OK...I know that everyone in a room must be on the same package...does that mean everyone on the same reservation (different rooms) must be on the same package? I've searched for and read numerous threads, but can't seem to find a definitive answer. Which also causes me to be a little concerned that this may be a really dumb question with a really obvious answer...sorry!:flower3:

Here's my situation...my family of 4 and my mom will be arriving on 10/4 (2 separate rooms with DP). My brother's family of 4 will be arriving 10/5 (another room NOT on DP). I'm guessing no because of the dates and DP differences, but is there anyway this can be booked under one reservation? Just thought that might give us a better chance of our rooms being in closer proximity.

Second question...my family already has tickets, but will be purchasing one-day tickets to get the DP. My mom will need an 8-day ticket. Will I be able to do this when booking since we are in two different rooms? If not, will I be able to book us all with one-day tickets and then upgrade hers to an 8-day upon arrival? Would there be any penalty for the change? Or will we just have to make two separate reservations entirely?

I know I could call and ask a CM all this, but I had 2 different CM's give me the same misinformation about something on our last trip and had a heck of a time getting it straightened out. Just thought someone with experience and/or knowledge here might be a more reliable source. TIA for any help!:)

I think you can all get one day tickets and then she can upgrade hers at the park either before or after she goes in. You wouldn't have to upgrade everyone's.
When you check in, before they give you your room, politely remind them again that more of your family is arriving the next day and that you would love to be very near them. They'll likely assign you to neighboring rooms if it's at all possible.
Pixie dust for you!

You can link your reservations all together through Grand Gatherings. Last year we went with 2 other families, but we arrived one day earlier. I called Grand Gatherings and had our reservations linked together, and they blocked our rooms together.

And yes, you can book everyone one day tickets and upgrade hers only.

Register as a Grand Gathering.

When my family went a couple of years ago, we spent our first night at Pop Century before heading over to BWV to stay in a grand villa. Since we were only staying one night, I didn't make any request concerning the location of our rooms; however, a couple of months or so before our trip I received a call from one of the Grand Gathering coordinators - she called specifically to connect our rooms.

We had three separate reservations for four different hotel rooms and the GG coordinator linked them all. Now, if they are real busy they may not be able to do this or have a chance to review your reservation; but I think that it will help.

Thanks for everyone's responses and the suggestions of the Grand Gathering! Now a question about the GG...are you required to purchase any of the special events (i.e. the Safari Dinner or Fireworks Voyage)? I would actually love to try these, but my brother's family is on a pretty tight budget so I don't know that they would want to spend the additional money if it were a requirement for booking.

If you register as a GG you are not "required" to do anything. This just lets the room assigner know you are all traveling together. As for the GG Experiences, at least 8 guests over the age of 3 must participate. I did the Magical Fireworks Voyage last year and it was so much fun and worth every penny!

Thanks luvdisney! I almost wish I hadn't started looking into this...after reading about the GG experiences, I want to try them all! Sounds like the way to go...thanks again everyone!
