Gee that banana gets around, does he collect airmiles?

I think he arranged an automatic donation of his airmiles through the USPS to Make a Wish. (would be neat if he could)

Passport ? Photo ? Tell me more. We may need one of those for Bobby two, er, uh too.

I bought the passport at a craft store in the scrapbooking section. Fits the pocket of the Speedway lanyard perfectly!

THE GIANTS ARE IN THE SUPERBOWL!!!

I'm so shocked and elated!!! I did fall asleep, but then I woke up and rewound and watched and when they had to go into overtime, I knew it was over because they lost the coin toss. Then I watched them steal the ball back and have another chance at a field goal and just could not believe that they got it! Talk about a nail biter!

I know they don't have a chance going up against the partiots, but at least they're in the 'show' and they have a good chance to try. Now the superbowl is going to be twice as exciting to watch for me. I'm so excited, I still can't believe it! GO GIANTS!

On our 'bank' holidays(our term for your public ones) it is banks, government and everyone else!!!

Marilyn,

Are all worker's holidays regulated by law in the UK?

Here, the only holidays regulated are really the government workers. All those in private industry are free to follow that schedule, or not, or negotiate one of their own.

Our employees in our company are union, and have six paid legal holidays, and 3 personal holidays every year. And, even though they may get paid for a holiday (like New Years Day) we can still be open - any holiday but Christmas (based on our union contract).

The banks close on government holidays here probably because it is impossible to fully transact business with all the government offices closed.

John I think basically it is a holiday for everyone, apart from essential workers. Only in recent years have shops begun to open though not all of the holidays.

Easter is a strange one as the Bank Holidays are the Friday and Monday, but when I was young my parents had Monday and Tuesday. Don't know why though. Some bank holidays the government offices have extra days, but not the banks, and it is not general.

That is too funny!

The legend of Bobby Banana keeps on growing!

Wow this site is slow again today.

A strange one here is that the only day shops are NOT allowed to open is Easter Day. I wonder how long that will last.

Well our family is cruising with you on this wonderful Panama cruise. We are so excited. I regret however that I have not been able to keep up with this thread. It is a lot different from others I have been on. Not too much cruise talk, and vacation planning going on. We have been really busy getting rental car and hotels lately. I would love to hear from others as to what your plans are. We will be flying in on the 9th. Overnighting at the Sheraton in the Coco Becah Surf company, and then boarding early. After this cruise we are renting from Avis .2 miles from the port, then heading straight to DL for 2 days. Then on to Malibu. Vegas, and finally 1 day in Sonoma and 1 day at pier 39/Alcatraz in San Fran. Then sadly flying home. This will be a wonderful 24 day vacation for us. We are so ready. I went and bought new Mickey luggage, and am getting ready to make the Mickey head paint chips from Home Depot luggage tags. We have designed our door signs and such. I will hopefully be able to print them soon.

I just had a minute to check in and thought I would grab it. I am sorry that I do not get to post much. I try to catch up each day at some point, but I am lost. I see something about lanyards...but again....lost :confused3

That's why I'm doing the SNUBA. I want to make sure I can handle the depth w/ SNUBA first before I go for the C card. I figure I didn't want to spend the $ to get certified if I couldn't handle it :lmao:

Ahhhh - I can see you are hooked already......

Hi and welcome. Just me and hubby John on the cruise.(Well and a few hundred others!:lmao: )Yes this thread moves at an alarming rate - there are some great chatters here(naming no names but you know who you are!!!;) )!!!!

As far as cruise plans we discussed loads just after we all booked, then it seemed there was nothing else we could do till near final payment. It has all got going again now.

We have a website which you need a password for from Pjpoohbear. You can pm her or wait till she comes on here - she is often around. She designed the inserts for the lanyards in the last few pages.

Just jump right in and ask questions - folk are lovely and helpful here.

Going to be a fab cruise.:dance3:

my mom called me early this morning. She went to the boutique shop in Plant City and cleaned them out of ruffle socks and picked up some party dresses for the girls. The store was 1/2 off everything...the socks end up being less than $1 and are really nice good socks. I hope the dresses will be ones they are able to wear on formal and semi formal nights.

With the tree out of here and the room rearranged, the girls finally have their housekeeping area back!

Glad to see I am not the only one who was late with removing the Christmas decorations....I am almost done...I keep finding a hidden ornament...
(no not Mickey).

There's a group of us having dinner at Grill's the night before the cruise if you would like to join us. Everyone is all over in the excursions. Some are just beaching it, some are zip-lining, and in Aruba there is a large group renting jeeps. Right now the lanyards are in the planning stages but the tags are designed. You can print your own tag off at anytime from the shipofthieves site. I have most my door signs done but am still waiting for room assignment. We will be staying 4 nights after at the DL hotel.

I'm scared of the water too:confused3 yet growing up I loved the beach and a lot of my friends surfed (my husband was a surfer too and surfed Sebastian Inlet...best waves in FL...nothing like Hawaii though) I don't really go into the water except to rinse out the sand. My parents let me watch too many scary movies too young...Jaws and Pirahna left a huge impression on me. I'm even scared in the pool. DH tells me how when he surfed he would see fins sometimes surfing but didn't know if it was a shark or not...depends if the fin goes up and down or glides straight like a shark:scared1: I feel safe at CC though because of the netting and stuff. I actually went swimming with the stingrays at Grand Cayman on the sandbar..........well for about one minute and then got out so I could say I did it:thumbsup2

My DH took me to see JAWS opening night - the night before my first open water dive....no wonder I took a 30 year hiatus!!!!!!

Love the stingrays at CC....It was lots of fun, ..... Boy are they fast.

Welcome!

This IS very much like other groups I have been involved with, but that may be because some of the people are the same characters!:lmao: (and I don't mean Mickey and Minnie) I know that some people are just interested in the cruise planning info, and it is interspersed here amid our "blether" (new word I learned from this thread).

PJ, however has done a great job of including just trip planning info on her website for our cruise. Send a PM to pjpoohbear and she can get you hooked up so that you can access that site.

Otherwise, some of us have been friends here for quite some time, and some are new, but we like to share life and get to know each other better before we cruise. We tend to talk a lot, and that probably puts some people off. Feel free to jump in as you can!

Just finished watching Stepmom with Julia Roberts, eyes all watery and nose stuffed up.

Pj

The "nice" Californians are on the DIS ;) !

(coming from someone who's NOT a native Californian :rotfl: )

I am a native Californian. I was born in Orange. I hope I am nice. I was raised in Montana and California, which gave me an Orygun accent....:rotfl2:

Good job, PJ. I'd have a hard time deciding between the Castaway Club or Champagne Girls.

Lordy....more then a dozen pages to catch up on in as many hours...isn't anybody sleeping anymore??

Does anyone on here geocache?

Have any of you that know what I am talking about, done it on a cruise (in the ports that is)?

Just curious how well it worked on excursions and the like as I see there are a few around the ports we will be at and I might be able to fit a few in with the excursions.

thnx a bunch

I did not want you to think we are all ignoring your question, but I have no idea what geocache is.....so I guess we don't do "it". :confused3

Do you all have the day off today?

I do, I work for the Federal Government. Dennis will be working from 11am to 8pm. The stores, and therefore the pharmacies, are open.

Wow this site is slow again today.

A strange one here is that the only day shops are NOT allowed to open is Easter Day. I wonder how long that will last.

And here Easter is not even one of the legal holidays. :confused3

WELCOME There has been lots of planning among the chatter and, as Marilyn said, PJ has that all combined in one place. She will be happy to give you the link. The website is a great place to catch up on everything. We also have gotten to know each other thru the chatter and with this group of incredibly nice folks that is a GOOD thing! Please jump right in whenever you can.
