Day Six- Thursday at Sea
On this trip: me(33), DH(32), friends S(25) and J(22) from Orlando
Day six already! Oh, the time does fly. We had Palo brunch this morning at 10:30. Palo brunch is my absolute favorite meal on the ship. It is so so good, you MUST go! They have a gorgeous buffet full of breads, meat and cheese, seafood (including fresh shrimp and crab legs), pastries and much more, plus you can order all the hot food you want. We had pizza, chicken parmesan and risotto but there are many other items to choose from. They also give you champagne or mimosas and there is a huge dessert section! To die for. I ate absolutely everything I could
Alexander was our server. He was very good. I would push empty plates aside and he would come over and say "what would you like to eat now?"
After we stuffed ourselves, we went out to deck ten for some photos. The weather was simply beautiful and the ocean looked so calm and so blue!
We headed for the pool after that. I fell asleep at the adult pool for about half an hour, then we moved over to the Goofy pool to watch Finding Nemo. Halfway through the movie, DH decided he wanted to play the final game of Bingo, so we went to the Theater to buy our Bingo cards. The jackpot was up over three thousand dollars, but on our last cruise it had gone all the way up to five thousand! The theater was very crowded of course, because everyone wanted to take home three thousand dollars, or more likely use it to buy another cruise
I ordered a BBC (those things are my favorite) and we sat down right up front with some of our ship friends. Travis was answering random questions from the audience to kill time before starting the game. I thought it was funny every time he said that "green was the color of grass", in his best british accent. Oh, Travis
Once again we didn't win. The girl in front of us won $600. Why can't I be that lucky??
After bingo, we went to the room and fell asleep. We woke up in time to go to the 6:15 showing of Disney Dreams with S and J. I went up to Goofy's and asked for some chocolate chip cookies to munch during the show. I asked for three and he gave me a whole bowl full
so we all ate yummy cookies while we watched the show. DH and I had already seen it several times (I do agree with the other Disers who have noted the lack of variety in the onboard entertainment) but we still enjoyed watching it- at least all the performers were different. I think it's a very cute show, but I do think it's time to change it up!
After the show we went up to get some photos with formal Mickey and Minnie. They looked so cute! The lines were pretty long, but they move quickly. Then it was off to dinner at Parrot Cay. It was Martin and Annie's (our table mates) anniversary. Sandor brought out a cake and we all sang to them. Then we found out Martin was a magician and he did several magic tricks for us. That was a lot of fun. By this point, we all adored our table mates- the eight of us actually got along famously. We decided we would all go to the 70s party together.
At the party, J got picked to be one of the Village People- the sailor. He looked like the boy from the cracker jack box.
There was a lot of dancing and they had a Gloria Gaynor contest that was pretty funny. We left a bit early to get to the dessert gala! It was me, DH and the Canadians. None of us were hungry but we really couldn't pass up a whole dessert buffet. There was a pretty long line, but once again, it moved quickly. The desserts looked amazing! We tried a couple of them but the best thing by far was the chocolate fountain. They had strawberries, bananas, pineapples and marshmallows for dipping. I had two plates full, which ended up making me sick. i just don't know when to quit!! But it was so very delicious
Had to get to bed after that. Ugh, so sick!! It was worth it though.
