Mom-
For being sick....you are staying up too late! Get some sleep before we go because you know that there will be NO sleep once we get to the land.

Sue-
Are you guys coming down early? I know you have the night before at the port, but I couldn't remember if you have the chance for the precruise meeitng.

Anyone hitting DL before hand, FYI...they have 50 of the pressed penny machines this year to show something for each of Disney's 50 years. There are also 50 "hidden" golden mickeys to find around the park.

Well....I'm done w/the hidden mouses so here is the list of all 20...these were modified from a website called http://www.hiddenmickeys.org/Cruise/Magic.html ( WARNING: they are written very straightforward on the website, I wanted to make it more of a hunt). The website also lists hidden mickeys for the parks if anyone is interested in searching for them plus secret other characters (ie, Eeyore parkinglot signs on Indy, Donald's face on chair on Haunted Mansion, etc).

HERE'S THE MOUSES:
In the family pool (goofy pool), check the drain gutter (or drain cover).

Monday's Hidden Mickey (or search for the mouse #2):

On Deck 9, go forward young of heart, look down toward the "secret" crew pool and find another secret in the metal deck!

Hidden Mickey#3:

A day of play, a day of shooting hoops...the mouse will keep you on the courts.

Hidden Mickey #4: Fancy dinner, fancy place, better look up or there'll be a mouse in your plate! (NOTE, this actually refers to TWO hidden mickeys in one place).

Here's Hidden Mickey #5: If you gotta do laundry, you've gotta use soap so check your dispenser bubbles for a peek at the mouse!

Hidden Mickey #6: While you are getting pampered, or at least waiting to, better check out those coconuts on the sofa..WOW!

Hidden Mickey #7: (challenging)...Find the mural on a middle deck with the reading man and a hidden mouse will swim out of the mural at you.

Hidden Mickey #8:
Grab the coffee and go...but don't forget to check out that strange kid with the glasses hanging around outside the door.

Hidden Mickey #9:
Hey kids...look at that pirate ship!

Hidden Mickey Time!
Hidden Mickey #10:
While you watch the colors change, look for the brushes that make it happen and you will find a mouse nearby!

Hidden Mickey #11:
Going up? Going down? Check the grillwork before you step on.

Hidden Mickey #12....
Even famous artists can add a mickey in their design...look straight up for the blue mouse hidden in the atrium.

Hidden Mickey LUCKY #13:
When using your own bathroom, make sure to wash your hands.

Hidden Mickey #14:
Doors to the studio, check the buttons.

Hidden Mickey #15:
Going shopping, check the clouds...it might rain mouses!

Hidden Mickey #16
Pull up to the bar, but watch where you put your feet!

Hidden Mickey # 17:
The wires hold it all together, check the clamp holding those wires together for a secret mouse! (challenging)

Hidden Mickey #18:
Go watch the show but don't spend your whole time looking at the scrollwork!

Hidden Mickey #19:
Fancier family dining, but watch the clock on the wall for what he is wearing.
(challenging)

Hidden Mickey #20:
Listen to that Whistle....check it out if you get to see it too!

Hi Chris - unfortunately we won't be doing DL prior to the cruise. Mark is working through Thursday and I am taking Thursday off to get the mandatory cruise pedicure and manicure :cool1: and finish packing, running last minute errands. We will drive down Friday morning and staying near the Queen Mary in Long Beach. I think it is like an 8 minute shuttle to San Pedro.

Gail - I am so sorry we didn't get to meet up for shopping. I have been doing a lot of it lately!!! I think I need a second job to pay for all the new clothes I've been buying. I told Mark, "hey, I didn't shop for over 10 years so give me a break" I'm really enjoying shopping now (and I hated it before the 50 lb. weight loss!!)

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone. See everyone REALLY soon.

Sue, Mark, Kelly & Ava

Sorry Sue that we won't see you 'til the boat...but we'll have fun!

Guess what??? I'm PACKED!
 :jumping1: :cool1: :dancer: :thewave: :jumping2: :cheer2: Can I leave now?

I piled up my clothes for the cruise last night and it was insanely small. Like...really small. Like, smaller than a batch of laundry. So I am freaking. I have been really careful in trying to not pack too many things, but have I over done it? :confused3 I still have yet to throw it all in the suitcase. DH has some shopping to do when he arrives. I realized he may not have enought "not pollo, collared shirts" for dinner. Freakin' dress code. Why don't they just supply you with uniforms! :sad2: I can't remember where I read that "Tommy Bahama" type shirts are not allowed. WHAT!? Those are nice and expensive shirts. The Orthodontist I used to work for wore those every day! *PANIC* :earseek: At least after all this, we'll be set for our next cruise. :goodvibes *planning ahead*

:sunny: HOT TIP #14 - Every day brings with it a special “drink of the day”. It’s a specialty cocktail served at bars and lounges on board. The beverage will be noted in the Personal Navigator. It is often available at a special price.
See, I'm totally running out of tips in my book! That's good. Were almost there! At first when I read about the special price for drinks of the day, I was excited, thinking...cheaper! Then it hit me...they mean more expensive. Cuz doesn't it even come in the cute DCL glass? Who cares, I'm getting one anyway. EVERYDAY! :drinking1 :drinking: :drinking1 :drinking: :drinking1 :rockband:

Hi Brandy,,,I didn't know that polo type shirts are not allowed at dinner?!:rolleyes2
My husband is bringing short sleeved collared shirts that are similar to Tommy Bahama or Rehn Spooner. I don't see how they could really get very picky. As long as a guy is clean, presentable and wearing a collared shirt and long pants, for as much as we're all paying for this cruise, that should be that. Just serve the dinner....jeeezz!:rolleyes2 I was bummed because we saw this lime green short sleeved collared woven dress shirt at Target, but they were out of his size!
I bet you are sooooo excited your hubby is coming on Wednesday!!
I have a friend who's hubby is in Iraq right now. He is due back in July for a vacation, then goes back until end of November.

Can't wait to meet you all!:sunny:

Oh yeah,, if you guys are going shopping, they had lots of light lime green dress shirts at Robinson's-May!

I know they allow polo shirts and hawaiian shirts for dinner since that is all my friends' DH and DS's wore on their DCL last year...and is ALL that I packed for DS (so it better be OK!). She said there were even people in tshirts at dinner and it didn't look like the dress code was enforced in any way, shape or form. If this has changed....Disney better watch out or they will have lots of upset cruisers!

Outside of formal and semiformal night, I packed ONLY hawaiian shirts for DS for dinner...and one RLPolo to match his sis's RLPolo dress.

Here is what it says on DCL's website for dinner clothes:

slacks, sundresses, jeans and tops are all appropriate daytime attire in the Bahamas, the Caribbean and Central Florida. In the winter, a light jacket, sweater and socks may be needed for cooler days and nights. Bring comfortable shoes like boat shoes, sandals or sneakers. And don't forget swimwear, sunglasses, a sunhat or visor and sunscreen — especially for the kids. All cruises host a tropical deck party. You are invited to join in the fun by wearing festive island wear including colorful shirts, dresses, shorts or pants.

What should I wear to dinner?

Dining Dress requirements vary by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general, most meals are "Cruise Casual" — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops. Most cruises also have special theme nights with additional attire requirements. Here's a breakdown of these events by cruise itinerary.

On 3-night cruises:

First night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Second night: pirate or tropical deck party
Final night: "dress-up night" — jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women
On 4-night cruises:
First night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One "dress-up night" — jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women
Final night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
On 7-night cruises:
First night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Three additional "cruise casual" nights — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One formal and one semi-formal night — formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress; semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit.
Dress for dinner at Palo on all cruises:
Men: dress shirt or jacket
Women: dress or pantsuit

Sorry to but in here but the latest dress code info can be found in the cruise news. The regulation about polo's and Tommy Bahama type shirts is for Palo only. For the casual nights in the dining room, it only states no swimwear, shorts, or tank tops.

Hope that helps.

If I remember correctly, the only place I remember reading that no Tommy Bahama style shirts are not allowed is Palo? I can't remember where I read that but I could swear it did say that, but I don't remember it saying anything about the regular diningrooms?

Maybe we will all be eating in Topsiders everynight!! :rotfl2: Just kidding, I'm sure we will all be dressed fine.

We just got back from the costume shop, we picked up a pirate costume for Kelly and hats for the rest of us. pirate: They didn't have anything small enough for Ava except a foam type hat. Now if I could just find my old pirate costume. I've had one for years (probably 15?) for Halloween but for the life of me I can't find it. Must keep looking

I can't believe we are leaving in 6 days (driving to LA). I'd better get on the ball and finish everything. I keep changing my mind on what the girls will wear. I know, I make way to big a deal out of it. I always feel like everyday is a picture opportunity on vacation (especially this one) so I really want them to look cute. I'd better finish up soon!!

Thanks GrumpyMom1....That about clears it up. I guess hubby will wear his formal shirt and jacket to Palos. :cool1:

Hey Mr. Man- We are headed out at 6 am too...but on Wed on the first flight out of our tiny town! We can't wait to meet you and Gail and the boys. Please tell Tyler and Toby "Howdy" from Alex!

Sue- Please tell Kelly "thanks" from Emily! She has reviewed her picture book of everyone's pictures until the edges are tattered. She can name each kiddo and tell me how old they are (and if they are "my friends" or "my brother's friends") so I know she will be recognizing EVERYONE before I do!
Emi will be in a green shirt, but most likely jumping into the pool in a swimsuit by the time we get near the pool (she screamed in delight when she saw the mickey pool on the screenshots of the Panama Canal).

I'm sure Emi would love to give a message as well, but is busy bugging her brother as he's on a video game...so I'll translate what she has mentioned about the cruise today..."I'm so excited! Are we packed yet? Is it really only 3 more days until we go? Then can I get on the boat? Will my friends be at the airport? Will all the girls wear princess dresses? How soon can I swim with my friends? When can they come over to my house to play? Can we have a sleepover tonight? Can Captain Mickey play with my friends and me?"... ::MickeyMo ...Now that she's in the room, her official word is: "Hi! I can't wait to see you!"
Emily :dancer:

Hi everyone! I am 17 and my family and I will be joining all of you on an exciting cruise to mexico! hehe How fun! This will be our 3rd disney cruise on the Magic :teeth: So excited! Do ya'll have any teens that will be onboard?

Please, PRETTY PRETTY Please....bring us all navigators in all age groups!
