May 19th-going for park only?

My husband and I will be leaving California on the day of the POC premier and we hoped to catch a few hours in the morning in Disneyland before we leave Anaheim around lunch time. (we are taking off back to LAX about 12:30pm that day)

Is this going to be a major problem for us to enjoy any rides early that morning due to the premier later that day? I know that many people are coming DL to see the stars, but we really just want to enjoy the park one last time before we leave. Would we be better off just stepping into DL to say goodbye until California Adventure and/or Downtown Disney open up?

the rides probably will be fairly empty if prior years are any indication--everyone else will be sitting on main street all day waiting for the stars to arrive!
