May 28, 2009 Wonder Cruise - Anyone Else?

This is what I have. Done by BayouMickey on the Creative DISign forum on the Community Board.

Cute! I could definitely print that out and pin (or tape) it to myself! :rotfl:

Yesterday was a great day! We received our cruise documents and Disney waived ROFR, so we are now owners at SSR! :cool1::cool1:

I am hoping to meet up with everyone at 3pm. Although, I will have 2 girls that may have other ideas and I also would like to attend the DVC gathering, so we will see how it all works out.

Anyone needing to bring an extra suitcase for all the FE stuff? I am contemplating whether to take an extra bag/suitcase or to ship it to the resort ahead of time. I'm sure that we would be able to fill it back up with all the souveniors the girls will buy, but that would be one more bag to check.

Only 17 more days till WDW and DCL!!!

Congrats on the SSR news!

I just finished up on my FE stuff -- I think I'll pack it all in a carryon roller bag. I tried to keep it all pretty small but I don't think I'll be able to fit everything into my regular suitcase.

For those wondering about the upgrade, I have no idea if upgrades are given to those who reserved first. I reserved my Cat. 11 sometime around Dec. 15th. I did use Dreams Unlimited-- perhaps since they are such a big agency with lots of bookings maybe you are more likely to get upgraded if you use them? I really don't know but I am happy about it!

For the ones that have kids with birthday's on the cruise, are you doing things to make it more special? My daughter wants all of her presents before the cruise. I plan to save somethings to give her that day. She doesn't like regular cake so I am not ordering her a cake. I did buy some decorations for our stateroom. I know that Disney will sing to her at meals. I think I am stressing over this too much.:scared1:

My DD's birthday is the day we sail - we arrive in Orlando on Tuesday and are spending 2 nights at Pop Century - I will decorate our room and window with signs and lights to celebrate her day. We are eating at Crystal Palace on Wednesday to celebrate as well. I made her a special shirt saying "today's my Birthday" that she will wear, along with her Disney birthday button and birthday mouse ears. She is getting an ipod as her present and we will give that to her Thursday morning at breakfast. My older DD is going to put cruise themed songs on it for me. So she will have it to use while we drive to the port. We have a towncar taking us to the port and during the drive I am going to give her a letter from Captain Mickey inviting her on the cruise and a stuffed Captain Mickey. When we board I am going to ask them to announce her birthday as well. When the staterooms are ready I am going to decorate our room and door with signs and streamers. I made her a cruise theme gift basket that I will put in our room as well. I know they get a cake at dinner and will sing.

Just wanted to see if you all had DCL or your travel agent note on your reservations that you are celebrating a birthday. You don't have to order a cake that you pay extra for. From what I understand if it's noted they will bring something special for dessert for the birthday member.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Can't wait to meet you all!

I'm bringing a bag just for FE stuff. Will probably put in my checked luggage though.....we are driving though and not flying. Figure we will need the bag to take back FE stuff and things the kids buy.:goodvibes

Hope to see you on board!

We did make note of her birthday. I am also celebrating my birthday that is on the 21st. It is a scary one!! :scared1: I wanted to be in Disney for my birthday because you can't really grow up in Disney. That was the whole reason that we planned the cruise but we waited a week because some friends wanted to join us.

They will bring her a cupcake and sing plus whatever dessert she wants. They sell cakes and decoration but I think she will have enough sweets.

I keep worrying about it all but what could be better than being on a Disney cruise ship for your real birthday.

I can't wait to meet everyone too.

I wanted to check and see if everyone has received their cruise documents? We haven't received anything.

We just received ours on Wednesday. We went through our TA for the cruise and the documents were sent to her instead of directly to us. On Monday she said that if nothing was received by the next Monday she would be checking on them. Of course our dining is wrong...we wanted late and got early. I'm hoping this can be changed.

That is what I was afraid of. We went through a TA too. She says the office isn't the most efficient.

I got ours. Well, I got mine. They had a different address for the kids, so they went to their dad's house, but he has them for me. I have to change all the luggage tags though. I decided at the last minute to upgrade to a Cat. 6. I started thinking I wanted to try out a balcony, then I realized that I hadn't paid a dime toward this cruise. Their dad paid the deposit before we divorced, and he didn't want to be reimbursed, and my stepmother paid the balance. So in the end I paid $540 for the upgrade. Right now I have a GTY Cat. 6, so I am checking the site every darn day to see when I get a cabin, and what it is. :goodvibes

I just sent everyone an updated fish extender list. Please let me know if there are any changes. Hopefully this will be the last one since we are getting very close to our trip!!

Thanks so much Dawn for doing such a great job with out FE list!!!!!

Pirate night.

Okay, what are you all doing? All out pirate (full costume), some pirate accessories, or no pirate at all?

DS will probably want to wear his pirate costume.....just wondering if he will be the only kid his age dressed as a pirate. DD will not do pirate!!!!!! Though I do have the cutest picture of her two years ago at DS's birthday party (pirate themed, treasure hunt)....she has on the pirate bandana, drawn on mustache and gottee, her swim suit and a grass skirt.

What about adults? Anyone dressing up?

Can't wait to sail.

Cristy

I can only speak for myself and I'm not planning on dressing the pirate part. I suppose Brent might wear his pirate Mickey ears. I'm trying to carry-on my luggage, so I don't want to overpack.

Can't wait! I leave Indy 2 weeks from Wednesday! Yeah!

My DD picked out a couple black bandana's, but I think that's as far as the girls will go. I know that DH will not (he may surprise me though just to embarass the girls), and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm packing for myself in general! But, I have FE gifts done:yay:

I bought the children pirate shirts. Dh and I have pirate shirts too. That is the most we are doing. I am sure my boys would gladly wear their pirate costumes, but due to packing room and time I didn't want to bring them along. Hopefully we will receive the bandannas.

Dawn - Thank you for the updated FE list and for coordinating the exchange. I finished my gifts last night - man are they heavy - guess my DH will get to carry them :lovestruc

Got our docs in the mail last week - our Magical Express docs came yesterday - guess we are ready to go.

No pirate costumes for us - just couldn't come up with anything - we'll do more the tropical theme.

Less than 2 weeks til we leave - I am so ready to go!!!
