We went that week this year, and the crowds were fine. But the heat... It was hotter than satans B**ls.
We are from missouri. Its pretty humid here, and by May, usually have days in the upper 80's, some years even 100 before memorial day. So I figured we would be ok, and somewhat used to the heat by the time we went. Nope. It was still upper 60's lower 70's here the week before we went. We about died. lol For comparison, today the humidity here is 79%, and my weather app shows 81% in Orlando. Even the CMs were talking about how hot it was for May that week. We are going to try January and maybe we will all enjoy it more lolYup I grew up 90 minutes north of Orlando so I'm used to the Florida heat and humidity. But I even got light headed in May at AK and had to sit down and cool off, and I'm fairly fit. Its just SOOOO hot with the crowds, concrete and lack of shade in most places. My wife, who is NOT from Florida, said never again. But I would do it again. Just early mornings at the Parks and afternoons at the Pool.
I can't speak for your exact time frame but we were there in May of this year, the week of May 12 and we were VERY pleasantly surprised at the crowd levels. We typically travel in late January and early September for lower crowds and this year I found that week in May to be better!
We went may 8-15 this year and it was much more crowded than when we go in September. If you usually go in June, I would think it would be on par or a little less crowded.
These posts show how subjective this “crowded” really is. These posters were there at about the same time. One found the crowds better than September, one found them much worse. Expect crowds, that is just the reality of WDW now. Make a plan & have realistic expectations. I think your expectations play a part in how much you end up enjoying your vacation. If you go in thinking you’ll have low crowds & it ends up crazy crowded, you will be frustrated & disappointed. If you go in expecting it to be crowded but you get things you planned done, you will be much happier in the end.
