Just back from a week in Las Vegas. We had a terrific time and visited the newest hotels/casinos: Palazzo (opulent), and Planet Hollywood (trendy, formerly the Aladdin and the Desert Passages shopping mall).
We saw "Spamalot" (hillarious), "Le Reve" (astounding), and of course "dueling pianos" (the Magic used to have dueling pianos -- oh, how we miss it!).
On our last visit, we saw "Phantom" (excellent -- even after seeing productions in L.A. [starring Michael Crawford], London, and Broadway) and "The Beatles Love" (fab!). The time before that, we saw "KA" (my favorite Cirque du Soleil show) and Elton John's "Red Piano" (God save the Queen).
The good news: DW and I went to the fitness center six mornings in a row.
The bad news: It was all negated by too superb food, especially the buffet at the Wynn.
All in all, it was good practice for the cruise, except there were no towel animals.
We had hoped to meet with kulkatt, exchanged a few e-mails, and will meet on the ship instead.
To Deb and anyone else going to L.V. after the cruise: you might want to check on buying show tickets in advance. Many shows get sold out.
