No reply yet. I'm scared, but I'm sure they'll keep taking our tuition money and the boys won't flunk first grade haha. They are missing the last two weeks of school.
I'm sure it'll be fine :goodvibes. You mention tuition, so I'm guessing they want the money and won't kick you out :thumbsup2
I've been on the thread since the week it was created (like I know several of us booked on opening day) and do not recall discussion on deciding the group name. I think it may have been just for shirts that Val was creating? I just searched the word "journey" in this thread since that is in the name... and it rarely shows up, so I do not believe it is an official group name unless I missed that somewhere.

Those on Facebook saw my graphic for little tshirts we are making for our family that I uploaded last July there --- it's saying:

"From Tejas to Espana" and some other variations

I just re-uploaded them so they would be visible on the facebook page
Gotta run over there to see it!

Because you don't want them stalking you everywhere on the ship?? Haha :)
:rotfl:

The people on these boards use the term "linked" to mean sitting together at dinner. A DCL CM explained to me that they have 2 kinds of linkage. They call the first "Cross referenced for dining." This means that you want to be seated together at dinner. That's ALL. You can't see each others reservations on line or anything. The other, they call "fully linked." In this case, you do have total access to the reservation of the other. This is the sort you do if one family has 2 rooms.

You just have to be clear with your TA and with DCL as to which "linked" you want. We've done each of them--no problems.
kcashner, you are such a wealth of information! Thank you!
any tips how to spot the fakes? Other than posted from Hong Kong
Or Nigeria :lmao:

I'm going to remove the Jewelry making event from the website. Turns out we would have needed one of us to do it and there hasn't been much interest in the poll results...

Unless there's someone out there dying to show us all a little something and then I can add it back. :)

They are also uploaded to the Cruise website on the new Shareable Artwork page https://sites.google.com/site/onamagicaltransatlanticjourney/home/collected-info/shareable-artwork. If anyone has anything else to share, please PM me a note and I'll send you my email address.

I hear you. My girls are missing the last two weeks of school too. I'll be talking to the Principal and sending my letters in to the teachers in Feb. I've never had any push back but it's still a little nerve wracking to make the request.

No objection. Might be like a small group getting together if it does proceed. Easy to add back in :)

I have to do that as well. Kindergarten is not required here in our state, so technically we don't have to be there, but we tested into a dual language program..... so I will be emphasizing the Spain portion of our trip. It's a form of espanol, right??? Heck, I'm a certified principal myself and it still scares me having to do this.

These are so cute. Do you do art for the boards?

Nope. They are a compilation of pics from the design boards rolled together in PowerPoint. Nothing unique but in how they are arranged as a final graphic.

OK, folks.....I have contacted DCL in regards to a Private Tasting Class. After posting the poll both here and on FB, the majority (by a large number, BTW) of people wanted a Private Mixology class. (this was 75% of the people who voted). The next most popular was champagne tasting, but since Val is handling a Champagne Girls get-together (I think), then Mixology it is.....

I know a few of the rules will be this:
1) Will need to know the first/last name of each person participating, along with your cabin number. Remember, you MUST be 21 or over, and DCL will check this against your registration info.

2) The cost of the mixology will be charged to your cabin, and there will be no refunds once I submit the final list (this won't happen until about 2 weeks before cruise time.) As soon as I know how much per person, I will let you know, but generally it's no more than the non-private classes (last year that was $20/person).

3) There will be a MAXIMUM of 50 people - and this will be NO EXCEPTIONS! If we go over this number, I will add additional people to a waiting list in case someone cancels.

I know there will be a couple more, but I'll post those along with these again.

Here is a link to the sign-up sheet. Please only sign up if you really plan so that people who do want to participate can do so:

If anyone has any questions, please PM me as I don't always get time to read thru all of these threads and don't want to miss something. If you are unable to PM, you can e-mail me at supermom66762 @ gmail.com (you'll have to remove the spaces :) )
