May 2025 special events

I am trying to plan a trip in May 2025 and wanted to see if there would be any kind of special events that would close the parks early. Is there any kind of grad night or something along those lines that would affect park hours?

Star Wars nights and Grad nights will both close the parks early on various days in May. Grad Nights impact DCA and Star Wars nights will impact DL. If you go Fri-Sun, crowds are generally lower (weird, I know). You can search online for a 2024 calendar as an example, but I believe grad nights impact some Fridays and Sundays, and Star Wars nights would only be on weeknights. Memorial Day weekend is unlikely to see any early park closures for special events, single day tickets will be more expensive (meaning lower crowds), and the three lowest levels of passholders will be blocked (meaning lower crowds). I went July 4th this year and it was blissful!

Grad Nite 2025 dates are available online:

May 9, 12, 18, 21, 22, 27, 28 and 30, 2025
June 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, and 13, 2025

Star Wars Nites will likely be end of April and beginning of May. Last year there were 8 nights, I believe, but they may cut back a bit next year because this year they didn’t sell nearly as fast as other years.

We are going May 24-28 so I'll just know to start at DCA on the last two days. I'm glad it's only two of our days!

Thanks all. We will probably be there May 9-13 with park days being 10-12. I may tack a day on so we can do Knott's Berry Farm for my nostalgia (last visit in 1989), but I haven't decided yet.
