Heads up - both parks are closing at 5pm on Fri May 6th and Sat May 7th.

If you don't have early entry into HP, especially on Saturday, you could run out of time to hit everything you want too.

Reason for 5pm closings: Grad Bash 2011 which runs from 7pm-2am BUT there is a "pre-party" at City Walk beginning at 5pm too...... so beware of that too!

My daughter's grad bash at Universal is on April 30th, so it may close early that day as well.

It will also be closing early on April 15th.

I will be there for Grad Night April 15th. And I'm a part of that group going to a City Walk pre-party, I'm sorry we teenagers bring you to tears lol. :)

My school's going May 6th. I'm not going, but I'll probably be working the event. I'm actually really scared, lol...

Fridays in May can be very busy with school groups.

My son's school group is going May 13th....he's 6th grade. I'm wondering if I should volunteer to chaperone LOL

there's a 5pm closing on friday, may 13th as well. it has been determined that the reason for this early close is the middle school (8th grade) grad bash. i'd love input on this, as my husband and i are booked at RPR for wed-sun of that week, which includes that friday. we are also both teachers--i teach 8th grade--and cannot imagine being there on the day of middle school grad night. it kind of makes me want to die, to be perfectly honest.

so...my question is, what should we do? cancel and go to disney? or the beach? we have plane tickets, so we'll be in orlando...just maybe not at universal. can you tell i'm bummed about this? :sad1:

The kids won't be there early. Go and do your early entry and whatever you want until about 10. Then head over to Universal. I would imagine most school groups there for the day will be going to IOA first. Do Universal for a few hours and then spend some nice relaxing time at the pool or in Citywalk.

You won't see many kids going that night until after park closing and that will be mainly at CityWalk. Gradventure starts at 7pm at both parks and it's a hard ticket event so I doubt any of those kids will be there during the day. A park sweep is done at closing to clear out the parks of day guests. I believe there is a pre-party at CityWalk but I don't know what that entails.

Yea, our school is doing IOA, and we're leaving here at 8:30, so we won't be there and in the park until around or after 10. We're due to be back here at 6:30, so the 5pm closing sounds nominal, for our day anyways.
