Ok, our national TV station is airing a 2 part mini series Called Trojan Horse, here is the outline.

"Paul Gross is Tom McLaughlin, a politician who watches from the sidelines as Canada relinquishes sovereignty and joins the United States. The former prime minister refuses to lose his country without a fight. The ensuing global political thriller unfolds in THE TROJAN HORSE, a two-part, four-hour miniseries, premiering on CBC Television, Sunday, March 30, at 8 p.m., and concluding Sunday, April 6, at 8 p.m.

Set in modern day North America, McLaughlin watches as a majority of Canadians vote to join the United States of America. The Canadian flag comes down and the country is redrawn into six states. Backed by three powerful European intelligence agencies, McLaughlin runs as an independent for president of the newly formed United States with his ex-wife, Texas Governor Mary Miller (Martha Burns) as his running mate.

Veteran British journalist Helen Madigan (Greta Scacchi) uncovers a shocking plot to undermine democracy in the U.S. Believing McLaughlin is an honest broker, she looks to him to expose the corruption in the current administration but instead, discovers a diabolical scheme that will unravel families and nations."

Should be an interesting program.

I'd like to see it, though why Canadians would want to give up their health benefits and other Canadian benefits is beyond me.

We did afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian during our October trip with the forever lovely Monica. We really enjoyed it.

I think Monica really enjoyed it, despite the fact that we were there and therefore lowered the tone of the whole affair.

You can pack a corkscrew or a swiss army knife in your CHECKED LUGGAGE, but not your CARRY ON LUGGAGE!

In the printed 'Travel Booklet' we received for our cruise last year, it states, "Zero weapons policy. Firearms (including ammunition), knives (including dive knives), swords, daggers, or any other types of weapons are not allowed onboard, under any circumstances. If a guest has any of these or similar items in their baggage or on their person, they will be required to surrender the item(s) to Port Security until their return to Port Canaveral."

A Swiss Army knife is definitely a knife, so presumably is not permitted.
DH would not want to run the risk of it being confiscated and possibly not getting it back.

Oh I just remembered the Queen Mary has an great champagne brunch. We will be there on Sunday. It is like 37.00 for adults and 12.00 for kids. You could also tour the ship.

I can recommend the Queen Mary brunch. It is excellent.

It's the reason we were rather disappointed with the Palo brunch.

Mine doesn't.

But we do get Maundy Thursday afternoon off. And I took the morning as flexi so am having a 5-day break this weekend.

Oh great, it's supposed to snow. That in itself doesn't bother me because it's only supposed to be 3-6 inches. Almost not enough to bother shoveling. The problem is that means my internet won't be working, as always happens when it snows or rains or is windy.

I cannot remember for the life of me......when you take DCL transportation from a WDW resort...do they take care of your bags or do we have to drop them off somewhere when we check in?

You leave them in your hotel room by a certain time, they are collected from there and magically reappear outside your stateroom that afternoon.

Or at least, that's how it works at POR.

So that day it started out warm and sunny then came clouds, and rain, then snow and later in the evening it hailed! All in one day

Sounds pretty much like today! We've had snow, sun, rain and sleet, but don't think we've had the hail. Yet.

the first of my birthday treats - afternoon tea at Betty's. Yummy. It is a bit of a posh cafe and we have been a few times, but the actual 'afternoon tea' is always too expensive - hence the treat as I have always wanted to indulge.

Is that the same Betty's as in York? Yum!

Sorry, I've lost track, but when exactly is your birthday?

Oh, yes, it's great there!
Our fabulous fifites group....the FABS for short goes there every December. (you have to be over 50 years old to be in the group)

Also, The Ritz Carlton near my house does a lovely "English High Tea" and it's less expensive than the Grand Flroidan.

For my mom's 50th birthday I did the high tea for her and 13 others at the Ritz Carlton here....it was nice but not something I would want to do again.

I spent the past week watching the Borne series on my ipod back to back, on the way to work while riding the subway. A great way to start the day and finish it up. Sigh.....
