*singing* "Aruba, Jamaica, ooooooooh I wanna take ya....." Oh great....look what you started! Now Kokomo will be running through my head all day! I LOVE that song! :goodvibes

I was just listening to that song the other day. One of the girls from my other cruise made a CD for us and it has that on it. :goodvibes Glad you are off now. Sorry it has to be to the doctors.

I get darker to begin with with two tans, plus I have it done at a spa. I use the extender products which makes it last almost two weeks.

John,

I am so sorry to hear your father is not feeling well. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Noel,

Sorry to hear about your DH's aunt. My prayers are with your family as well.

Thanks you. I will be sure to tell DH. She was in a great deal of pain and was at home with her family when she passed. The sisters all gathered together for one last time just a few days before she passed.

The Baltimore Sun had an article about this today. I confess I haven't read any of the books. I've only seen parts of the first movie. :rolleyes1

Ok, I know you are saying "Enough with the Harry Potter already", but this article had me :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: . And then you have to check out the music video on youtube that they talk about. It features Snape and the song "I'm too sexy". It's a scream. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I don't know how to put a link in here. Sorry.

OK. No more Harry Potter talk. I promise.

Oh, all these theories I had never thought about. Since I am out of books right now, I think I need to restart the whole series and read them all again before July. I might catch some of these clues. We will all have to post when we are done with the last book so we don't spoil it for anyone. Last time, I got the book at midnight, and finished it by 6 am (yup, didn't sleep, had to finish!). Then I was sad because I knew I had to wait forever for the next book.

I did the same thing. We will not post until everyone is ready!!

Noel, :grouphug: to you and your family. So sorry to hear about your loss.

Thank you for your kind words. I will be sure to tell DH.

Noel

John and Amy,
I hope your father is on the road to recovery. Well wishes and prayers during this scary time.

Harry Potter
That is something I need to get into. I have never read a book. My DD has only read one. I will have to start reading them.

Aruba
Has anyone thought about what they are going to do in Aruba? Did the other repos stop there?

If I had only read the first one, I could have not gone back to the series. But the second and thrid ones really get you invested in the characters.

Hi guys,

I wanted to drop a post in here because I have no idea when I will get the opportunity to catch up now , or post . . .

Some of you are aware that we lost my mom the week leading into our cruise with the “Geeks” this last December. I got mom to the hospital the Saturday before our cruise, and by Sunday evening she had passed away. We ended up delaying our trip by a day, and going on the cruise with a heavy heart, which was uplifted by all of our friends here.

Well, yesterday I got a call from where my dad goes for physical therapy that he had passed out while there, and they called 911. So I spent a good part of the day and evening at the hospital yesterday. Dad is in good spirits, and is stable, but they have discovered a clot in each leg, low blood count, and fluid on his heart and his lungs (congestive heart failure). He is now in the coronary unit of our local hospital.

I am optimistic that dad will be fine, and that he is under good care.

We are hopeful for a good prognosis, and hopeful to still leave for a week on Friday.

Saying prayers for you and your dad....my mom just went through the same exact thing....the blood clots, the heart, low blood count, but her lunds were good, it was her kidneys that failed. She was in cardiac care unit too. She's fine now....and hoping your dad will be too! Stay positive and know that everyone here will be sending positive prayers for you. :grouphug:

I lost both my parents. One to a terminal disease and one to a tragic sudden death. The fortunate thing (if that term should even be used) about a terminal disease versus a sudden tragic death is you can say goodbye. The bad thing is it is very painful and takes a long time to recover from being care giver to mourner. I am only 34 and have lost both parents. The most pain for me has been not being able to share the joy of my girls with my parents. We lost DH's mom last April so we are down to one Grandpa who lives on the East Coast. We have flown out 3 times in the past 2 years because I think it is so important. I am thinking Florida would just be a better spot for us.:goodvibes

Sweetie, I work in a bookstore, . I will have the book at store open, although I can get an extra 6% off the cover price via Chapters and get the book at midnight, hmmm. I think that I will re-"read" the second book, then listen to the others before the 7th comes out. But it will be nice to have all 7 on my ipod. I have two copies of each book, the mass market cover and the adult cover.

Talk away, I will be with you all.:coffee:

I had to go back an reread your original post about being on the waitlist at the library. I was :confused3 :confused3 . Natural state for me, I know. I think I get it now. You read the books, but get them on tape/cd from the library to listen to, as well. That's what we do. I've read for listened to each one multiple times. Forgive my blondness.

Hey, I dye my hair blond to look smarter, I so get it, lol. (completely said in jest, although I do dye the hair.):upsidedow

Sorry guys-I've been gone for the past few days and I realized there is NO WAY I can catch up. I tried and the only post I was able to read (guess I was meant to read it) was John's...

John, I'm really sorry to hear about your dad's health troubles and I will keep him in my prayers.

If there was anything else I missed of importance since Sat afternoon, can someone please post it. I am curious to know who got 10K (I hope it was someone from our thread).

Thanks!!!

lisa, Kari got it, only a couple of EB pirates were around and they were Geeks.

Are you a real or fake blond. I have brown hair no dying with grey (need a serious tint job) but still act like I could be a true one. Sorry to offend any natural blonds out there where ever you are!:r P.S this was the first time I put color on my hair. It was only because of the grey. I know live a little! My smilies got taken out when I edited. J.K about the blond jokes.

I finally spoke to Javier today. who's the manager at Storyteller's. I called him a few weeks ago and he never called me back so today when I called, I left a message which was terse, but nice....I guess it worked because today is his day off and he called me back!!! :thumbsup2

He's going to get us all set up and call me back on Thursday (he's off today and tomorrow) with final details but the bottom line is as follows:

When - Sunday, May 20th
Time - 5:00PM
Where - Storyteller's, Grand Californian
Meal - Buffet (large variety of food)
Cost - $26.99/adult; $11.99/ages 3-9
15% gratuity added automatically to bill

He said for parties this large they only do buffet, so there's no option in matter. And for a group of this size, I think that works out better so that there's not any confusion with the bill, etc.

These are the people who indicated they're coming...if you've changed your mind, please PM me back so that I can tell him to remove you from the reservation:

LiserAnn, 4 (2A, 2C)
clynne, 4 (2A, 2C)
ibouncetoo, 1 (1A)

If I got the adult child ratios wrong, please let me know...and if more of you want to join us, please PM me with your name, party size and # of children to adults.

That should do it!!!
