We are going to WDW May 7-14 and I know the new celebration starts May 5 any Ideas if the park will be super crowed the following week?

Welcome to the DIS. I think the crowds are expected to be busier than normal for early May. However, I don't think you'll find it to be wall-to-wall holiday crowded.

May 7th being a Saturday will probably be crowded at Magic Kingdom (Saturdays always are), but other than that it's been mentioned on a couple other threads that Disney said reservations aren't really up for the time of the start of the 50th Celebration (starts May 5th) I'll be there May 9th thru the 13th and I was worried about that, but so far it seems like it's going to be ok crowd wise.

DW and I will be leaving WDW on May 6, so I anticipate crowd levels dropping significantly due to our departure.

:rolleyes1

We will be checking in on may 7th also and really hadn't thought of this till I started cruising the boards a coupla weeks ago but Maybe everyone else thinks oh no way the opening of the celebration

Maybe , ????

I'm thinking only real true blue Disney nuts will want to be there for the official start of the celebration on Thursday May 5th and then hopefully they'll all be gone Sunday, leaving the parks to us! LOL!

I mean the celebration does go on for 18 months, I can't believe THAT many want/have to be there for opening week.

I did call Disney reservations though and found out there are rooms available at Pop, All Star, POR and the Poly still for the week of the 8th. That's gotta be a good sign right?

My neighbor just made all of her plans for May 8-13. She had no problems getting any of dining PS, and there was plenty of rooms still left, believe me, we checked them all for the best price. We are going the same time, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! :flower:
