MAY Countdown!! This is it, folks

I will be going the week of 5/21!

I am a little stressed about Grad Days/Nights that I didn't realize were happening when I booked. However, I will have 6 days in the parks, so I guess I can make it work.

I am holding out hope that Al's report on a June opening for Carsland/Buena Vista St. proves to be wrong or that there will be at least a soft opening that last week of May. If not, I'll just have an excuse to go back sooner than later. :)

Yay for May!! The DBF and I are planning a trip in May as a graduation from college type thing, and it'll be our first trip with just the two of us! :D And if all goes well I think I may have a surprise for the DBF! :cool1: Hehe but anyways we aren't sure when we are staying yet we kind of want to do a 3 or 4 day weekend type thing but with grad nights and all it might be an issue :confused3. However, we plan on flying out there for the first time and staying at the HOJO's! :D Hope to see some of you guys!

My pleasure! I have to say that our first visit was rides only (after a wonderful WDW Xmas vacation when we had a lot of parades, shows, the works!) it was a marvelous change to enjoy the parks and go ride after ride.
But now I'm looking forward to see WoC and Aladdin, we didn't get a chance to see neither last time (Aladdin was in refurb). We also arrange our days (we're including 3 days at San Diego too :yay:) so we'll be visiting Tuesday-Friday, last day to see fireworks (hopefully!) and Aladdin, while WoC is schedule on a Wednesday. I'm too soo excited!
I know DLR is more laid back, but I still rearrange the itinerary every other day, I'm such a Disney obsessed! :rotfl:

Oh you will love, LOVE Aladdin!! We did get to see that last time and it was incredible! As good or better than a Broadway show! We got super lucky and managed to snag the very first row seats on the left main floor. A procession goes though and they danced right by us! You should have seen the look on my daughter's face! :D GREAT show! I adored WOC too! I actually cried while watching it! It was that good! The kids loved it too! Can't wait to see it again! Pretty Disney obsessed here too! :D hehe

I just booked May 3rd-6th at Hojos. It's my first time at Hojo's. Whoohoo for the retro rate!

It will be my second solo trip and one of six Disney trips in 2012! I went two weeks ago, going back for Leap Day, Easter at WDW, and WDW again to see the new Art of Animation resort. Bleeding the premier pass dry!!!
:woohoo:

Hi! Added your dates on Post #1. Don't be stressed about GN! You're going to be 6 days at DLR!!! :woohoo: with a good plan, you will be able to see everything!

Hi there! also added your name! Wouldn't it be great to have a way to identify DISers at HoJo?? there will be a lot of us! :thumbsup2

I just booked May 3rd-6th at Hojos. It's my first time at Hojo's. Whoohoo for the retro rate!
Yay to that! thanks to the retro rate we will have more money to spend on goodies! :worship: Welcome aboard!

Tentatively booked for May 20-26 at Hojos!!
Hi!!! added you as well. :dance3:

Soaring, Count us in for May! Staying at HoJo May 17-21. Myself and just 2 sons 13y and 15y (short my 3 adult children-took everyone last June for a week). Looking forward to some special time with my 2 youngest.

This will be our shortest trip to the Land ever as well as the smallest family group. We usually roll with 6 (myself and 5 kids) so just three of us will be a change! First time we don't have to split a churro 6 ways!!!:rotfl:

This is our first time at HoJo. We arrive Thurs 4pm LGB, chill relax and DTD...considering an eve in DL just to wet our whistle and start the Magic! Fri-Sun in the parks and hopefully another morning on Mon before we fly out at 4:30.

Thinking that this late in May some Carsland activity might be a trip bonus! Not counting on it but would love a sneak peek if there is soft opening while we are there.

We're getting pretty close to the 100 day mark. :cool1::cool1:

I'm going to be at WDW next weekend for a quick birthday trip... at least that will tide me over until May! ;)

I'm taking my daughter on a mommy and me trip. She thinks we are going to WDW and we are, we leave May 16th. The real suprise is May 21st we leave WDW and head to DLR for 5 nights. She has been wanting to go for quite some time, so I just decided to do both. I can't wait to suprise her:wizard:

I have no idea where I am staying. I'm waiting to see if an offer comes out for my dates to stay at Disneyland Hotel or PPH. If not, I'll end up at Candy Cane Inn or Camelot Inn.

HockeMomNH you're sooo lucky!! I can do a trip every 2 years, and it might take some time for us to come back, so we'll enjoy every single minute of it!

Hi there! Wow! a coast-to-coast vacation! You rule! :goodvibes: I was thinking today how much I miss WDW and whenever we'll go back??
Your dates are on as well. :dance3:

I'm headed out there the same week, but I thought Grad nights miss this week. I saw it for the 16th and the 30th. Did I miss the other dates somewhere?

Just booked our tickets! Flying into LAX on 5/16 and staying at the HoJo for 3 nights before heading down to San Deigo for 3 nights. Still need to buy our tickets home.... So excited!!

 good for you!! it's a great feeling when you spend money, ain't it? :rotfl:

So I was thinking, why don't we share where we want to eat? We might end up with new ideas :grouphug:

I so wanted to try Carnation Cafe, but it will be closed :sad1:.
I want to mix dining not only in the parks, but in Downtown and Gardenwalk.

Disneyland
I'm thinking in Blue Bayou, for once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Also Riverbelle Terrace for breakfast, maybe Hungry Bear or Bengal BBQ.

DCA
Paradise Garden Grill sounds like an excellent option! If not, Taste Pilot's Grill.

Downtown
They have several good options, even better than the parks: Jazz Kitchen Express sounds delicious! and both La Brea Bakery sounds pretty good too.

Gardenwalk
I would love to try several restaurants here, but with DMIL not being a good walker, I don't think we'll be able to try more than two: PF Chang's and Bubba Gump.

What would you have? popcorn::

We are booked from May 20-22 at the VGC. Never been to DL before but are grizzled veterans of WDW, having been DVC members since 1993.

Kind of bummed out about the Matterhorn being down but hoping for a soft opening of CL while we are there. Its likely we won't get back again so keeping our fingers crossed

Since it is all new to me, I may not be the best one to ask. I'm going to Minnie and Friends breakfast, Goofy's Kitchen, Surfs up Breakfast, and I'll try to sneak in Storytellers Cafe. Other than that, I am open to suggetions. My 9yo just informed me that she mostly likes American or Asian foods. So I plan on grabbing snacks during the day, and eating an early dinner.
