i kind of want to but i don't know if i can get DFi to do it!! he is a pretty good sport, but i think it's gonna take some convincing!!! :worship:

that's good to hear, i kind of heard about mission space, but someone told me there's 2 different versions and to go on the less crazy one

Yeah, my dh and dd ride the "less intense" version. Sulley could give you the exact phrase they use there because that is where she works! :thumbsup2

I would so do it but my DH would never. So I would be walking around and everyone would wonder who I married.

It would be too cute! You only live once!:bride: :groom:

i think he might actually, at least for a little while... he loves me too much, sometimes to his own detriment :lmao:

So do you think the less intense version of MS would be okay for me? Does it spin at all? I just can't handle spinny things, especially combined with the heat. I don't even ride the teacups!

Soarin' won't get you sick. I have been on it 25+ times and I have yet to see anyone get sick. People of all ages ride it with no problems. It is very calm and enjoyable.

Has Delta changed your flight times AT ALL...even the teeniest, tiniest smidge? If so, BINGO! Free change!:thumbsup2 They will change your flight to suit you- even a day earlier, I believe.

RUS-
my DH, Mark, gets sick on a lot of things - hates most all of the 3 and 4-d movies b/c of it. He has no issues whatsoever with Soarin'.

We don't ride the teacups either, Shelly!
The first time I rode them was in 1974 when i was two and I got ill. That was my first trip that I wrote about last year when my uncle threw the cig out of the window of the car and the ash went into my eye and he cussed me out for sitting there :confused3 and then I almost drowned in the three ft pool and then I rode the teacups and almost threw up and then Pooh stood on my baby foot and made it hurt and didn't even know he was standing on it b/c he was so dang fat!:rotfl2: ah, the memories...

I tell ya, I am trying with each trip to have a do-over of that one. LOL.

:rotfl2:

Yes, it is very mild. If you don't like tight spaces, and I mean tight, you might not like that. Otherwise go for it.

The most intense version, is quite freaky. There are a lot of "g's" being pulled against your body. And yes, they do have barf bags. That was my son's favorite part!

Poor Jo! Cigs, drownings, teacup spins and Pooh foot crushings!

Ok here is a secret of the teacups and how not to get sick: sit directly across from someone and while the ride is motion focus your eyes on them. By doing that, you will not get sick. You might get a little bit dizzy, but the ride is really short - DL's is only a minute and a half.

It does not spin at all according to my dd. It tilts and bumps, think Star Tours a little but very different.

Well shoot, they haven't changed our flights! I am calling them tonight. Hopefully it will not be a big deal. If Doug gets home at a reasonable hour I'll have him call. That man is such a work-a-holic that may not happen.

I am outside cleaning my garage doors and house doors. It is a beautiful day!! :goodvibes

That's a great tip. That is the only ride that makes me feel sick!

Well, back to work!

Me too! I can't even look at the tea cups. I always say take me up as high you want and drop me, but don't spin me. Repetition is a killer! :rotfl:

Sulley!
How's Florida???????

Hey sulley... How is everything in the greatest place on earth??

Hey Jo & Mari!
Everything's still going pretty well. It's been pleasant weather wise, not too hot...yet, though it does rain every Tuesday :confused3 It hasn't been too busy as far as parks go....but next week is Easter week, so it's going to be nutty. This is one time I'm glad I work at Epcot, because a lot of my roommates are working 55-60 hours next week, and I only have 47 since our hours don't change other than an extra EMH.

:yay: Hey Sulley!

The MAYers are coming soon!! :snooty: <- Me :snooty: <- Mari :snooty: <- Huggie

YAY!!! :snooty: :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:

so sully... you work at wdw? i'm just learning about everyone now...

Yep, I'm a college program CM, I work at Mission:Space! Go SPACE! :cheer2:

i have a question about soarin... i have pretty bad motion sickness,   and i know soarin is supposed to be pretty bad for that, but is it like "take some dramamine and get over it, baby" or "don't even think about it"?

GO ON SOARIN'!!!!!! I get pretty motion sick on rides, and have had no problems whatsoever with Soarin'....it is my favorite ride on property hands down. I went to Epcot on Monday just to ride Soarin' and then come back home :)

i kind of want to but i don't know if i can get DFi to do it!! he is a pretty good sport, but i think it's gonna take some convincing!!! :worship:

Make sure you at least get a "Just Married" button to wear if you can't get him to wear the ears

There's one very very very slow rotation around the bay on the less intense version of M:S....and only because if it didn't do that the computer would freak out and think something went wrong, you don't even notice it though because it happens while the ride is tilting anyway. If the heat aggravates your motion sickness, M:S won't be a problem....we keep it super cool to help prevent space sickness. It's set to 55 degrees in there, that's why you'll see most of the CMs in long sleeves and/or coats year round there.

Hey Jo- I would do Universal. The kids might like it. It would be a nice change. My windows are open too.

Seacrest- You are too funny. I cant wait for the pics from the cruise. What cruise line are you going on again?

That's awesome that you still love Disney and you get to work there, also! I was afraid working there would ruin it for me... so I just get to sit around and dream about going back... I'm really trying to make it a yearly thing from now on... I don't know if my Dfi  will go for that either... he's pretty burned out on all things disney (already, hahaha) :lmao: oh if he only knew what he was getting himself into :rotfl2:

RF - Your poor DFI.... if he only knew..... i was trying to make it a yearly thing too but my DH does not like that idea. He says next year he gets to pick out the vacation. That means NO WDW for me. It's ok i'm going 2 times this year... in May and in Dec with my parent's and siblings families... there are 13 of us so it should be nice...

Hi all! :)
We're making a long weekend out of our wedding planning session and will be 'Maying' it for the 1st time. I don't know why I never considered staying in May for vacation. It seems like a great time (as if there's a bad time) to be in WDW.
So I'm curious... What the major draw for y'all to visit in May? Is it more of a scheduling thing (with school)? Tolerable crowds? Special events? Other?

Lovin' this thread,
Brian

Sea Turtles - The reason I go in May is i feel the crowds are light and the temps are great. It's nice and warm during the day and cooler during the night. Congrats on your wedding.. If you ahve any questions you can ask them here??? we can help you out?

have you guys heard of edible arrangements?

Yes, I got one when I had Meghan. They are yummy.

i have a question about soarin... i have pretty bad motion sickness,   and i know soarin is supposed to be pretty bad for that, but is it like "take some dramamine and get over it, baby" or "don't even think about it"?

I didnt get sick and my oldest who was 3 and she was fine too.

Huggie - Did you see the new arrangements they have for kids..... I love them... When my DD bday comes around i'm getting those for the party.... they are the cutest things...

This year i'm riding Soarin..... my first time on a roller coaster in 10 years....

Mornin' MAYers-:snooty:

Belle coughed all night again. The third time she came into our room around 3 am and proudly proclaimed "I CAN'T SLEEP"! and I said to her as I was tucking her little self back into bed- "well, darling, when you come into our room and tell us that YOU can't sleep, then it's not just you that's awake, but now it's Mommie and Daddy AND Belle that are awake."

I think she had a 5 year old lightbulb moment. She had never even thought of it before...LOL. So she got to watch Toy Story for a couple of hours in her bed.:woohoo:

RUS- wow, that is a lot of eating! It will be great though. Cali Grill is one of my faves- so good and fun to watch Wishes! from up there.

Welcome Sea Turtles!!!!
I am not going this year in May, most all of us on this thread went last year, and that's how this thread began- we've all been talking for a over a year now. I will be going to WDW this year at Halloween. so far away!!

As far as May goes, it's a lovely time of the year to go. Epcot is beautiful with all of the flowers. The lines at the parks are less than the Holidays and summer. What are your dates and where are you staying? You're getting married? Congratulations! Now, spill it... tell us the details of your trip- you are among friends...:goodvibes We'd love to help you out in any way and offer our opinions on whatever you need. We don't bite, promise.:)

Hope everyone is doing great-
Sulley, please send some of that Florida sun my way- I neeeeeed it! Oooooh, I heard that y'all are expecting record crowds next week. Don't overdo it! :cutie:
Ms April Flowers-:flower3: How'd the garage doors come out? What happened with delta??
Mari-Huggie-Shelly-:grouphug: One day closer, my friends.
Sea- You stinker, you! You're leaving tomorrow! I hope your cruise is an awesome time! Do you have everything packed????
DMM- where are you? what's the news on Roman? Hope you are all okay-

Who did I leave out????? If I left you out, I luvs ya-

Have a blessed day, MAYers!
:grouphug:
