Just had our tea. Only a salad for me and some fresh fruit as I was naughty earlier and ate a whole bag of those children's jelly chewy sweets - snakes actually. A real weakness! They were sooooo good.:rolleyes1

Here's a few pics of the pillowcases and picture mat I made for our 2005 cruise....

The pillowcase is for a smaller sized pillow and I bought it at Pottery Barn Kids. The Mickey and Gang picture is an iron-on as is all the text.

The picture mat is self explanatory. (We would have liked to have Mickey but Daisy was the best picture of the boys.)

On day one I brought both items to guest services all in a baggie with an index card with our name and cabin number on it. At the end of the cruise I went to guest services and picked them up (some report they are in their cabin but ours wasn't).

I love the pillowcases Lisa! Where did you ge the iron-on piucture and text? Did you buy them or do them on your computer and then print them out? They look fabulous!

Now tell me what wonderful husbands you all have who go up and get early morning coffee!:lmao:

okay that husband would be mine :rolleyes1 .... I told you, his nickname is Pope Paul....

:confused3 This actually happens? :confused3 :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm almost afraid to mention that he has gotten it not only for me but for my girlfriends too...one day their husbands are going to punch him in the nose for making them look so bad....:scared1:

hmmmmm note to self, might have an alternative on Fish mail...coffee delivery service on the last day....:lmao:

I guess now would be a bad time to mention that on the last bit of time on vacation he sends me and the kids out to play so he can pack us up to go home....oh man I'm digging my own grave here huh?

wilson lost the (snaggle)tooth...this morning...and was very happy....I never got the egg attached to my laptop (good thing the pictures were gross)

I'll try to snap some of the new pics toothless grin, it's pretty darn cute.

Oh no!!!!! I just realized by baby is growing up!!!! Don't cha wish sometimes you could just freeze them in the stage they are and also have the clone next to them continuing to grow and explore and delight us with all of the newest in their lives...

okay, back to food....

I want the room next to yours!!:lmao:

I find the holiday, book it, book everything else that goes with it, plan it, shop for it, pack, unpack, tidy the room etc, get my own morning coffees, wash, iron, pack again, unpack when back home, wash, iron and put away!!

He does pay for it though!!:rotfl2: Oh, and lifts most of the suitcases, and moans a bundle abut how heavy they are!!!

I'm glad the tooth came out soon. They do look so cute don't they.

don't forget I have 2 little kids, one (DD) that holds on for dear life to new friends (yes she loves adult friends) I warn you with the good (DH coffee service) you get the bad (clingly kid(s)) and ugly (me in the morning)

I find it, book it, plan it, shop for it, obess over it, pack for it (ok he does help and packs his own bag) & pay for it (I claim whatever I earn goes towards vacations right now....Paul keeps hoping it will turn towards retirement, but that's just not fun enough for me (right now), I know soon enough it will be private school (high school and college) so for now I work for Disney, or at least to pay for Disney)

he also lifts the bags, but knows not to complain anymore, it hurts my tender feelings ( :lmao: )

Thanks for the info - totally agree about the prepaying!!

We're planning to drive up for the meet also but will probably try priceline a couple of days before for a hotel. We've done really well - a couple of weeks ago we stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Anaheim for $80 (including taxes and fees). (we're in Santee so we go past Fallbrook on the way)

Hey, we used to live in Santee, off Mast (on Flora Camellia Court)! And, another rental home...geez, can't remember the street name, but we were only there a couple months.

Small world! DH was out there, working in El Cajon a couple weeks ago. Says Santee has grown big time since we lived there.

WHAT? Never eaten at Palo's? Ok, you must do brunch and dinner. I did the tea also with my girlfriend (we sent our DH's to the sports bar) and we both agreed it was 'ok' and we could pass next time. But the meals at Palo's were excellent, well worth the service fee and extra tip. The chocolate souffle was to die for (in my opinion). My plan is to go for bunch at least once and dinner twice (if they let us). :thumbsup2
OK, I will make a point of eating there at least 1x for each (dinner and brunch). I figure with 15 days on this next cruise I should have a few more opportunities to experience the magic of DCL!

No, if there was a microwave in the room, then that would be fine, but lukewarm coffee?

I am going to take my travel kettle and make some! John will go up for coffee from the machine and save on paying room service tips(!), but not too early! I can see me being around the ship on my own early mornings. It was like that at POFQ and BWV last year and I was a little:mad: then too!!!

Now tell me what wonderful husbands you all have who go up and get early morning coffee!:lmao:
Mine will :rolleyes1 but I am not sure if it is because he is wonderful or because without his coffee he is Mr GRUMPY! :lmao: I never thought of the room service idea for the mornings and am certainly going to try that. That would make me the wonderful wife since I did something so sweet for him ;)

It's 13.1 miles. The course goes through Disneyland, California Adventures, and Angel Stadium (you get to see yourself on the JumboTron). Disney characters cheer you on in the parks.

Woody

Seeing myself on the Jumbotron is NOT an incentive, Woody!:) Does sound like fun...do you get admission to the parks, or just get to wave at them while you walk through?? I looked online, but didn't find that info.

John can moan all he likes it doesn't make any difference to the amount of stuff I take!!! Going to be worse for the cruise methinks!!

I don't mind clingy little girls - they are cute! I have 4 granddaughters - none are clingy apart from one who is an attention seeker and knows how to play the game!

I just looked up and saw my beer mugs DCL style....Right after sail away my Diser friend Tigg and I got ourselves a beer (in those big mugs) and wander the ship. It was heaven....no kids, no husband, just a girl friend wandering around this totally cool place we got to call home for a week.

Oh I can't wait.....14 months is too long....

I think I need to find a filler cruise...maybe just me and DH can sneak away....hmmm my kids might just kill me for thinking that outloud....

Those are GREAT! I just brought a plain pillowcase and about 5 sharpies in pretty colors, but they used only one color per pillowcase:confused3 and like I said, I only had about 10 signatures (just the major ones and none on the back) :sad2: Maybe if I decorate it with something they might make it prettier. I love both of those. They look awesome. Where did you get the iron on's for the pillow case? did you buy them or find them on line and make them yourself? I might be bothering you for ideas as we get closer :)

Well, besides getting the coffee in the am, that sounds like my life too! :lmao: Does anyone else's DH wonder why it takes so long to pack? There he is with his little suitcase all packed and wonders why I am not done yet! :confused3 Well, I try and explain in my nicest (trying not to sound mad that he even has the nerve to ask so as to not start the vacation in tiff!) voice  sweetie, let's see, you only had to worry about packing for yourself. I, on the otherhand, am packing for myself, both DD's and all the non-clothing essentials we will need for the trip! He has this thought that the girls could fly across the country without things to do on the plane! Can you imagine, a 8yo and 5yo on a 6 hour flight with nothing to do?:scared1: Before the latest restrictions on carryon's, he imagined our family could travel for a 2 week vacation in 4 small carryon size roll on suitcases! Now, I ask, where do all my shoes go?! :lmao: And once again, an innocent topic has somehow turned back to the shoe discussion:rotfl2:

Soooooooo did NOT need to see those pics from Palo! Especially the souffle! YUMMY!!!

I MUST do Palo for dinner atleast 1 x during any of my DCL cruises - did brunch last time (prefer dinner), and can't wait to do tea this time around.

Lisa - thanks for the pics of the pillowcase and picture mat....not sure if I will do a pillowcase, but definately the picture mat.

For the MD contingency - I used to live in Montgomery Village (right off Montgomery Village Ave). I loved it there....but like FL better. My sister lives in Columbia.

I also had the pillow cases done on our first cruise but my pens were rather drab, too light in color I think. I got the fabric ones, rather than sharpies. This time sharpies.

I love the idea of making this pillow case a bit more special too, perhaps the logo and the dates. I bet we could put our heads together on this project as the time draws near...now how to remember to do it. We need a To Do list or a not for forget list. Aunty any way to add that? Or maybe it should go on the website, pj...Thoughts?

Who mentioned shoes!!!:lmao: :yay:

At least your hubby packs his own case!:yay:
