is what we did our first night and it worked out great! Have Fun!

We love to do CM our first night. We did this the past two trips and thought it started the trip out great. The kids were so excited we had to do something Disney the first night. Unfortunately we will be arriving too late this year.....

"Sticker Shock".....good one. Try living in the Poconos :earseek:.

My DS4 would kill me if we didn't eat at Chef Mickeys the first night. I get him all excited that we are going to see Mickey, so he'd better see Mickey on the first night. :)

Your plan sounds similar to mine for May:

Saturday (arrival) - Chef Mickeys
Sunday - MK early entry, Crystal Palace with Pooh for lunch
Monday - Cindy's :)
Wednesday - Pirate Cruise

So far, that's all I have. We will definately be going to O'hana's, Whispering Canyon and Rainforest Cafe - just have to figure out when.

As far as the post on Artist Pointe, it is a very nice restaurant with good food. However it's not the best for kids.

Don't cancel the Storybook Breakfast! It is wonderful! In fact, we liked it better than Cindy"s! Just our opinion!
