Monica.....LOVE the hair, don't like the Mickey cuff links.....thanks for the pics, but I agree with you and we'll just wait and see if they get better ones in.

What made you do the hair? It really looks so cool and awesome on you. I like it.

We did John's birthday and now I can tell you his gifts.....he got SeanJohn's Unforgivable because I LOVE the smell of it. I got a free sample of the woman's when I bought the men's. I keep smelling my wrists all day long because I love it. I thought we could have matching scents for our dress up nights onboard. Can you say......OCD on the coordinating thing......YES, but it works for me. Then he got tickets to a theatre show......Stomp.....it's playing locally and he said he loved shows like that. So we're going next Sat night and I get to enjoy that one with him. That was a surprise! Then he got his favorite.....two dragons to put one on each side of his truck. He's been drooling over them for some time and had forgotten about them.....BIG SURPRISE. They really are nice.....here's a pic:

babybday08013.jpg

That's it! He was very happy....then we had champagne and cake! A nice little celebration at home. The kid was there with us too. My bro called and John said that Sandi called him today at work and he spoke to the boys too. All's well that ends well! It was a nice birthday for John.

You all went out of your way to post some very happy birthday greetings. Thanks for all of those, you were all very thoughtful. I loved them. He didn't get a chance to get online today at work, so he's reading them all right now....I'm sure he'll post a thank you when he is done.

Deb,

That is the coolest Dragon art piece!! Would love a pic of them on his truck after they are in place!!

ok my frist draft for excursions:

Castaway Cay - pretty much beach it and maybe a bike rental $18 plus drink/souvie money

Aruba - jeeps ~$75 rental plus food/drink and souvie money

Cabo - water taxi to Medano Beach via Los Arcos, Sea lions and Lover's beach, hang at Medano and then back to ship. Water taxi is around $10pp, hopefully they discount for the girls...no big deal if not, plan on eating lunch at one of the restaurants at the beach so money for that

Acapulco - Cliff Divers early..not sure of the cost, then cab to a beach

PV - either rent a jeep and go through the sierra madre mtns to Chico's and other beach spots or walk from the port to the Krystal and use their facilities and umbrellas on the beach there.

Hi

I still have not decide yet as only one my family want pirate at PV.

So my friend Alison and Dave are coming tonight for meals and we discuss what we do for each port.

Everyone seem about Cliff Divers? Is these good? Should we go and watch it? I have no clue about it:confused3 Is professional divers? Oh well maybe stupid question again.;)

I think i better start to read cruisecritic soon as it might give me some idea.

Entrance fees to the lighthouse if you go in. Donations for all the churches, and fees if you do the fort in Aca.

Monica - Love your hair! I knew I was fat but boy does that picture make it worst!

I need some advice. I had trouble with my TA when we first booked this cruise and since we booked haven't heard one word from her. When I email to ask about certain things she doesn't reply back one of her coworkers seems to do so. My dilemma I have is that DU will offer a $600 OBC on top of the one I am getting from Disney but how do you go about asking a TA to release the reservation?

UGH! There is a huge OBC difference and i'm unhappy with the service I'm getting but I also don't want to cause any problems by switching companies.

Have any of you ever switched TA's?

You should definetely DO the cliff divers. They train from about the age of 5. They have to be very precise when they dive or they could be die if they are off a little.

Here's the All....

http://www.minimus.biz/detail.aspx?ID=7987

I've also heard of people going to the local laundymat and getting soap boxes there - you just have to be careful and wrap them in ziplock bags - not sure if anyone has had problems flying with them.

I've bought the single use Tide in the box at our Safeway. We had no trouble flying with them in our checked luggage. I am thinking about shipping the All down with a few other things to our hotel. I would send the box to the port, but have seen Shirley's post about the restrictions concerning liquids to the port.

Ok, so I'm thinking about planning another Southern Cal DISmeet. I've been busy with work (I work out of my house) so I would love help with suggestions as to where to have it at. Last time we all met at Storyteller's, which was a blast but expensive ($28/pp) because with our group size (38 adults and kids) they would only do the brunch. I'm fine with wherever...and DTD is fine also, if that's centrally located for all.

So, please PM me with your location suggestions and also if you'd want to come, how many would be in your group.

Thanks!

That sounds great! We've found the Naples patio to be an excellent meeting place. Will PM you. Dates in mind?

What school are you working on your Ph.D at? We had a great cognitive program at Oregon where I received my Ph.D.

Will PM you with the school, wish my school had a great anything. It's so small that it's all about what you make of it. I'm on the extra slow track to finishing, trying to decided on my dissertation now, but the statistics are slowing me down.

 By the way, I just realized that I was thinking final payment was due on 2/10, but my TA's receipt said 1/31/08, so if you're not paid off and you have a TA check your date!

I just realized that I said in my first post that we were lecturers and speakers DUH, a little redundant? I meant lecturers and writers!:rolleyes1 Maybe I don't really know what I do!:surfweb:

I think Lisa has all that info and when we are 90 days out, she will provide it to us.

I had a nice long bath and now the girls and I are watching Belle's Magical Xmas on my bed.

Your existing TA needs to send a fax on company letter head to DCL letting them know that they are releasing your res back to DCL. Then once that's done, you can get DU to pick it up.

Re my hair....

I'd been growing it out for the last year + after I heard about Locks for Love. It is an organization that accepts donated hair and then transforms that hair into wigs for kids who have lost their hair due to cancer or another illness.

If you donate under 10 inches they will sell your hair and use the $. If you donate 10 inches or more, they will use your hair for the wigs.

I figured it's only hair, and if I don't like it this short, it'll grow back. I've actually had my hair this short before, but it's been years! It will take some getting used to again!

It will be weird to wash it and have so much less to wash, and the drying! It'll take no time now!

Karen - thanks for mentioning the shop over at MGM (oops, sorry..Disney's Hollywood Studios :lmao: ). I hadn't thought of that one. Will try to head over there soon.

John - glad you had a good birthday. Love the dragon art!

Thanks to everyone who commented about the hair....you should have seen me at the salon yesterday...I was so anxious/nervous!

HOWDY everybody! Finally dragged myself out of bed and up to school to suck up some of their wireless internet and get my DIS fix! ;) This will probably be my only chance for the weekend to get on here, unless I can drag Tyler to the library.

Monica, I love your new hair! Looks great! :thumbsup2
