May Discounts?

I have a bunch of questions.

We will be arriving May 6th 2002 staying 12 days. Will there be any discounts in May? I have the Disney Club card and I am thinking about buying 1 annual pass. Should I book now. (We want to stay at the new Pop Century or the Coronado Springs.) If I book now and a discount comes up that is better what would the procedure be to get the discount. Cancel everything and start over again or do you just call and request the discount. Is it worth getting the package deal with all the magical wishes with the food included. I know it would be more convenient, is the convenience worth the extra price?

Any help would be appreciated. We don't go on big vacations much the last time was in 95 and we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and I can tell you we spent a lot of money. I just don't want to waste it this time.

There were discounts for may in 2001 both DC and AP.

Book now! You will probably get a better discount at the Coronado (in the future), just because pop century will be new(no discount, till they see the ressie flow), but you could get ressie at each and transfer your deposit upon the best discount.

3 Cancel everything and start over again or do you just call and request the discount.

No, use CRO (not Disney Travel co) and just call and request the discount, done it ten time plus. With CRO there will be no trouble getting the discount.

Absolutely no, do everything individually. You lose money on the packages everytime. I've put a pencil to it, it hard to eat $55 each worth of food a day even at the most expensives restaurants.

You have plenty time to plan...... get your room now......, then ask question here. We love to help WDW lovers save dollars, have wonderful memories of Disney vacations and get the most for their money spent!

Thank you for your help. Now I have a foundation to build a vacation upon.

Just wanted to add one note - I had put my deposit on mastercard and they weren't able to transfer it when I got the AP discounted rate. If I had paid by check or Disney Charge (maybe AMEX?), they could have transferred the deposit. It really wasn't a big deal, though.

I think deputy disney gave you very good advice. I've also priced out the packages and I was very surprised at how much we would have to eat if we did the package deal.

Have fun planning!

Excuse me for being Goofey but what exactly do you mean by CRO? Is there a special website to order from CRO or is it the one that is on the main home page of this web site?

Central Reservation Office (CRO) 1800828-0228

CRO has a 5 day cancellation policy, one night deposit.

Disney Travel Co(DTC) (BOO!HISS!) has an outrageous $100 deposit in ten days and pay remainder of lodging cost within 25 days(?),i.e. you pay the balance long before you arrive. And it take 60 days to get your deposit back if you cancel...... and if you cancel within so many days of arrival you can lose part or all your deposit! Are you getting the impression that I am not enamored with DTC. Good. I love Disney, but DTC really needs to straighten out and fly right!.....OK, I feel much better now, thanks, I needed that.....................::p

Now, back to Love, joy, peace and Mickey Mouse.... I alway use amx, Disney will take your deposit with them and Disney Charge over the phone, very convenient and B3ML is right on.;)

And alway ask for CRO even with the number above, sometimes they seek a DTC or double agent in.:smooth:

Deputy Disney you have been a great help to me. I think I am going to change my name to Happy
