I think a kilt would be great!

DH is active duty Air Force and wears his Mess Dress (military version of a tux) for formal night and I wear a long dress. He wears a suite for semi-formal night and I wear a cocktail dress. I tried to find pics, but the only ones I have from Formal night are the ones we purchased from DCL and I can't get my scanner to work.

Thanks so much for the pictures Danielle. You all look fantastic and your princesses are so cute! As long as there are a reasonable number of people dressed as lovely as your family, I am sure that DH won't feel out of place in his kilt and then I get to dress up in my long dress :cheer2:

Hi everyone,

I am just interested to know how 'formal' you are all planning to be on formal and semi formal nights? I love dresssing up and don't get to do it very often but formal wear for DH will be his kilt and he will not be happy if I make him bring it (the whole outfit is quite heavy) and everyone else turns out to be a lot more casual. Haven't cruised before so really don't know what to expect.:)

We do the full formal thing.:thumbsup2
I has seen many kilts worn, last cruise I saw about 6 or 7 on every formal night. And I promise not to be a "kilt flicker" !:lmao:

Thanks Annie. Have decided the kilt is coming and reassuring to know that we won't be the only ones dressed up! Definitely no kilt flicking....DH is a true Scotsman!!;);)

No windy walks on Deck 4 for you guys on formal night ;) We had some friends want me to bring a kilt back for them last time my DH was in Aberdeen. I told them that they had NO concept of how expensive that stuff is!! LOL

I am VERY ready to hear some new news about the Fantasy and what other possible changes from the Dream we might have to look forward to. Animators sounds like it's going to be fun. Did anyone else get the idea that there will now be 2 shows in AP rather than just the one? :goodvibes

OUCH... Found us on page 4 or 5 !

Let's get this chatter goin'.

Plans for this month??? Besides getting kids ready for school??? Last minute visits to some place special???

Ok... Howard and I are headed to Phoenix in the 12th to see a Diamondbacks game on the 13th. They are playing the NY Mets. What a great way to spend a 40+ year anniversary:cool1::cool1:
Couple of weeks ago we were at the game when D backs played the Dodgers... it was home town playing home town. Since we've lived in AZ longer then California... we had to go with the D backs.... and we won 4 to 1 !

Annie:cool2:

No kiddos in our house so not much going on this month other than dreading the back to school traffic! :rotfl2: Commuting into Houston is a nightmare when the schools go back.

Annie - Congrats on the 40+ years. :goodvibes My sister lived just outside Phoenix for many years and I spent a lot of vacations in Arizona - never made it to your neck of the woods though.

We live in PA. and this past weekend we went to DE. for the weekend. We have family down there. We also went to Ocean city MD while we where down there... I noticed an thread on here about the Fantasy. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2770369 It says that the Fantasy will be in NYC 4 days prior to its MV. I think I may be sick that day so we can drive the 1.5 hours to NYC...

Jenny... all I can say about myneck of the woods...dont come here in the summer!:scared1: We go to Phoenix and Las Vegas to cool off:rotfl2:

Kristi... awww, go ahead and take a few days off. And then post lots of pics for all of us:thumbsup2

Ann:flower3:

Ann - Houston is in the low 100's this week with all that humidity, so I would be glad of high heat and low humidity myself! :goodvibes There's a reason AZ and TX have a huge number of snowbirds though ;)

Kristi - That would be SO cool to be able to see the Fantasy sail in/out of NY -:cool2: you will have to keep us posted if you think you'll be able to pull it off.

Another day, another dollar....HOW long til our cruise?? :lmao:

We would like to partipate in Fish ears (FE). This our 6th cruise but first with Disboards.
Let me know what we need to do.
Just give me your Dis name: GerriS
All names in your room: Gerri & Mike
Ages of kids....No kids this trip
And your room number: 8570

Plans for this month: I am leaving on Sunday to take the girls to see their grandparents. We will be in Ohio for a week visiting my parents, then KY for a week at DH's parents. By the time we get home there will be one week left before meet-the-teacher day, then 2 days after that school starts (the 31st).

This summer has FLOWN by!! DH was originally scheduled to deploy for 4 months starting July 21st, but it got cancelled. We took several mini-trips early in the summer visiting family and a couple fun places in preparation of him leaving. It made those months go SO fast! I'm so sad for summer to be over!

We also just found out last week that DH will be deploying for 6 months starting Oct. 1st. We were afraid that this would happen when the last deployment was cancelled. We'd really just like to have that other one back, LOL! The good news is that he will be home in plenty of time for the cruise!! He should make it home in time for Easter.

Also, since I know I'm not the only one who does this - I checked our cruise on the DCL site and it is now $1652 more than what it was when I booked (for the same # of people, same room cat, etc). I told DH that between booking early for the cruise and knowing about the military discount for WDW, I've saved him nearly $3000 on our vacation next May!!

I can't believe we're just under 9 months!!!! Nine months from now, you'll find me sitting on a lounger (hopefully, if one is available) with a drink in one hand and my kindle in the other!:cool1:

Here's a link that I found on the Dis Cruise site to the port canaveral camera that I've been watching all day! http://portcanaveralwebcam.com/
