Just booked this a few days ago. The incoming foot of snow did me in. Anybody else planning this far out?

I have added your thread to the cruise meets list :thumbsup2

We will be on this one! We are following it with the 3-day for a b2b! They will be our third and fourth cruises.

I just booked this yesterday as well :D Possibly doing my own Land & Sea Package :thumbsup2

Welcome everyone!:welcome:

We are doing this for our October trip. Four days over Halloween, and just a couple at the parks afterward. I can't wait! Our girls are young enough that we can keep it a secret for a while!

We are hoping to do Palo and Remy this time around!

Aww, this little thread has grown. Good to see our cruise starting to grow and blossom. I think we're going to skip Remy and Palo since it's our first Disney cruise (first cruise for the kids...DH and I cruised for our honeymoon but that was over a decade ago) and it's so short that we want to enjoy our dinners as a family and experience each restaurant in the rotation.

Rocio, that's our thinking, too! I want to experience it all in the DRs, especially our first time (Oct.). On our b2b is when we will splurge! We did brunch at Palo when we were on the Magic, but didn't want to miss any of the dining at all! Repeats of menus will be a different situation.

We're going on our first cruise, and I read everywhere about fish extenders gift exchange with other cruisers... How does this work? you have to set it in advance?:cool2:

If there is interest, then someone keeps a list of participants, cabins, etc. and sends the list out to all the participants so that they can prepare their gifts for the cruise. There is usually a cutoff date, and possibly some parameters (only people active on the DIS may participate, after X# of cabins we will start another list or divide into smaller groups).

It is lots of fun! The hangers can be made (with or without sewing) or purchased (some have even used decorated bags).

Hello all!!!:wave2:

I just booked my first EVER cruise yesterday. This is it!! May 20, 2012! I am so excited. Ugh....and I still have a WHOLE year to wait! :rotfl: We are planning a pretty huge vacation for us, anyway. We will be getting to Orlando on the 17th and doing 2 days at Universal Studios. Then we are getting on the Disney Dream for our 4 night cruise and heading to WDW for 5 days!!!!

On my last trip to WDW, a friend of mine introduced my to the DISboards and I was HOOKED!! I look forward to getting lot of advice from everyone! Planning these trips is nearly as fun as the trips themselves!! Well.........maybe not THAT much fun!!! ;)

Hi Jaydoe! :welcome:

I love planning! We haven't decided if we will tell dds about this one. Our Oct. on the Dream is a surprise since they have been begging to go.

We found that even though we had watched the dvds, prepped by reading the DIS, and wouldn't be the most surprised new cruisers, we were blown away by it all! I cannot wait for our new friends here to have that, too! It was by far our best vacation ever (but we have yet to do WDW, so that could change!).

The awesome thing is, it is getting close to the 1-year mark...and the countdown is so much fun. For our March one, we did a countdown chain and it really helped the girls see how time progressed. Yours is a bit older, so she will get time passing more!

Ok....so here is the funny little thing about my family vacation. It will be myself, my 10 year old DD and my EX hubby (DD's dad). Yes, very strange indeed, but it works for us. My Ex and I are actually pretty good friends and this will be like our 6th vacation since our divorce. Mostly we do this because we both LOVE Disney and because we have raised our DD the same way. She LOVES Disney. :cloud9:

So, I guess my concern about our trip is the times when my DD will want to go off on her own to the Kid Clubs. What are some good things I can do solo?? :confused3

I think that it is wonderful that you guys can do that! I know that I hope that I could do that if the need ever arose, but I know myself and don't think I would quite make it!

You may want some time to yourself, and there is the spa, alcohol tastings if that is for you (the Dream has a champagne tasting that I want to try!), there is usually a cooking demo at some point. Bingo, drawing classes, towel folding...

There are several things that you can do alone if you choose. I know that on our last cruise, several of the DIS members planned things together (a few guys got together for the tequila tasting). A few got together and did Palo brunch or high tea.

Really it is up to you. I know that I would LOVE to have some time to myself and find a quiet place to just be for a bit. Being able to look out on the water is so serene!

I will have a better idea in November!!!

Man! I thought about it yesterday but never came to post. We are less than a year away from sailing now!!!

Anyone have plans for this summer? We are headed to Texas in a few weeks to visit with family near the beach. Hopefully the water will be fairly warm!

Subscribing! I'm pretty sure this is the one we booked haha! We were supposed to go this year but did not book in time and i was told we are all booked now! I am going with my boyfriends family, it will be my 3rd disney trip with them, our first cruise and my 25th disney trip over all!

This is probably the one we're booking, since my vacation time rolls over on 5/22 and I can extend my trip. :)

:wave2: Hi everyone!!

Our friends that are on the Dream right now just finished booking our very first cruise for the May 20, 2012 four nighter on the Dream!!! :woohoo::woohoo: After four years of me nagging DH he finally caved (it only took me about a year to convince him that we needed DVC) and when I saw our email confirmation last night I did a dance of joy. Already have our stateroom number so last night we were online checking out where it is and the deck plan of the ship.

We will be going with two other families that we are friends with and one of which has done a few (almost 5 I think) DCL trips. We'll be working in a few days at WDW after the cruise for SWW and I am sooooo ready to go.

We will also be celebrating our anniversary and it'll be the first time in a long time (probably 11-12 years) that we are actually going to be doing something for our anniversary other than a family dinner at Fridays.

You found us!

I may have to ask some questions about our Nov trip to WDW! We are staying at BLT MK view for two nights after the cruise!
