Amy: I can help with one thing - you won't need beach towels - I sure wouldn't mess with them. Take a deep breath in and out in and out :).

Sorry!! Life is crazy here.

I put one sharpie in a gallon ziplock with a pillow case and dropped it off hte first day on the ship. THey took my name and room number and returned it to me signed the last day on the ship. :)

Ive been packing and fretting over what to bring for the baby.

We will be onboard one week rom tomorrow!! Leaving this sunday for WDW. Woo.

Whew! Got it all packed! I think we are ready. We are leaving in the morning so we will see y'all on the ship! Yippee :woohoo:

Are we the only ones left at home :(. My dad is in the hospital (he is 88) and failing so we might not make this vacation :(. If we don't - we will be thinking about everyone!

Happy and save travels.:sad1:

Kathy,

Some of us are still around. I am so sorry to hear your father is not doing well. It is hard to even consider leaving when someone is ill.
We aren't leaving until Tuesday morning so let us know if you will be able to make it.

We'll be thinking about you all.

Oh no!! I will keep him in my thoughts.

Well we leave tomorrow for WDW. I hope to see you all after the boat drill on deck 10 for the sail away party. :thumbsup2

Thanks - and now my poor sisters have mom in the emergency room with a possible blood clot - when it rains it pours! We live 4 hours away so I am happy they are both there to take care of things and luckily one of them is a nurse.

What an icky day.

It started out great. I was relaxed, confident I didn't forget anything. We got on the plane with no trouble. Then we got to the rental car place. There was no way 4 of us and 5 suit cases were going to fit in the car we reserved.

Soooo.... instead of walking directly to the car we wanted and leaving, we had to wait in line for about 20 minutes then explain the situation. The guy behind the desk upgraded us to a small SUV for the "price of a sedan".

We get to the SUV and I look at the paperwork. (insert expletive) The car was going to cost us 200 for the week. The SUV however was going to cost us a little over 500 dollars!!! Argh. By that time I was so tired I figured I'd straighten it out later.

So we get to CSR. Get our room key, and walk into the room... there's luggage on the floor, and food, and things hanging in the closet area. I called the reception desk. They made a mistake. Our beautiful pool side second floor room was assigned wrong and now we are on a ground floor room facing a bush. The bush does face the water... guess that's what they call "water view" huh? So we get unpacked head over to the Pepper Market. We haven't eaten since oh 10 or 11am and it's 630ish. I can't understand what the waitress is saying. I go get the first thing that sounds good on the menu and see that it is 12 dollars for a plate of food. Luckily we have the dining plan.

After eating we head over to the check out. We end up in the line where the person is new and the manager is grumping at her because she didnt ring up the dining plan correctly. We get moved to another checkout and leave.

Then we change and head for the pool. DS was so excited about the water slide at CSR. He walks up to it as they close the gate. The slide closes at 8pm. So we went swimming anyway.

We are back in the room now and have no water to drink or make bottles with. DH ran out to find a grocery store. the meal plan doesn't include breakfast and I wanted some fruit to carry with me during the day.

Now I am trying to research how we can take this expensive arsed car back to the airport and use some other transportation for the week. Im not having a almost $100 a day SUV just sitting in the parking lot while we are on the cruise. But how else do you get four people and five suitcases to Port Canaveral from CSR and not have it cost $500. Just today and tomorrow the rental will prolly be $150.

:confused3

So tomorrow will be better. Everything will work out. *breaths*

Why did we want to go to WDW and not just go on two cruises back to back?

Sorry to be so negative, just needed to vent and I feel better now.

Bless your little heart!
Relax and remember to breathe-- slowly.
In, hold, exhale...punch pillow. Repeat, avoiding DH, DS, and DD in the process.

I have great fear our suitcases won't fit in our rental either. But, I am a tree, I bend (remember that from the boss problem last month?). And that infamous quote: That which does not kill us makes us strong.

See you Thursday.

Okay, I called my insurance, they extend full coverage to a rental.
I made a new reservation for an suv for the week for 180 dollars at National.
DH just left to return the SUV we have to Avis then walk to the next desk to rent from National we should be at Epcot by 10am. :D

I called avis an the charge will be approximately $70 for the time we did have it.

Lesson learned. Don't use AVIS. Cost for my mistake?
$70

Now on with the magical vacation!!!

I made a new reservation for an suv for the week for 180 dollars at National.

Wow! That is a great rate; how did you get it? Their posted rates online are similar to Avis. Hope your trip only gets better... :wizard:

I posted to the forum thread for last Thursday's Wonder cruise and have seen the first trip report from one of their passengers. You can see the trip reports from zerog and learn that the weather was choppy, seas somewhat rough, a little bit of rain, but..... they ARE showing POTC3 on board:

"At 11pm, they were showing POC 3 in the Disney Theator. My wife took my DS, but he fell asleep after about 15 minutes. For the portion of the movie that was seen, my wife stated that it was interesting watching the movie while rolling with the ship - kind of a 3d effect."

pirate: Arrrrr, woot!

Mal, it does look like we are in for some wet stuff. According to a couple of sites, winds and 70-80% chance of rain (they are even talking thunderstorms one night) Fri. and Sat.

But I look at it this way, there's plenty to do on the ship, we have POTC3 popcorn:: and we aren't at home or at work.:rotfl:

No, I am not a Pollyanna, if I have no control over something, I have to make the best of it.:goodvibes

Who leaves next? we leave at 6:00 tomarrow night for the airport.I am still packing,I am down to shoes, toiletries, a carry on.I am officially done with work.I think I am kicking everyone out for a few hours to the ymca.

A gray girl:so sorry about the car.All of us fitting is one of my fears.

We head out in the morning about 8:30-9. Dropping dogs at kennel at 7:30, picking up rental at 8, back home to load and go. We just want to miss Atlanta morning traffic (and afternoon, and evening). I have to be at the kennel when they open to make this work smoothly. The rental place is about 10 from the house and the highway is 3 minutes from the house.

Let's see how well it really works. We have finished packing everything and now it is just odds and ends (do you really need that?) to tidy up.

We don't leave until Wed. I am actually sitting in my office - pretending to work. Not a bad thing the boss is letting me work today in exchange for Wed. The weather really won't bother me - My motto "A rainy day on the Disney Wonder is better than a Sunny day at work." Just want a few hours of sunshine so mom can enjoy castaway cay. Agraygirl - hang in there... Sometimes, I am sure we need a vacation from our vacation. To those leaving tomorrow - Have a safe, trip and can't wait to meet all of you on Thursday. POTC on a ship - how fun is that going to be!!!
Best to all
MAL

Epcot has been awesome, although we are so tired. Last night I practically crawled back to the room. Must... play... more!! I'll be so happy to get on the cruise and RELAX!!

Hi everyone,
We are getting ready to leave SSR tomorrow and head for the port.
So far we have had a great time, we have been taking it easy did a couple of hours at magic kingdom Monday and Tuesday, then we all went swimming for the rest of the days. Met up with some friends at SSR at the pool. Then went to dinner at Germany and closed down Epcot.

agraygirl,

Sorry to hear about all the trouble with the rental car and the room.
Try to relax and take it easy before the cruise.

See everyone onboard.

Jim.
