I understand UK schools are on holiday the last week of May. What does that mean in terms of crowds at DLP? :confused3

We are booked at Sequoia Lodge that week and didn't know about the holiday, as we are from the U.S.

Not all Uk schools are off (Scottish schools certainly aren't we come off early July this year and don't get a mid term) I would think May would be quieter because it would be before the summer hols

I think it will be busy, I'm afraid, as not only are schools in England and Wales on holiday but it is a Bank Holiday weekend as well - this means that the vast majority of the country have the Monday off work as it is a National Holiday. People like to take that week off work as they only have to use 4 of their annual leave days.

As the visitors from the UK are the highest number in the Park after French visitors, any holiday times in the UK are likely to make Disney more busy.

Fifi Rose I'm originally from very close to where you are from, and until I moved to England 5 years ago, I didn't think English half term holidays made much difference to holiday resorts.

I've changed my mind though :) ! Even when half term holidays are split in England and Wales (ie some areas have one week, some the next) especially in May and October half terms, popular holiday destinations get much much busier. It seems to be very popular for folk in England and Wales to head off on family holidays on their half terms.

Gayle, I've never been that May half-term week myself but one of my friends did a couple of years ago. She thought it was busy. Well, maybe it was compared to her previous trip in February but I begged to disagree once I saw her photos ~ there were very few people in the background and even gaps in the people lining the parade route down Main Street!!! :rotfl:

Even if the parks are very busy, you will still have a great time. Use EMH to get in the park early and then fastpass. I do this in August when it is very busy and rarely wait longer than 20 minutes for anything. :wizard:

Hi - we have been that English half term week - not last year,
one before - the weather was wonderful and it was only busy on the Saturday.

We made good use of EMH and fast pass anyhow - I am not a fan of unnecessary queueing!!. And we got to see the parades by picking a spot only 10-15min in advance... so that shows how quiet it was generally...
