May 28, 2005 Mexican Riviera

Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful New Year's.

Add our family to this cruise. We'll be cruising with our kids -- our son who will be 1 1/2 and our daughter who will be 5! This will be our 3rd Disney cruise -- we can't get enough!

Susie:

Thanks for the list. Yes, we will definitely be there on May 28th.

Gail, John, Tyler (age 11) and Toby (age 9)

Chris, here, checking back in...we're definitely still on, but I know that Tandy is off, so you might want to take her and family off the running list.

I'm looking so forward to this...still debating when we are flying down and hitting the park before/after/both! We bought APs last summer when we were down at DL just so we can hang at the park around the cruise!

Quick question...how do you celebrate important dates aboard? DH will have BD on board...plus we want to honor the big year of 2005 (we have a 60 yr BD, a 50 yr BD, a 30 yr anniversary, etc).

Just found this thread. Add us to the list, Alex and Carolyn. This will be DCL cruise number 21, number 20 will be the 14 day Panama Canal FL to LA (yes, 21 days onboard). We have been on all the inaugual cruises and firsts for DCL, so we just have to do both of these firsts. We're in cabin 6574. We are excited about every DCL cruise we take, each one is different. The first west coast cruise should be excellent with some extras that later west coast cruises won't have. We cruise with no kids and there are many things for adults to do during the day and after hours, just depends on what you like to do.

First Timers
Welcome and do tell. What are those extras that the others won't be getting? We were hoping for some limited edition pins.

Pocono

On the 10 Christmas cruise, several limited edition pins were released and we got a limited edition lithograph. We heard there will be some hoopla when leaving LA as we will be the first west coast cruise to do so. New can tell what Disney "magic" will happen.

Its getting close and I can hardly wait. Anyone want to meet up at say the sail away party. I'v got my lime green lanyard ready to go. maddy

Hi,
We just booked this past week. We have two little girls. I am so excited to see other 5 year old little girls on board! Our daughter will turn 5 in April and we will also have our little girl who will be 22 months when we sail.

I have been on 3 other cruises but this will be our first time on DCL and our children's first cruise.

Is there a DIS party planned on board or anything scheduled?

Very excited about this trip!! We were thinking of staying on the Hotel Queen Mary boat the night before? I wonder if the Sheraton would be better? It would be AMAZING to watch the boat enter the harbor!! woo-hoo :cool1:

We are in a Catagory 10 but our cabin has not been assigned yet.

Sue, Mark, Kelly & Ava

Now the excursions are out. They look great. Some decisions are going to be hard to make.

Hi,
Have others gone on excursions with a toddler before? I was looking at the list and I think they can go on the Beach ones? Is that correct? Does anyone have any experience with any of the excursions and can give a postitive or negative review?

Thanks,
Sue

I haven't done any excursions for the Mexican Riviera before (I've only cruised DCL), but last year we did do a beach/pool excursion in San Juan with an 8 month old. He did fine. I asked guest services which excursion (they had several hotel pool/beach ones to choose from) would be best for an infant. I mainly wanted umbrellas available. They were more than happy to look into the best excursion and let me know. We definitely plan on doing at least a couple beach/resort excursions.

I noticed that you have two little ones. Our daughter is also turning 5 in April. She will be so excited to see someone else her age! Our son will be 16 months when we cruise, so we'll also have a toddler. Gosh, that is so hard to say -- I want my baby back!! They just grow up too quickly.

Just letting you know that the prices for Puerto Vallarta have been added as well as the times of the excursions at all of the ports. :cool1:

It is great that there will be other 5 year old girls on board. So they have the same birthday month too! My daughter will do fine in the club as long as she meets a friend or two to hang around. If not, she might be shy and not want to stay in.

We are thinking of doing a Hotel excursion in Puerto Vallarta since we will have our toddler with us too and I don't think any of the other excursions (snorkeling etc. will allow toddlers).

Are you from California? We will be driving down the night before from the Bay Area.

Sue
