My daughter and I are planning a road trip to a couple California beaches and of course, what road trip in the California area is complete without a quick stop at Disneyland?? ::yes::

I completely understand that there is no single "best" time to go to DL, factoring in crowds, refurbs, hours, etc. There are so many trade-offs and variables to take into account. We have been a few times now and are comfortable managing moderate crowds and know the basics of how to zig when most of the crowds are zagging... ;)

I've read a bit about the long refurbs that are expected, the 60th anniversary, the Tinkerbell marathon, etc., and I'm thinking we might plan our DL days for Saturday 5/16 through Monday 5/18. We would have the longer hours with fireworks, etc on Saturday and Sunday, and then *possibly* slightly lower crowds on Monday. I know grad nights are planned for at least one of those weekend days, but I could plan around that. I would hope that most, if not all, of the refurbs would be wrapped up, but I do know that it wouldn't be guaranteed.

My question is...am I missing something? We are pretty flexible in our trip planning. We don't have to plan around school dates. I was just hoping to fit in a quick visit after spring break crowds, after the long refurbs, and before the summer break crowds. Do you think those dates are feasible, or would you think just diving in to a summer visit would be better? We've been in the summer before, and did ok crowd-wise. Of course, going later in the summer just means more of a wait until we get our Disneyland fix!! :faint:

I haven't worked out yet if we'll be staying onsite or off this time. We absolutely love having early entry every day, but we'll have to see how the budget works out. So, I can't include that in the decision making process yet.

I'm so awful at second guessing myself! :confused3 I plan something and then start rethinking it all. :rolleyes2

Thanks for any and all opinions!! :)

You seem to be aware of all the pros and cons and possible impacts from the 60th etc.

:wizard:

Thanks, HydroGuy. :flower3: I've decided I'm trying to complicate things too much...we will stick with our plan!

Middle of May it will be! :cool1:
