You are so sweet! My husband Darrell LOVES the Disney Cruise and is like a little kid. My daughter Abby is 9 and she is so excited. We are actually taking her out of school for the last 2 weeks. We are from Phoenix, Arizona and this will be our fourth Disney cruise. We took a cruise in the mid 90's on Royal Caribbean and hated it! We finally had the courage to try a Disney Cruise in 2001 and we are now DVC members and LOVE the cruise and will forever go. We have met so many nice people that we now consider "family". Thanks for the info about Pirates 3. Also, thanks for the encouragement about my "first thread." I still don't know how to get on the list, but I am learning.

On a different topic some mention, by you I think, concerning star gazing was made. An aspect to star gazing that is not so well know is something called a flash or glint. Really no more than a reflection of the sun off of a flat shiny surface on a satellite. In particular there is a constellation of satellites call Iridium that have very precise orbits and reflection angles that allow very accurate predictions of these glint opportunities.

All that is needed is a GPS (I will be bringing a small hand held unit) and access to the following web page. (not sure if I will be bringing a laptop).

BTW you also mentioned the Half way party. The GPS could also handle this measurement.

First of all my thanks to NHDISNEYLOVER for pointing me in this direction. I am now slowly working my way through the pages and the wealth of info that I am finding. I know I have a bunch of questions and hope you do not find them laughable as this is our first Disney cruise. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary and DD 14th birthday on the ship! The whole thing is a surprise for DW and DD (learned these shortforms from the thread!) We have cruised quite a bit but never with Disney and after much umming and ahhing between cruises have taken a chance here but it seems from reading the posts that we should be looking forward to a great time. Looking forward to "chatting" and meeting!

Another question from a late comer!

What is the baggage weight limit coming back from Barcelona airport?? I have heard several people refer to it, but I am not sure what the official limit is. Is there also the normal limit of 2 bags per person as well???

for most airlines it is 50 punds per bag and 2 bag limit...BUT CHECK WITH YOUR AIRLINE FIRST!!!!!

For many of the international airlines baggage limit is 70 pounds for the first bag (same or lower for the second), definately check with your specific airline.

As others have said check with the airline, but also pay attention to the size limit also. Some of them now have a size limit that might affect you. I was going to buy a big suitcase as a spare but I have to change the size because it is too big for the airline.

I went shopping today! I figured I better since shopping for special occasion dresses always seems to take forever. No luck in that department, but I learned which styles work for me, and which doesn't, so I wouldn't call it a bust. I did find a basic black skirt for $18 at Kohls and also found a cute dress for regular dining and a top on the 80% off rack.

I'm thinking about going to another mall tomorrow, but right now I am wiped out.

They just started to clear the ground for a Kohls here in CHeyenne, That is me when Lynn goes shopping....

Good morning everyone!

We had an eventful evening last night. DH took our DDs to Cocoa beach yesterday. DD-3 saw what she thought was a toy dolphin laying on the sand (purple, shiny, etc..)
So of course she went to pick it up, and OUCH!!! It was a Man of War! She got stung on her fingers and hand. DH got stung on his arm and his friend got stung on his hand.
They drove like 90mph back to our house (about 30 minute drive). As they drove back, I called DD's pediatrician who never heard of a man of war (what? you live in Florida and you don't know what that is???? )

So another nurse called and told me what to do. Basically Cortaid, Benadryl and Advil, plus lots of TLC... We have to watch for swelling and streaking, but she will be ok. She has now proclaimed she does not ever want to go back to the beach...

For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, here it is...

Welcome to everyone who is new. We just keep growing and growing. Having started "late" (though now I think there are a good 100 pages since I came on) I know how hard it is to catch up. I suggst starting with the first post on page 143 and making sure you keep up with new posts. If you have time to get through everything else, awesome! But, if you don't--don't sweat it. Ask any of your questions (don't knock yourself out trying to find the answers in previous posts, we don't mind repeating info. here).

The snow here DID stick last night. We have about an inch and a half. I have to withdraw all of my previos complaints as it is BEAUTIFUL. It is one of those sticky snows that coats every little tree branch and twig. We have been Pixie Dusted

We are also fitting in a grass skirt one way or another! It may not make it home with us but it will make it to the sailaway party.

Misseulalie--What a terrible night for you and your family. The poor little thing. I am SURE she will happily retrun to a warm beach once her hand feels better and you show up at Castaway Cay. How could she resist? You can always reassure her that Mickey does not have these at HIS beach.

I can't imagine how a pediatrician in Florida would have not known what a man o war is. I would think it must be fairly common for something like this to happen.

Debbie--You'll have a HUGE job when room assignments come in. I'm sure wish I could help you. It will be interesting to see where all of us end up.
