I will be happy to take you up on your offer to view an electronic copy of a prior Personal Navigator, but I am not yet ready to commit. Once I have seen one I can better assess if this is something I can and am willing to do. Please send it to me. I have added my name to the roll call.

Do join us!! Did you have a great time on the cruise?

We are trying to book the air from Barcelona to Houston first. It's a little tricky with four different mileage accounts haha. But we are coming!!!

We absolutely LOVED the Pixar cruise! Tony was really impressed with the speakers and got wonderful autographs. He accidentally missed the Rob Gibbs signing (I had the invitation under a whole bunch of FE stuff), but happened to see him going into his stateroom. We would normally never bother someone on vacation, but Tony was super bummed to have missed the scheduled opportunity, so he took him a pound of 100% pure Kona coffee beans and knocked on his door. Mr. Gibbs was super nice, very thankful and gracious (Hello, you are doing US the favor!), and drew Tony a super cool picture of Mater! How did you like the cruise? Awesome group. It was our first time participating in FE and SM.

I am only now realizing that you were the couple next to us at the Supervisor's Desk. Right??? I was a little overwhelmed by all of that, so sorry if I looked like a deer in the headlights!

We are IN!

Welcome aboard!! :thumbsup2

Hi, this is Ray of Redondo.

I live in Redondo Beach, California. This is my first time participating in a DisBoards cruise activity and I am looking forward to it. I will be staying is Stateroom 2066. I want to participate in the Fish Extender activity.

As a novice I am curious to know what the Personal Navigator activity is and what it entails if I were to volunteer to lead this activity.

This will be my 8th Disney cruise; the 5th one on the Magic.

TTFN,

Ray

Welcome aboard, Ray! :thumbsup2

We are fast approaching the 200 day mark - cannot believe that some of us booked this cruise in January and now here we are, nearly at the end of October!

Welcome to our new cruisers!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

FYI for anyone staying at the IAH Marriott the night before our cruise, if using DCL transfers you can be picked up from the hotel... no having to go back into the airport dragging baggage that morning. :yay: My TA said you just have to let the front desk know you have DCL transfers when you check in.

Question for anyone who has gone to Paris or going after the cruise. Anyone do a short term apartment rental? If so, who did you use to find one? We are finding our choices as a family of 5 limited and I want to explore the apt. option.

What mileage program are you using? I've found that United seems open up more award inventory early Sunday morning.

My daughters and I booked an apartment in Paris for 3 nights in June 2010 with Vacation in Paris - http://www.vacationinparis.com/. The company was very easy to work with, and all went smoothly. In spite of my limited French - I felt more like a local than a tourist!

Isn't that crazy?!? Many of us booked it opening day. Doesn't seem like that many months ago!

We booked all of our flights using United miles so I stalk the site pretty regularly.:lmao:

I'll hunt through my files and see if I can locate one. If not, I'll send off an e-mail to the person who did create one and see if she'll send me another copy.

A few months ago I posted possible designs for a group shirt. Based on input from those postings I've come up with a design.
I had created shirts for the May Hawaii cruise and this October Hawaii group used the same basic design with updates for their cruise.
The shirts are button down camp shirt style. The price depends on the number the group orders. Once I get feed back on this design I'll post forms for those that are seriously interested. No money would be asked for until I get a final count and price, after the January PIF date.

These images are to show you the concept. Again, based on group feedback, I went with the light color, cream, with a light blue gray embossing of the DCL logo and Mickey head anchor. At the bottom edge of the shirt, is a border. The border is 6 inches in height and the repeat is ever 12 inches. The group felt a patterned shirt looked to much like a Hawaiian shirt and rather then multiple images recommended one large image on the back of the shirt. The design is about 10 inches by inches. I am posting two pictures. One to give you a larger image of all three parts of the design, the background pattern, border print and large image on the back. The rough sketch of a shirt is to give you an idea of the placement.

Let me know if I am in the ball park (GO GIANTS!!) with this.

I posted on Facebook as well, but posting here just in case as well:

"Neat! The only tweak I might suggest is to consider using a Texas state flag for Galveston versus the Juneteenth flag (ending of slavery flag used for emancipation celebrations). The Texas flag might be more recognizable to some possibly."

This website might show some history of the Juneteenth flag, but I don't think it is the official flag of city of Galveston (here is the seal of Galveston). I could be incorrect though.

Hi Folks,

I'm ever so sorry, I set up the Roll Call form to email me when people signed up and then I'd add them to the list. Some time ago - maybe as much as a month, it looks like the auto-emailing at least partially broke and seems completely broke now. So, for close to a month, I only received a small portion of the emails with roll call information. Not that anything was lost. All the sign ups were saved behind the scenes so I just needed to clue into the fact they were not showing up. I just thought no one was signing up. A couple people made it known recently so I picked up on it.

Everyone has now been added. Probably about 15 people. Apologies to all of you that were missed until now. I'm sure you were excited to get onto the list and not getting there must have been disappointing. A few people resubmitted their information a couple times thinking they might have done something wrong. No, it was technology that let us down. I'm picturing a pile of emails stuck somewhere on a Google server just waiting to be freed from limbo.

I mentioned before that I was going to be busy for a while with work. Boy, did I underestimate. Looks like I'll be spending at least 6 out of the next 8 weeks in London on business. Little things like Roll Call updates are not a problem because they just take a moment but if anyone needs anything bigger, please have a little patience with me.

As we seem to be ramping up our organizing, I'll remind everyone that I can give event organizers access to maintain their own pages on the website. Or, if you have a great idea for an information page (or want to add to the ones I already have), I can also set you up. Just let me know.

Have any of the organizers I've already granted access to tried to do anything yet? I haven't yet had any feedback that lets me know I've done it right. :rolleyes1

Looks great, Val!

And Chris, thanks so much for the website update and maintenance! I just added our info. My parents (and maybe uncle) will be joining us, but they aren't doing FE or SM or anything. Party poopers haha.
