Day 3
Today is the day of Petes party so we get up, have some breakfast at the Garden Grove Café in the Swan, and get ready to go. Marsha, Nativetxn (Kath) and I are riding together to the party. After a brief nervous breakdown (front desk couldnt find the directions my dh left for us) off we go in a cool black sports car. This trip really should have been on film. Lets just say we arrived at Petes safe and sound!
As we go in we see swarms of people. I have to say that these are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. Pete was a very gracious host and we couldnt have asked for a nicer party. My girls, Carols girls, and Jaypds wife Stacey all went to Blizzard Beach for the day. They had a blast burnt feet and all!
Day 4
Today is the day my girls have been waiting for. Alex was coming over to do MGM with them (well all of us). Unfortunately I woke up to a very strange smell. I look out the windows and honestly it was completely gray. The smoke from the wildfires had blanketed the area and I couldnt see anything! It was as if someone had hung gray curtains in front of the windows while we slept. Since my oldest has asthma, we had to take it slow. Finally the smoke cleared enough for us to walk over to Tubbies for breakfast. One prednisone and several inhalers later we are ready to meet at MGM. We met up with Alex on Hollywood Blvd. He and the girls rode all the wild stuff, dh and I sat out on RnR but dh went on TOT with them. I walked in but took the chicken elevator. I wasnt going any of the time but it was nice to spend some time with Alex. A few rides later he says goodbye, more people to meet. We are off on our own to do some stuff. Later on we met up with Carol and went to the parks with her and her girls. I am starting to realize this is our last day. L A group of us had decided to meet up at PI so we took the car over and ate at the Rain Forest. We went to the Adventurers Club and Comedy Club. They were both really funny.
Day 5
Carol and I had made plans to meet up for the last time this morning. Its so sad leaving all of our Dis friends. L As we were sitting at the Swan several more moderators happen by all of a sudden its a tiny Dis meet J We stretch out our goodbyes as long as possible and realize its almost time for Carols flight. Hugs to everyone and off we go.
Driving home wasnt too bad except for the awful smoke along I-75 around Lake City, Fl. We arrive home safely and happy to have met some of the nicest people ever.
Pros
The Swan was every bit as nice as I had heard. Ill stay there again.
Espn Club sandwiches were great.
Adventurers Club, everybody should go at least once!
