We will be in Orlando from May 4-7 (Saturday, Sunday, Monday). I had originally planned to stay at RPR to take advantage of the early entry and express pass for Universal hotel guests. Now I am thinking we will stay onsite at Disney since the rates are significantly cheaper for our party of 5. If we go to IOA on Sunday or Monday this early in May, do we even need the early entry pass? I thought about switching resorts on the last night and checking into RPR for one night, but it would be a hassle for us. What do you think? We would definitely get there for park opening and head right over to WWoHP. Thanks for your help and any suggestions!

I've been in May for the past 3 years the first week of may and its pretty good.... crowds pick up as the day goes on and there seems to be alot of school groups. Be there for rope drop and head to Harry potter first and all the big ticket rides like hulk, spiderman and death drop and you should be good
Google Universal calendar and click on the 12 month calendar site by the orlando informer and it will show you crowd levels. No need to stay onsite it is nice but not necessary.
Good Luck!

Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays are busy. Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are much better.

Fridays in May can be intolerable with school groups.

It sounds like you might be going afterwards but I just wanted to throw out that Grad Bash is May 3 & 4 and the parks close at 6PM for the hard ticket event. GB is in both parks so there will be lots of kids on those days as well as those nights. You definitely don't want to go on May 4th.

Thanks for your help! Glad we will not be there during the Grad events. Sounds like we should be ok for our dates.

the Grad Adventure this year will be May 10 & 17th.
both fridays.

middle schoolers can enter the parks at 4:00 pm.

the Grad Bash will be on April 12-19-26-27
also on May 3 & 4.

I would stay away on those Fridays/Saturdays for a few reasons.
many pre teens and many teenagers from 4pm to midnight.
