May 3, 2012 Dream--3 Night Bahamas

so i have another couple questions. (sorry first time cruisers
what costs extra on the cruise? are you limited to 3 meals per day and then beyond that you pay extra or is all food included in the cruise costs no matter when or where you eat (excluding alcohol)
also we chose the 545 dinner time. so when it is dinner time do you choose 1 of those 3 places to eat or how does that work?
im so confused.. at least after this cruise i wont be so full of questions that im sure sound silly...
:dance3:

oh so like my mom and i would bring our on FE to hang on the door. and then prior to the cruise the leader of this would do like room swap with everyone on the list and you put the gift in the FE at some point during the cruise? or everyone that is joining in on this meets to exchange the gifts, or am i totally wrong? LOL sorry first cruise EVER....

The way it works (or at least has in my past cruises) is that everyone that wants to participate gets their own fish extender. I'll keep up with the list of participants which you can get a copy of off of this thread prior to your cruise which will contain all of the participants information (stateroom, number of people in rooms, ages of children, etc).

Then, what you choose to do is up to you. I personally go to a site like Oriental Trading Company and buy gifts to give out to the individual participants each day. This company is nice because you can buy in bulk and most things are relatively inexpensive. Some people do individual gifts for each person, some do a bigger gift for the entire stateroom. Some give out gifts each night of cruise, some may choose to do only one or two nights. Some buy gifts, and some do homemade crafts. It's completely up to you. There are no set rules. All I know is that it's always been lots of fun!! That, and doing magnets for the door!! :thumbsup2

Some things that cost extra are tips, eating at Remy or Palo (the adult only restaurants), alcohol, snacks for purchase outside the movie theater, smoothies in the dining room, any soda that isn't either gotten from the drink stations or in the dining room, candy ordered from room service, etc. I'm sure there are others, but I'm probably not thinking about them. Anway, MOST things are included in the cost of the cruise.

As far as dinner goes, you are assigned a dining rotation that you will receive when you check in at the terminal and that will tell you where you eat each night. You will dine in each main restaurant once on the 3 night cruise.

On my first cruise we did a tour through Disney to go and see the aquarium at Atlantis. It was pretty, but was expensive and probably not worth it. On a different cruise, my friend and I chose to go out on our own and visited the pirate museum. It was great! Very interesting and didn't cost much at all. It's only a few minute walk from the ship. I would highly recommend it as an option.

what about the straw market place? anybody ever done that? is it close to the ship? i just dont wanna get lost and get left in the bahamas. LOL

The straw market place is just a bunch of vendors urging you to buy their crafts, which is alright if you like to be bugged while shopping. I would take it in short visits only because they really do get on your nerves. Frankly Nassau is really not much to see unless you like the Atlantis , I'd much rather stay on the Dream. The stop at Castaway Cay is much better.:banana:

Thank you..snoozin'cruisin... you are not the first person that has said that .. I just wanted to get some more opinons especially from someone who has actually been to the straw market... .. My mom isnt too keen on getting off the Dream in Nassau anyway... LOL... Thanks again...

Wow, thats good to know... Everytime I had asked someone about the Straw Market I had heard mixed reviews.

Just a little over 6 weeks to go!

Just booked this cruise as a last minute add-on to a girls trip to WDW in May! I'll be doing a bit of TA research and a lot of relaxing! I would love to participate in the FE!

Hey! Did you get my pm about dining? My messages have been acting up so I just wanted to be sure.

SO I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT HOW YOU ARE REQUIRED TO DRESS FOR DINNER.. I HAVE HEARD IT IS CRUISE CASUAL, BUT STILL THERE ARE CERTAIN DRESS CODES FOR DINNER. CAN ANYONE TELL ME MORE ABOUT THAT SO WE KNOW WHAT PACK? MY MOM SAID SHE WAS "NOT DRESSING UP" LOL.. WE ARE JUST NOT INTO THAT KINDA THING... ALSO IF YOU DONT WANT TO GO TO THE SPECIFIC DINNERS EACH NIGHT CAN YOU JUST GO EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE ON THE SHIP, OR HOW DOES THAT WORK?
THANKS GUYS...
IM FULL OF QUESTIONS I KNOW.. HAHAHA
:cool1:

Just curious, how does staying in a Concierge Level room affect FE? If someone was to stay in a cl room others wouldn't be able to access the hallway, correct?

I'm not sure how it works on the ship but if it is anything like the resorts at WDW, then that floor is only accessable by a special Key Card and if you
are not on that floor, you will have no access.

That area is gated, although on my last cruise on the Dream I never saw the gate closed. Apparently you can leave FE gifts with the concierge CM to deliver to the rooms.
