DH & DW - in our 60's - budget trip to our favorite place = May 2021, if there is a vaccine
Quick trip, just 5 days in the Parks (2 MK, 2 EPCOT, 1 AK or DHS)

Should we stay with our preferred room at Pop - has a nice bed and table for 2.

Or if a nice discount is available, such as 25% off or more, for CSR, move to a standard room and ask for Casita's building 4 or 5 ? Worst case we would be in the Rancho's or Cabana's - They have a Keurig coffee maker in the rooms :drinking:

CBR looks nice - but a standard room is the last bus stop :scared:
POR is to big, we have to pay for preferred which would negate a discount and POFQ is nice - but does not get discounts :sad2:

I've never stayed there but I think CSR is a more upscale experience. My sister LOVED it there compared to Pop.

I have nothing against Pop. But I view Pop as a place to stay when I want to sleep/shower. Since we don't know what park hours will be like, I'd be more inclined to book something a little nicer.

I have stayed at Pop twice (albeit never with the skyliner) and CSR twice, and I would 100% pick CSR for an adults trip. The skyliner is excellent, but CSR is a $10 lyft from any park and is much closer to MK, so that evens out the transportation for me. The new bridges make it super easy to get around the resort, and it is just so much quieter and relaxing than Pop!

I have stayed at both, family of 4 with two children. I would always pick CSR over POP for us for several reasons and you can see if our priorities align with yours for a resort:

-POP is very chaotic/loud lobby building under normal circumstances. Next May it really may not be as crowded but I suspect if it's open by then, it will be closer to normal crowds so bottom line, eating at the resort is likely for us and we don't care for the food court and lobby area. After one meal at the food court, I went down to grab breakfast as soon as they opened and avoided that place the rest of our trip. For us, the resort should be a welcome break from the parks and not equally as chaotic.

-We also don't love the pools. Our kids are older and we all like slides which POP does not offer, may be a moot point for you.

POP was great for our family when our kids were younger. I won't ever say NEVER but unless we had a great incentive, even more than the skyliner, I would likely not stay there again. I'd much prefer one of the other Skyliner resorts before I chose POP. If you are the type of traveler that only sleeps at the resort and really sticking to your budget, then POP is your choice. But if you plan to eat at the resort and/or use the pools, you may want to look outside of a value.

As far as CSR, yes CSR is a large resort but it would be my choice hands down, especially with the room updates and the addition of the tower and updated dining options. The theming, design and overall landscape of the resort is more more preference.

The bus situation is never fun but the CSR bus situation is much better than Port Orleans. And do keep in mind, sometimes the skyliner isn't running so transportation would be bus only.
