May 9-13 Trip -- Wait List Came Through! Worth Trying for better view?

DH and I are going to WDW from May 9-13 without the kids for his 40th birthday. We used our points to book a studio at BWV, but DH wanted to stay at BLT (our home resort) but it was not available). Well, a little over a week later, the wait list came through and we got a lake view deluxe studio at BLT. DH is happy (although he got used to the BWV idea and now isn't so sure of course) but I was wondering:

(a) what are the "lake" views like? We've only stayed once in a "Standard View" at BLT and had a view of the pool from the 2nd floor.

(b) Is it worth getting on the WL (and spending the extra points ) for the MK view?

Any opinions on this would be appreciated!!!

We did 2 rooms in Sept, the first 2 nights was a MK view 8th floor. Our last night was a Lakeview room. It was the very end of the 14th floor and to the left was a perfect view of MK. (not quite a true MK view, but there was no problem seeing the castle etc.)


We did like the MK view room better, but in the future I dont think I would use the extra points.
