V...we love all the pics...keep them coming....

Today is the usual end of the summer holdiay barbeque. We're doing it at Mom's house because my brother is staying there and he likes to cook, so we're letting him. Then he's going to work with the boys Tom and Kris DGSs and clear out the house. Not sure what he's got in mind, but whatever it is, it needs to be done.

Tomorrow I have another appointment with wound care management and my brother will drive me. Thursday is our appointment with the lawyer and my brother is putting together all the documentation.

Yea bro, glad he's home to take care of things...I'm still muddeling along with a cane for support and not much good for anything right now.

I've been doing well with the Nutrisystem meals and sticking to it...it's about 1,000 calories per day. If I don't lose weight with it, I don't know what I'll do. This has got to work for the sake of helping the edema. Today is only the fourth day so it's too soon to tell. In the meantime, I've caught a tummy bug and keep running to the bathroom and I'm feeling very lathargic, no energy at all. Good Grief! Will I ever feel healthy again? Today, it doesn't feel like it, but I know it will turn around, hopefully soon.

Deb,

It may not be a tummy bug... It might be your system cleaning itself out with the new food, etc. This may help with the edema as well. Be sure to stay hydrated and drink lots of water and/or cranberry juice.

So glad your brother is there to help. You really need to focus on YOU right now.

Take care and keep your spirits up!

Totally off the cruise subject but.... I bought a shirt yesterday and it had one of those sticky tags on it that says the size. When I took it off the shirt, the glue stayed on. I washed it but glue is still there. Anybody know how to get the glue off?

We weren't expecting it to be so hot this morning. To give you an idea, it's now lunchtime at Disneyland and weather.com says its 104 degrees, but "feels like 105." OUCH!

Woody

That's MY kind of weather! LOL! We've had our hottest summer ever....not the highest temp ever....but the highest amount of days over 110 degrees! I'm ready for this to be over.

.

We've had the wettest summer since records began!:sad2:

What I loved about Diet to Go was everything was fresh!! No additives. It was like having a chef cook fo you...but it was more $$$$$$$$.

All fresh food and easy to cook is what I like about yours Lisa...the price is not too bad...$300/month for Nutrisystem breakfast, lunch and dinner with 2 snacks a day. DietToGo was just under $500/month for breakfast, lunch and dinner with 1 snack a day. Not unreasonable if the food is worth it and the cooking is to just nuke it. Nutrisystem is all freeze dried and you have to add a boiling liquid and stir and wait. It's easier for me to just pop it in the nuker, especially with my legs. I'll give it a try next month.
:cutie: :thumbsup2 :cutie:

I wonder how the islands and Mexico are faring with the hurricane. It's a 5 now.

I worry about it everytime I see a hurricane coming. I know Tulum, Mexico got hit very bad just recently and we loved it when we were there with DCL. I remember the people and their stories of how they lived. My heart goes out to them. :grouphug:

well I managed to straighten up the living room and do two loads of laundry.

So much for being too tired and not doing anything today!!

Nice try tho'...

I, on the other hand, am sitting here staring out at the fog moving in over Bodega Bay. The ocean is already a white-out in the distance.

Contemplating getting off my tookus and packing things up...

Soon...

Karen

Thanks Venetia, I'm going to love having him here, but I dread walking into the house later for the barbeque....he's been working on it for two days and I know it's never going to be the same anymore. It's going to feel so creepy and weird.
:sad2: :sad1: :sad2:

Oh Deb, I know how hard this is going to be for you. Just wrap yourself in the wonderful memories you have of you mom and the blessing of having such a loving mother. They say it gets easier, but I know that it does not seen like it will. Use the support of your brother and of course your DH John. And remember that crying is ok. I know that after I have a good cry I do feel somewhat better. And I have had many a crying episode lately. You will be in my thoughts today. and pixiedust: to you.

Great pics V! Your girls are so adorable! I just love their Gator outfits!

Been loafing around enough. Have to force myself to go mow if I want to have time to do Tyler's wallpaper border before he comes home.

School stuff is ready for tomorrow. Tyler has had his backpack packed and sitting by the door for a week. A ton of paperwork and signed forms are in my purse ready to be dropped off when we get there. Lunch money for the week in an envelope ready to go. Lunch choices for the month circled (selected by Tyler yesterday) and ready to be turned in. Only thing left is to ask the teacher where the kids eat lunch and how will Tyler know how to get there and then find his way to his classroom after lunch. He's so excited, he's about to burst! Yesterday, every time somebody called us on the phone, Tyler told me to tell that person he starts school in 2 days! :rotfl:

Off to mow. Yuck.

HOLLY!!!!

You need to either borrow a real camera or go out and buy a disposable!! You can't miss his first day of school picture taking event!!!

Go... Now... Get a camera!!!

Well that would be good, but my last week of food before I started this was only hospital food for a few days and empty stomach for a few days before that. It it helps the edema, I'm all for it....that's what has really been my motivation....I need to get these legs healthy....so I can do my ballet and swim in Quite Cove pool and snorkle. I am drinking lots of water...and I LOVE cranberry juice.

So glad your brother is there to help. You really need to focus on YOU right now.

That's exactly what I have been doing!!!

Take care and keep your spirits up!

Absolutely!!!!

What about you??? Watching any movies during your weekend away? Are you and Ted finally resting and recouping for a little bit after such a long hard schedule? I hope so, you both need to so that you can stay healthy also.:wizard: :hippie: :wizard:

Thanks Vanetia, we're getting ready to go over there now...it's around the corner. It is what it is....if it makes me cry, then I'll cry. At least it will be a good barbeque all together so that will be the first good memory...after. Thanks so much for really knowing what it's like. It helps to share.
 :cloud9:

Well, that confuses me, because the man I spoke to confirmed the phone number you gave us was indeed the location that he booked me thru, but he said Douglas... so I might have to call back and confirm that it should be : East OCEAN BLVD. CORRECT???

Yes, the closest rental agency to the port is East Ocean Blvd, it's only 6 miles away whereas the Douglas location is at LB Airport and is much farther away.

Just called Budget and they did have me at the correct location... I must have written down the Douglas Street from earlier in the conversation... thanks LiserAnn for making sure I had my ressie correct. Such a sweetheart!

You're welcome!!!

Foggy and cool here in Bodega Bay. It's around 90 at our house in Martinez.

Not really looking forward to going back home to the heat...:scared:

DD and DH are golfing...

I'm supposed to be getting the house packed up...

Soon...

Yes, lot's of relaxing!!

We watched "Wild Hogs" and "Panic Room". We also re-watched "The Italian Job" one of our favorites. popcorn:: I was the only one that made it to the end though!

We went to a new restaurant yesterday for an early Anniversary celebration. It is called "Nick's Cove" and it is in a town called Marshall on Tomales Bay. It was an old place that the famous restraunter Pat Kuleto remodeled and it is a very cool place.:thumbsup2

Super busy there! It was also the nicest weather by the coast that I've seen in a while! It was 80 degrees and clear all day. We had a lovely meal, but the service was very slow.:confused3

We ran into the cellar master for Kuleto Wines while we were there. I actually had a weird feeling that I might see him there... not sure why. He and his wife were also celebrating their anniversary, which is today. They had come to our wine shop a couple of months ago and had brought the Kuleto wines for us to try. Very, very nice couple.

OK, I really need to get to work...

Now...:rolleyes1

Just eaten - salmon, new potatoes, green beans and carrots. Too full for our strawberries as yet - my piece of salmon could have fed the both of us!:rotfl:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Always seems a little sad when summer ends, but our autumn, your fall, is lovely too. And there will soon be snow on the snowman cam!

I liked watching the Niagara Falls cam last winter as the ice got deeper and deeper too.
Your meal sounds so wonderful! I'm being naughty and eating Doritos with salsa. I just had a craving for it.

I don't even want to think about the snow on the snowman cam! I just can't stand getting all bundled up before going out, taking shoes to change into when we get where we're going, shoveling, scraping the ice off the car, etc. Yuck. But Tyler's looking forward to sledding, so that will be fun. Last year was his first time and he's hooked! And trudging back up the hill each time is great exercise for both of us! :thumbsup2
