May 18, 2013 MAGIC EBTA - Who is with us?

I booked all our travel through Disney. They have us flying into George Bush, staying at the Marriott then getting transportation to the cruise ship. It is a bit of a bummer because on both my last cruises I was able to watch the ship come in, my first time it came into port at three in the morning and I got up to see it. We also booked two nights in Barcelona post cruise ans Disney is getting us to the hotel then to the airport on departure day. I know that I do have that transportation booked. What is real odd is that when I try and do flights now it states that it is no longer available. So glad I have it booked.

This sure sounds like a "form letter" response.

No one on this cruise will need a "round-trip" transfer from the Port of Galveston back to IAH or HOU -- it's a Transatlantic cruise!

Woody

Exactly what I had thought as well - like it was a copy/paste from a webpage. Now for $60 roundtrip to get us back to that same airport, heck yes, I'd be all over that! $30 to get to ship, $30 to get back home from Europe.... ;)

Thanks for the info! Will they do transportation a couple of days before the cruise? Because we are planning to fly in on the 16th May.

Can I have the email address you emailed please? I want to ask her from a UK perspective, because I've been told we cannot book airfare through DCL :-(

Hi Tink, we get the same answer from DCL as we're trying to fly out of a less popular Canadian location. In order to use DCL flights, I can, but they've said I have to get to a major location first. For me, that's probably Toronto. The quote I got for them was quite a bit less than I had found myself using my normal carriers - until I looked at Iceland air. Their price and mine is now about the same.

Is it just me or do the Madeira excursions seem so much better than Gibraltar? Is Madeira itself that much more interesting? :scratchin

I have to decide whether I'm going to fly back through Paris or London. I just can't decide. I've been to London a couple times on work but wifey has never. Hmm... Dare I try for both? :crazy2:

Go to Paris (via plane, train, or automobile), then take the Eurostar to London and fly home from there. :) Obviously - spend time in both cities!

Wishing everyone a wonderful TA crossing! We have jumped ship and will sail on the Magic 1/18/2013 the 8 night stopping at Key West, Port Canaveral (WDW day) and Castaway Cay with 4 sea days.

I don't have enough posts to PM Binkytell, and we would like to join the FE group. Don't know if someone can pass this along...

sigh - classes started last week - I wil not be nearly as active as usual Since I have papers due every week, 3 lesson plans to write, and an article to write for publication...oh yea - and 12 hour clinical days ON TOP of my regularly scheduled 60hr weeks...gonna be a long semester. ON the good side -it is the LAST ONE! I graduate in Jan. finally. for those who have known me through all of this...finally!!

This is what we are planning. 3 Days in Paris and 3 days in London.

It is also what my 2 daughters and I did in 2010 before a British Isles cruise out of Southampton.

My friend and I will spend 3 days in Barcelona after this cruise ends, and then return home.

Try for both if you are coming all that way :-)
