Since we started on this board, here is where I'll put the picture. This is the group with our unofficial mascot, Gideon, who is taking a break from corrupting Pinocchio. Note that Gideon is happily wearing a drink around the world name tag.

Here's what I had:

France: White wine and chocolate mousse
Morocco: More white wine
Japan: The amazing combo platter of sake and ginger ice cream
American Adventure: Skipped drinking here
Italy: A nice Chianti
Germany: Something tall and red with strawberry flavor in it
Outpost: Skipped drinking here
China: Skipped drinking here
Norway: Tall Norwegian beer served by an American
Mexico: Lime green margarita
Canada: Don't remember Canada
Britain: I think I was in the pub. Did I drink anything?

I wish I could recall how I got to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. And I swear I had to work at keeping from falling asleep in the Adventurers Club, but I made it through the show.

Well we just got back in last night. I hope that everyone at the DATW Meet had as great a time as Steve (DH) and I did. Here's what I had:

France - Glass of White Wine
Moracco - Tangerine Daiquiri
Japan - Kirin
Italy - Glass of Italian Chardonnay
Germany - Beck's
China - Skipped
Norway - Viking Beer
Mexico - Tecate'
Canada - Labatt's? (OK, things started getting a bit fuzzy here!)
UK - A Car Bomb and a Tennet's

I don't know how TCNala made it to the Adventurer's Club that night. We did get back to our room at the BCV, but we ended up having room service for dinner that night.
It was great meeting everyone at the Meet. I do know that it will be awhile before we ever do that again!;)

I'm going to have to get on to DR about posting the "before" picture - but we still need to see the "after" photo!

We were so sad we couldn't have stayed longer - I hope y'all had a great time! It was wonderful to have met everyone!

I just happened across this thread, but I'd like to congratulate all of the participants in this little venture. I can only imagine how fun it must have been to stagger through Epcot after your 9th (!) drink of the day. And then to go to Adventurers' Club after that?!? Now that's the way to do WDW! I hope I have the energy to match the feat when I go back!

Note to impressionable children reading this thread: Binge drinking is bad! It's certainly not fun, no matter what these people say! Don't do it!

;)

OMG, Nala - I can’t believe you actually made it to AKL and AC that night. I pretty much drank what you did, expect I replaced the food with an extra margarita. Last thing I remember we were listening to British Invasion. Then somehow I made it onto a bus to CSR. The minute I got into my room I was out like a light (I think this was around 5pm?) I think I stopped at the Pepper Market on my way to my room. I hope so at least, because when I woke up at around midnight there was a (full) container of nachos next to my bed. I ate a couple of them and went back to sleep and slept through the night. I was pretty mad at myself since I really wanted to go to AC that night. But it was worth it since DATW was a blast. It was a pleasure meeting all of you. BTW, who was it who bought me that evil, evil drink in the R&C? Methinks it was Eva & Steve…. I think that’s what put me over the edge. But I enjoyed it – thanks!

hi y'all - here is the "before" picture that we took early in France -

I think that will work-

It was nice to meet you all, and I'm glad that everyone made it out OK- hope the Pal Mickey's made it through OK -

DR

I'm sorry I missed it - we left on the 12th!
One question: Did the Pal Mickey's talk more or less once you reached drink 6 or 7?????? :p
Sounds like everyone had a great time........Cheers to you all!

In case anybody's wondering, Pal Mickey's jokes did NOT get funnier after imbibing. We just groaned louder.

My Mickey wound up saving seats for people at the AC. He's very useful for that. Nobody's going to throw the Mouse out of his chair.

I think we even forgot to take an after picture.

Now I have to be prepared to turn around and go back again - but no more worldwide drinking for awhile.

Pugsley - hi, neighbor - maybe you were visited by the Nacho Fairy.

This is a funny thread and I love the picture. It was taken behind the French bakery wasn't it? I've only tried various beers (not all at once ;) ) but that Tangerine Daiquiri sounds intriguing. I really must try this someday.

That's funny Lisa! We did nearly the same thing. We made it back to our room and woke up around 2am with room service food by the bed. Neither of us remember ordering it. Yikes! Maybe a cm saw us and decided we needed some food.:)

Sorry about the Car Bomb Lisa! I love those things, but they probably weren't the best choice after 9 or 10 drinks.

Looks as if everyone had a wonderful walk around WS. Wish we could have joined the fun.

I have only one question, what is in a "Car Bomb"? I usually have a Guinness or Black & Tan--it might be something I'd like to taste test in a few weeks. ;)

Tess, I wish I could answer your question but I don’t know – I just drink them, I don’t ask what’s in them ;) It was a beer with a shot of something dropped in it (shot glass and all). Tasted kind of like Bailey’s to me (but I don’t know whether my taste buds were still working after everything else I drank). And you’re supposed to chug the whole thing, which I can’t BELIEVE I did. I think Eva will be able to tell you exactly what it is.

A Car Bomb is a 3/4 full pint of Guiness with a double shot glass half Bailey's and half Jamison's. You drop the shot in and down the whole thing at one time very quickly. If you take your time the Bailey's curdles and you have a mess. But they are very good. I'm not a big fan of Guiness, but I really like this drink. Sorry Lisa, I think that drink is what did us in.

I LOVE Guinness and Bailey's--just not too sure about the Jamieson's. What gives me the greatest pause is downing a pint quickly! On second thought--it might not be so tough on a warm day! :D

well, maybe the next time we are all at WDW and are not up to traversing the entire World Showcase we can meet for car bombs at the pub.

Or maybe I'll just go get one myself this weekend...
