I can't find a thread on this cruise date, so I thought I would start one. We are a party of 3, all adults with a 19 yr. old son also cruising. Would love to meet others with adult children also cruising.

Best to post this in the CRUISE MEETS area

My mom (age 54) and I (age 26) are considering this cruise. It's between this one and one on Royal Caribbean that leaves the same day.

She's been on 3 Disney cruises and I've been on 4. I first went on a 4-night one when I was 18 with one of my friends. Then I got mom started. Since then, we've both been on a 7-night Eastern, 3 or 4-night (can't remember), and 4-night Double Dip (this past May).

We like DCL but are thinking of trying RC for a change of pace. We like the themes of the dining rooms on DCL, but we tend to like "freestyle" type dining better, so on our last DCL cruise, we ate at Palo and in the dining room once, and the rest of the time ordered room service or ate at Pluto's a lot!

The only reason we're hesitant to try RC is that we're afraid we've spoiled by Disney and will be disappointed with the quality and service. Hopefully we'll decide between DCL or RC by the end of the year sometime!

Bumping this up to see if there's anyone else on this cruise since the new "Kids Free" deal came out.

My DH and I will be taking our DD as a surprise for her 11th b-day on the 28th.

Anyone else out there joining us??

We're going too! This will be our first cruise -- lured in with the free kids promo. It'll be DH and I along with DD - 8 and DS - 7.

Hi cruise mates! We are first timers, also booking under the kids free promo. Will be myself, DH, DS (11) and DD (6).

Hi there! New to the boards...

We're second time Disney cruisers. Did the four-day a few years ago and loved it.

It's me, DH, DD (11) and DS (9) from NJ. Hitting the parks from the 23rd-28th, then cruise.

Can't wait!!! :yay:

We also booked because of the kids sail free promo. it will be me, DH, and our BBG triplets who are 8. We will spend a few days after the cruise and go to Cape Canaveral and the beach.

We will be there too. First time disney cruisers. Me, DH, DS (12), and DS (7 mos). It is also our 5th wedding ann as well. Then after our cruise, spending 10 days at WDW!

I am sooooo excited!!:goodvibes

Good Afternoon,

Glad to see many posting - looks like there's gonna be a lot of kids on the cruise. This trip is a surprise for my DD - her 11th birthday is on the 28th. It is so hard planning and not being able to talk about it. She is gonna be so excited when she finds out.

So how is everyone passing the time? This will be out frist 3-night cruise - last time we did the 7 night Eastern - has anyone sailed the 3-night before? Any tips you want to pass along?

Tammy

Hi there,

My DH and I were just looking at the pics from our April 2005 4-night Wonder cruise. I'm guessing this one won't be that different... My kids were 7 (DD) and 5 (DS) at the time and it was all about taking pics with the characters which I highly recommend. The lines were not that bad and there were plenty of opps and different characters available. The Pirate night was fun but really crowded but seeing the fireworks over the ocean was awesome.

As far as tips, the one I have for everyone (that I wish someone had told me the first time) is to wear your bathing suits when you embark. While you will be able to get into your cabin, it could be several hours before your luggage makes it onboard. If you pack a small extra bag and either wear or carry your bathing suits, you'll be able to go right to the pools and get wet!

Oh, one more thing, bring some cash to Castaway Cay. While beach chairs and BBQ are free, if you want water sports "toys" like tubes and rafts, they'll cost extra, as well as alcoholic drinks (waiters will bring them right to you on the beach!) and hair braiding, among other things.

Tammy, make sure you tell everyone (at check in, the wait staff, etc.) its your DD's b-day... I'm sure they'll hook you up!

Maybe my 11-year old DD and yours will get a chance to meet.

I have a question -- anyone planning on going to Nassau/Atlantis? We didn't last time so we're going to check it out this time. Just not sure which package we'll choose. Thoughts, anyone?

Jenn

I think we are going to the Pirate Museum that morning in Nassau and then spending the day on the ship. Since it is only a 3 day and our 1st cruise EVER, we want to have time to explore the Wonder and enjoy her.

I was going to book the day room at the Comfort Inn at Atlantis, but the cost is just too high (trying to keep this a budget trip). I think we might do the morning catamaran tour - my DH loved the last catamaran we were on (and its the only thing he has asked to do) - this way we'll be back by lunch and should be able to enjoy the ship as well.

Jenn - that would be great if the girls could meet - Brenna loves to make new friends and have someone to play with.

Is anyone interested in doing a mini-meet on boarding day??

Tammy

We'll be joining everyone!! It's our first cruise for me, DH, DD(10) & DS(9). We are spending 3 days before and 5 days after at the parks. Is it May yet??? I could sure use some warm weather about now.:goodvibes

Hello,

This is our first cruise and we are celebrating Austin's 11th Birthday. It is also a surprise. I think it is neat that Brenna is also turning 11 and this will be a surprise for her. I hope our birthday kids get to meet on the cruise.

I noticed there are many kids on this 3 day cruise and I am so excited.

Any suggestions for a first time cruiser would be great.

This is great that alot of you here are taking part in the Disney Cruise special. My child is 19, so we will miss you all, and be hanging out in the adult areas. Hope some of you can get together for meets!:goodvibes

We will be there. The children think we are just going to Disney World.

I can't decide which excursions we want to do. I want to explore Nassau a bit because who knows when we will return.
