So I managed to get shoveled, which was very easy because it's already started melting. Heavy, wet stuff, but nice to see it melting already in the beautiful sunny day! I almost didn't bother, but wanted to hang out in the sun a bit, so figured I might as well shovel. :thumbsup2

Warning: Discussion of feline bodily fluids. Feel free to skip this post. :rotfl:

So, I come home from vacation last night and MIL tells me that our cat Pirate is bleeding, but she can't tell what's wrong. He's leaving little droplets of blood on her bedspread and elsewhere. I call the vet to ask what to do. The vet has me driving all over town to find aquarium gravel to put in the litter box and wants me to collect his urine and study his stools. This all sounds like so much fun, I can't even tell you. :rolleyes1

When I'm checking on him this afternoon, Pirate sneezes and sprays little drops of blood all over my bed. OK, at least I know which part of his body it's coming from. I call the vet back, only to have the office tell me she's gone for the day and can't see me til Monday. But they recommend I take the cat to the vet hospital at the university. It's considered an emergency visit, so it costs me $160 bucks just for the initial visit. :scared1: I do it anyway, cuz I love my kitties and the boys are freaking just a little and the cat is making a mess of my house. After several tests, the vet determines that Pirate has a laceration on the inside of his nose (probably from rough-housing with his brother). They close it up with surgical glue and I'm on my way $172 poorer. And this took up my entire afternoon I was supposed to be getting the house ready for Easter company. Oh, well.

Oh, and in the middle of trying to figure out what is wrong with the cat, I discover that the lovely cyclamen plant MIL has purchased to welcome us home is poisonous to cats. And it goes without saying that the kitties have been chewing on the leaves. The plant went to the neighbors.

Glad to hear Pirate is on the mend :thumbsup2 We've done the ER visit too!

We have no house plants. Of course for us it's more the mess the cats make with live plants:lmao:

Hey Lisa! Welcome back! I'm glad you all had a great time.....WOW, you did tons of cool stuff! :yay: Good to know Vanessa behaved this time....:lmao:

The wig.....oh Lisa, you missed a whole day or 2 of wig discussions! The DIS chicks are "getting wiggy" on this cruise! The west coast girls started this, so it's all their fault. Or was it Gaylean? Anyway, it's a fun new twist to our vacation! Pink wigs for the Champagne girls meet and lime green wigs for "shots around the ship night". Or I might have some of the details mixed up, the important part is: PACK A WIG! :rotfl2:

OK I had a crazy night and now I'm a lot of pages behind. I wanted to say that you can wear any color wig that is not of natural color. I got a pink one for champagne girls and green for the other day but if you already have one that is a different color you could wear that one.

BTW Gaylean is a west coast girl!

Since we have 2 rooms, would you all recommend 2 over the door shoe holders? We've never brought one before but it sounds like a great idea.

One dilemna we have right now is our 2 1/2 year old seems almost ready to move from his crib to a big boy bed. I'm hesitant to do it before the cruise as I'm afraid he will just keep getting up and coming into our cabin. Any advice? I think we'd have more space if we didn't have a crib in the boys room...we got very spoiled being in the Roy Suite on our last cruise. It was so great to have all that space. What we liked most about the suite was having full room service every morning and eating breakfast as a family on the big dining room table. We had them bring a high chair, and it worked great. Eggs, bacon, whatever we wanted. Sigh... I'm mourning my lost Cat. 1 again...

We've never had 2 cabins before though. On our DCL cruise before the last, we had cat. 4 (it was before our youngest was born). I've heard having two cabins is like having a suite without the concierge service.

Despite my lack of motivation, I managed to do dishes and am on my 2nd load of laundry. I'm hoping to tackle Tyler's room and surprise him with a spotless room when he comes home. Yes, he's in charge of cleaning his room, and usually does a good job, but over those few months where I lost my motivation for everything, I wasn't doing a good job of checking to make sure he'd cleaned it every day. It kept building up, and he'd try to clean a little every now and then, but it reached the point where it's just too overwhelming for him. He can't figure out where to put everything. He tried so hard this past week, I told him I'd help him and try to finish while he's at his dad's. He was so relieved and told me he never wants it to get so messy again. It stresses him out. The OT told me organization will be a big help in preventing sensory overload for him, so he definitely needs my help. We have lots of organizer bins in his room, the kind that has shelves of bins, so I'm going to try to get those all straightened out. He does tend to be obsessive about keeping things together that belong together, so that's a bonus. I think it's soothing for him.

OK.....off to tackle his room a bit!

Just tell them you are going to "check the weather." :rotfl:

For those of you who weren't a GS. "Check the weather" was the phrase that adults used when they went off for a smoke. You weren't allowed to smoke in front of the girls.

Our leaders always had an extra cooler taped shut with duct tape marked adults only. It was filled with candy bars and wine! Late in the night you would hear them wandering the campground giggling :lmao:

And yep, my mom was one of them!! (And my best friend's mom was one too).

Got a bottle of Sprite while out and about and saved the cap...CAN'T read the code! There's a layer of (not so) clear plastic over the part where the code is written...am I supposed to dig that out??? :confused3

When they are like that I hold them up to a light and I can usually see throught that filmy plastic them :thumbsup2

Chuck thinks we are all nuts, of course, but he desn't want to be left out.

He even wants to join the LOST BEER BOYS!!!!! He is not a joiner! But of course that includes beer...........:rolleyes1

Connie

I'm becoming more and more convinced that your Chuck and my Patrick were separated at birth. :rotfl:

I would get 2. One for each room.

Holly, impressed with your energy. Our neighbor just called and invited the boys over for an Easter egg hunt and I am questioning my energy just to get dressed and walk them over!

Well, the problem is I usually don't have any energy, so I'm forcing myself today. It's a major struggle to force myself to try to get things done, but I just can't live in such a messy house anymore. I know my mood will improve too when things are cleaned up, so that's a bit of motivation as well. I'm trying something new today....I set the timer on my microwave for 15 minutes, telling myself that if I clean that whole time or do some sort of work in the house, I can stop for a DIS break when the timer goes off. Not fun, but it seems to be working for now.

I do that too - set goals for myself, along with a reward. I'm heading to my parents for the week-end right after the Easter egg hunt. Might go visit the bunny at the mall. Although I'm sure my eldest will have the same reaction that he did at Christmas ("I don't want to sit on some strange man's lap"). I think you said at first Tyler didn't want to see the bunny, but then he came around right? I also should get some photos. Haven't got my youngest 2 year old photo yet. Also, just realized that I didn't keep the older boys' first tooth to put in their baby book. I don't know how my mom did all those things with 6 kids...suppose it might help a little not have a full-time job outside of the home. But I'm not so sure. It seems stay-at-home moms are just as busy - if not more - than me!

Did you see the links I posted? I bought the pink one with pig tails and the green genie wig LOL. I have always wanted to wear a wig too :rotfl: Maybe one day we can all get together and have a dis meet at a hair place!
So I can put you down then as wigging out? :yay:

So are you all REALLY doing this? What night? Is it on the calendar yet? If the night works, I'm game!
Lisa

Thanks...sounds like a good idea. Do you all bring them home and keep them, or leave them to have more room in the suitcase?

We lay ours in the bottom of the suitcase and bring it home. They do not take up much room.

okay, I am sure I have missed alot, but work, lodge, boys, etc have all been kicking my butt the last few days. Nan, I am still going to PM you to confirm for Friday morning coffee. I will try to catch up some time, but I am sure it will not be this weekend. I have to take my engineer's riding car (for my train) out to a shop 90 miles away to be fixed tomorrow and get back for another meeting in the early evening. Sometime over the weekend, I also need to try to catch up on work and prepare for month end closing again. Boy do I need a vacation! I will have earned the 25yo bottle I plan to get at the duty free shop at the end of this fiscal year! Ok time to move the laundry and try to get some sleep for the drive tomorrow.

Steve. Do you work at an airport?
