DS has been accepted into one med school this fall and his orientation falls right in the middle of our WDW planned annual vacation:headache:He is accepted into two others and on their wait-lists...if one of those spots come open it will NOT interfere and we can go as planned :thumbsup2 Please send some magic our way...we understand totally med school comes first, but come on...PLEASE have one of the wait list spots open up before mid July which is when I would have to officially cancel :littleangel: Stay tuned as I will have some preemo ADRs available if we do have to cancel this one:rolleyes:

Why not move your vacation to a week earlier?

So your son is going to base his med school decision (which one to go to) on your WDW vacation? Seriously???

Wow...

med school should come first. I would choose where I want to go not based on where I get to go to school. Next 10 yrs, he wont be able to go to WDW anyway. My brother has been in med school for last 10 yrs, man its crazy.

I agree! I have heard of some mixed up priorities but really, you have got to be kidding.......

Let's see life long career decision that doesn't come along everyday vs a silly vacation, yeah that's a hard one.

Let's see spend time at a resort that will prob always be there? or Getting one step closer to your dream? I mean surely, he didn't spend all those undergrad years studying just to get accepted to Med School and then decide to go to Disney? :confused3 Really? Come on now.

I think you need to be encouraging him to pick the best med school regardless of your vacation. The vacation can always be re-scheduled....would his decision really hinge on the vacation??

He's going in to med school so he is obviously an adult. Why not just take someone else along, like a friend or family member?

You should be proud and thrilled for your son!

I don't think this poster can be serious. There are so many factors that would go into deciding which medical school to attend, if one is fortunate enough to have a choice of more than one. I cannot imagine that the orientation schedule conflicting with one's parents' Disney trip would even be a blip on the radar. :lmao:

OP your son is an adult. There comes a point when our kids have their own lives, work, other commitments, etc. and can't come with us on vacation. I think medical school=that point.

Congratulations to your son on his achievement! :thumbsup2

I have a friend whose daughter applied to 11 med schools and did not get accepted anywhere.

Stay out of your DS's decision. Do not pressure him in any way.

I would find out when the others are and reschedule the trip so it doesn't conflict with any of them. Personally, I would want to go at least a couple of weeks before needing to go to school so there is time to pack and prepare before moving.
