After spending Saturday night at AKL we boarded the
Disney Cruise Line Bus at 12:15. It was about a hour
drive to the port. The bus was nice and clean and they
showed a Lilo and Stitch cartoon. About half way to the port
a Disney Cruise Line video was shown. That's when I think
we started getting excited about our cruise. When we got
to the port and topped the bridge it was very exciting to see
the cruise ships docked. The Wonder stood out, it was
beautiful. Check in seem to only take a few minutes. We
boarded the ship they took our picture and then our name was
announced. We were finally on board. The Atruim was so
pretty. We went to our stateroom and put our carry on's away.
Our room was 5139 deck 5 Aft. Cat. 11 is was ok for the 3 of us.
My DH and our DS14 and myself. I would book this cat. again
or maybe cat. 10 for the split bath. We were not in our room
enough for it to really make a difference. After looking around
the ship for a little while we went to Parrott Cay for lunch. So
much food, it was hard to decide what to eat. Checked out
the ship some more and then went to the life boat drill. The sail
away party was so much fun. We were up on deck 10 looking
down, the crowd was having a blast. Our dinner rotation was
TAPT. Tritons was my favorite resturant. We had 8:30 dinning
and I liked this because each night we had plenty of time to get
ready, go to the show and then go to dinner. Hercules and the
ventriliquist were my DH and DS favorite shows. I loved them
all but Disney Dreams was definatly the best. Sit close to the
front, during Disney Dreams because at the end Tinkerbell
sprinkles pixie dust and when it started raining pixie dust I held
out my hand and caught some to bring home with me. On
Monday Nassau day we were planning to go shopping and then
go to the Atlantis. After shopping in Nassua and at the straw
market for about 1 1/2 hours we got back on the boat and decided not to get back off. If I went back to Nassau I don't think
I would get off the boat. Atlantis did look beautiful from the
boat but, so did Nassau until you got off. We had a great afternoon on the boat and then that night was the Tropical Deck
party. It was just as much fun as the sail away party. We were
so full from dinner we could not eat the Mid night buffet. I think
it was alot of desserts. Our DS did not do any activities with the
teen club. But, he had a great time anyway. We will have to
take someone with him the next time. Castaway Cay day on
Tuesday was the best. We got off the boat at about 9:30 and
we walked down to the beach, got our chairs and a hammock
(which was wonderful). The only thing we did that day was
snorkeled in the lagoon. lay around and enjoy the view and
we rode bicycles to the end of the island. The Barbecue was great
Everything on Castaway Cay was just as the Disney web site
says" it was Shangri-La" and something we will never forget.
The color of the water was incredible. This was our first cruise
and we are planning another one just so we can go back
to Castaway Cay. We saw 2 movies while on board and it was
nice to take a break from the hot sun and cool off in a nice moive
theather. The temp. everyday was in the high 90's and very humid. Being from Ga. I thought I was use to humidity but, it was
still nice. Our next day was a day at sea. We slept in a little later
today and then enjoyed breakfast up on deck at Beach Blanket
Buffet. The ship cruised slow all day, and it was nice just
to sit back and take it easy. The last night came and went by so
fast. We would love to try a 7 night cruise next year and if not
4 night would still be great. Thursday morning we woke up ate
breakfast one last time at Tritons and disembarked the ship at
around 9:00. Rode the bus to MCO airport, and waited for our
flight back to Atlanta at 1:15. We Loved our Cruise and we will
cruise again next year with DCL. It's been almost a week since
we got off the ship and my DH is still taking about it. Maybe next
year we can take more of our family and friends with us and let
them share the Magic.
