hooksenemy, I plan on making a magnet door deco. as well. I figure it would make it easier for the kids to find the room, and us too! Plus the kids would love it.

I'm confused on the dining times too, did they change that recently? I have a lot of the same concerns, we have early, like the kids falling asleep at the shows, but with 3 little kids I don't think we'll be on the islands too long.

Just wanted to let anyone know that flies Southwest some good Ding rates just came up for March through June 9 for tickets $34 to $39 for us (BWI to MCO) and many other places. This special ends today at 1:30 CST.

We just got 4 tickets for $358 for 4 of us round trip including all taxes, etc.

Gives us another nice credit (from original ticket price we paid) for a trip to WDW later this year.

Dining times are now "staggered" early times are 5:45, 6:00, & 6:15 Late is 8:00, 8:15 & 8:30.

We will be doing door signs, kids did find the room easily that way.

Can someone also confirm lets say it is lobster tail night - can we order it for room service and skip the dining room altogether? Can you still order anything on the dining room menus through room service?

Only Cat 1-3 can order anything off the dining room menu as room service. I dont remember everthing you can order from room service. I remember ordering chicken fingers, cheese plate, CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, milk, Mickey Bars, coffee in a carfe that I ordered around 11pm & it was still pretty warm the next morning. Soda was available at a charge, pretty sure they will still charge for it even though it is free at the drink station.

Hi all
We are sooooo excited. We booked the cruise over 12 mths ago....and are now counting down the days. Our 7yr old son has a paper chain, and each day he cuts a chain off to mark each day getting closer to our cruise!!

Welcome to our thread. You booked 12 months ago, why did you wait so long?? ;) I know some of us booked in Oct 2004 when rates were first released - dang that was time ago....

Our kids do those chain things for Christmas & we always seem to forget a day or two, cant imagine doing one with over 100 links :thumbsup2

Has anyone received an upgrade yet? Cat 1 - 3 are now able to make reservations, next group will be able to on 2/12.

We still have not booked our room at WDW for after the cruise. We were going to stay at All-Stars, but read some reviews & now may stay at Coronada Springs.

shazz 14 welcome to our group.
Can you believe that in just a few days we'll be down to double digits? Seemed like it would never get here.

Anyone started to pack yet? LOL
Have a great weekend

So, when does anyone know which day marks the 90 day window to start making our online reservations?? Is it Feb. 12 or 13?

Hi everyone,

I have few questions. We are booked into Rm 2114. According to Dave's tribute site, that is a noisy room because it is just behind the elevators. Should I look for an upgrade, or go back to our TA and tell her we want another room? The DCL site had several rooms avail that are Cat 9.

Also, what are the door magnets?

103 days left :cheer2:

Here is a great thread on door magnets http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=838817

It wouldn't hurt to see if you can switch rooms. Did you check the room reports on Dis, http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomlist.cfm

Dr. Calvin, what do you mean has anyone rec'd an upgrade yet? :wave2:

I was wondering the same thing. I 've read this several times on the boards and I still haven't figured it out yet. I guess after a few D.C's you learn the language.I'm still getting my feet wet with the dis boards. :firefight :wave2:

We haven't gotten an upgrade, though we would love one. I may call Dreams Unlimited tomorrow and see if we can get a reasonable rate to get a verandah (currently have a port hole). I was reading some of the stateroom reports (Thanks for the link Dr. Cavin) and although our stateroom number isn't listed, some of the ones around us have been said to feel the ship moving. I'm not good with motion sickness at all and neither is our youngest son. I wore a patch last year on our 4 day Wonder cruise and was fine (except having a dry mouth...better than throwing up though!) and plan on wearing one again on this trip. We had a verandah (6546) and never really felt the ship move. My husband and I did a Carnival Cruise in November 2004 and were in the back of the ship and I got horribly sick a couple times (taking bonine the entire cruise). Then again, the ship was much smaller and the water was pretty choppy at times....things were falling off the tables during our meals.

I got all settled in and excited about looking up our reservation on DCL's web site since we just paid it off this weekend and there's a problem right now with the reservation system and you can't retrieve anything. I tried checking out Travelocity to see what rooms are left or how crowded the cruise will be and I can't continue the link since Disney's reservations are down. Maybe they are working on giving us all uprgrades. Wouldn't that be nice!

We still haven't settled on any excursions for sure.

It makes me sick to say this but we had to cancel our reservations before Christmas. There was no way we were going to have the money pulled together in time. So much for our awesome Cat 3 room that we had reserved. I hope everyone has a great time. Next time we make a reservation for this trip we will have the cash in hand to pay it in full upon reservation so this doesn't happen again.

By the way, DrCavin you might be the one to answer this. Did I read somewhere else in these forums that there was a mediteranean cruise planned but the dates just weren't released yet? i would be all over that. Has anyone hear of that?

Katie

Sometimes DCL will upgrade you to another category FOR FREE. Doesnt happen very often, but usually every cruise has some guests upgrdaded. Out last cruise some fellow Diser's were upgraded from a cat 6 to cat 4. You can also purchase upgrades at the port when you check in. They are less expensive than upgrading before the cruise, but usually none are available since the ships usually sail full.

I have read that DCL is going to the Med in Summer 2007. No confirmed details, but they are saying 2 repositioning cruises (one to get the Magic over & one to bring her back) Cruises will be leaving from Barcelona, Spain for 10-12 days. My guess is those are going to be $$$$.

If you were planning on cruising in the summer of '07 you likely will be on the Wonder for a 3/4 day. Book early, because I have a feeling they are going to sell out fast with people wanting to cruise, but not willing to pay to go to Spain.

Out of curiousity I looked at what our cruise would cost if we booked today. HOLLY COW, $3172 MORE than we paid!! That is almost double, we paid $4252 for a Cat 6, now it is showing $7424. Yes it was painfull to wait this long, but it sure was worth it!!!

I just sent Dreams Unlimited a quick email asking how much it would be to upgrade to a category 6 from our current category 8. I've gone around and around deciding if we should pay more or use that money for a couple of excursions, but I certainly don't want to be sick all week either. Those stateroom reports about feeling a lot of movement in nearby rooms scared me! I'm hoping it will be the same $800 or $1200 (I forget exact amount) it would have been originally and not the current cost difference of a 6 from what we paid. The more I think about it, the more I think we'd also use the verandah a lot more over the 7 days than we did last year on the 4 day (hardly at all). Then again, we were off the ship more than we were on it with 2 ports in 3 full days.

I don't want to bank on getting a free upgrade or getting it cheaper at the port because it seems full. I guess I may have luck getting a 6 after the last payments are due if there are any cancellations and not a huge waiting list. I guess we'd have to pay the upgrade in full by 2/12?

Sorry to hear that you will not be cruising. We cancelled as well (for different reasons) but I can definitely commiserate (sp?!) with you. As you can see, I am still checking posts here once in a while. It hasn't quite sunk in yet. Here's hoping that we both can sail on DCL in the future!
