Sony Bravia XRB 1080p 46" LCD here. Great blacks, and great viewing angle.

Hey - that's the one we got for Christmas too! We are really enjoying the HD channels. Problem is we have Directtv so local channels are not in HD.

We are off in a few hours to board our plane to Houston. Our Princess cruise leaves on Saturday out of Galveston. Nervous, never been on a cruiseline other than Disney. Will see how it goes. How can it still not be fun though?! It's a vacation in the Caribbean afterall! Will share a report and photo's if anyone is interested upon our return.

Also scared to come back to a hundred pages to catch up on!

Please help us out and cheer on the Ducks in the Big Dance.

Go Ducks!

Hi all:)
I'm up extra late tonight as dd is off on her college trip in the early hours of tomorrow....2 am to be exact!:scared1: After the debacle of the Russian visas they are flying to Latvia for the day, then spending 5 days in Berlin. They're glad to go, but are still very disappointed it's not St Petersburg, and it mean they don't get it be involved in the model UN.:confused3

Anyway it means I get to stay up very late and I'm hoping the boards will help me there.....

Cracking up to scratch in Coventry?:confused3

:rotfl:

Now you're just confusing me!:goodvibes

I'm in the que (see I kept up with some of my British slang...) for this class & DOD.

I Would like to be among the first to sign up for the class, as long as there is no limit on DOD's!:woohoo: That might tend to make the class most interesting.:lmao: :lmao:

Doug

Sign me up for this one! Being a devout Anglophile I'll love adding more expressions to my 'file' :thumbsup2
.

Mandy,

Sounds like lots of fun!! Especially after a DOD or ten (I mean two, right?):rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Karen

Sounds look a good plan then?:thumbsup2 By the time I've had a few (several) DODs I'll be talking complete nonsense at you all and I'll just tell you it's British slang!:rotfl2: (so what's new eh?);)

The name Coventry sounds like it's a nice place. So where is Coventry and how do I get there?[:wizard:[/QUOTE]

As Maz said, Coventry is in the Midlands near Birmingham, sadly not a particularly 'picturesque' part of England.

For a piece of useless trivia...those who have heard of the infamous 'Lady Godiva'(c. 990? – September 10, 1067) ...she was an Anglo-Saxon noblewoman who, according to legend, rode naked through the streets of Coventry in England in order to gain a remission of the oppressive toll imposed by her husband on his tenants. The name "peeping Tom" for a voyeur comes from later versions of this legend in which a man named Tom watched her ride and was struck blind.

So there you go!:thumbsup2

English family here...

mom born in North Hampton
Grandma --- Coventry
Grandad --- North Hampton

I always though Grandad (or one of them) was born in London and never realized Grandma was born in Coventry....guess I don't know much about my family --(I just called mom to verify!)!! My mom and Gma have their green cards still.....

Yup, lot's of LIVE, LIVE, LIVE going on!!!:rotfl2:

No crazy times tonight. Too darn tired. Tyler was up about every 20 minutes ALL night, crying like he did when he was a baby. Couldn't tell me what was wrong. I'd ask if his stomach still hurts and he'd say, "I don't know", and I'd get the same answer to every single question I asked. He didn't want to be comforted and got irritated when I'd try talking to him to see what's wrong. He'd say, "would you just quit talking to me"? Strange because he hasn't woken up at night for about 2 years. Didn't eat any dinner last night and was asleep by 6:30 (usually up 'til 8). Only ate a little breakfast this morning, and only a few bites at lunch. When I asked if his stomach still hurts he says he doesn't know. Acting very quiet and not laughing or smiling much. It's the strangest thing. :confused3

Only if it is trainable, behaves, doesn't bite (too hard!), and doesn't pee on the rug!! Oh, and it helps if it is really cute, cuddley, and does whatever you ask!!!:rotfl2:

Karen, living vivaciously through Holly...:thumbsup2

Karen, I'm beginning to think you and I will get along perfectly! :rotfl:

:rotfl: You've been cracking me up lately!

Woohoo...a real Coventry lady! (tho not related to Lady Godiva? ;) ) I have family in Northampton too :)

Mandy,

If I am not mistaken "ey" or "aye" is mostly a Canadan term used here in the east and mid-west part of the US. Most of the folks from up north don't seem to be able to complete a sentance without it. Now we know where it came from and who is responsible..:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :lmao: :lmao: Thanks,
Doug

Holly, hope Tyler sleeps better tonight, maybe he's coming down with something? Hope not! :( Fingers crossed for you.....

No, but I'd love to! I find myself lingering around the TVs in Costco, dreaming of the day...

ME TOO! But at Sam's Club because we don't have Costco here.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that remark!:) :dance3:

:rotfl2: :lmao: Well, I'm glad too! I figured everybody would wonder what on earth I was talking about!

It's me the evil school nurse.

Could he be constipated?

Okay I have all 4 wisdom teeth as a 50 year old. One of them cracked 5 years ago and I was told to remove all of them....of course I did not do it as it did not hurt!! Well, yesterday another big chunck of that same tooth came out...stil doesn't hurt...but I have to get them out, I know!! I really do not want to do that!!

I also have all four wisdom teeth, took years of fighting the pain. I hate the dentist, so now I have all four, wonder when mine will break down.
