We have gone to DW every year for the past 4 years. After going this past October, we decided we were Disney'd out. WHAT?!!? That feeling didn't last long.:worship:
But, we have decided that we've gone in Dec twice and in Oct twice, a change of scenery will be nice. We've seen food and wine, Christmas decore, Halloween decore, MNSSHP... So we are waiting until next May to be able to enjoy the Flower and Garden in Epcot and Star Wars weekend in HS.
I don't know what to do with myself. By now I'm usually counting down to October...only 9 months...I'd be shopping for outfits online.

We are also selling our duplex for a house this summer (which is a big part of the reason why we are waiting to go back to DW)

Anyway, done rambling. What will the temps be like in May? Crowds? flights? deal through DW? When am I able to book?

I was there in May last year and will be going the same time again this year. Last year crowds were relatively light with major lineups only at Soarin and Toy Story Mania as per usual. Everything else was practically a walk on, don't think I waited more than 20 mins for anything.

There is a REALLY good room-rate only deal for Canadians so maybe they'll offer the same next year.

Weather last year was smokin hot, so I went out early, went back to the room for a shower and a nap in the heat of the afternoon, and went out to play again after dinner.

The worst of it was Star Wars Weekends because HS is a total zoo, but if you have a good game plan it's a blast.

This past October was HOT, I guess it was just humid compared to the hot October before where there was no humidity and was very nice. Everything I am looking at seems to show that May is about the same for temperatures as October, so that would be perfect. December seems to be hit or miss, when we go we really want some heat!

I have zero game plan for HS and the Star Wars weekend. So far all I can come up with is that THIS year it begins May 18th and that we should be there on that Friday. (the first Friday it starts). I am very curious as to what we should expect, what is the best plan, and ideas. We love to go with the flow, but I always have back up plans to resort to 'incase'. Just to be prepared.

Star Wars Weekends are just really busy and if there are autographs you REALLY want to get from legit actors there's a whole fast-pass system for it and people line up for ridiculously long times before park opening to get these. To get photos with people in costume like Chewbacca or even Princess Leia Minnie, those lineups can be long and are often unshaded so come prepared with water, a hat, and a buttload of patience. It's not "un-doable" (shocked my spellcheck didn't' go nuts over that one) but you may want to have a bit more of a plan just for that specific part of it.

There are also special Star Wars Weekends maps that you can usually access before the day of that show the parade route, times, and other special features for the weekend. Treat this like your SWW bible. The parade is awesome though, plan for that for sure.

It's worth the trip, but requires a little more planning than you're probably used to if you're a "go with the flow" kind of traveller. I'm that way too and it was PAINFUL to have to plan this day out, but I'm glad I did.

We are still not 100% confirmed, but are hoping to leave April 28 for 10 days or so. We have gone in Nov, Dec & Jan, so I am looking forward to pool days.
