Oh they'll count anyone... I even asked it I could come and I've only ever been a girl scout!!!

We're not proud. We'll drink with anyone. :drinking1 Especially if they are paying!

Even, on occasion, the enemy. (Ever seen Ice Cold in Alex?)

Yes, I had a little fun with the Google map! I check in from time to time, but you guys talk so much, it's hard to keep up!

A reintroduction - I am Brian, and am sailing with my friend Debbi. We are in the same stateroom that we had during the 2005 Westbound Repo - 6085 (The same cabin Holly thought she had booked when the cruise opened up last January). I will be turning 41 on May 18th, and Debbi will be turning the big 4 0 the next day.

I am so looking forward to the cruise. Even have my calendar ready:

The last cruise I took 4300 pictures. I think with the extra day, I should be able to break that mark.

:woohoo:

Hello, glad you popped in. I don't think we are as busy as we used to be so you might like to stay this time as you have so much you could tell us and help us with. :)

ugh, sometimes my sister annoys me. I was complaining about money, which I seem to be doing a lot of lately...and she says well, if you didn't take all these trips you would have some money so don't sit and complain to me about it....I said what trips, she says well ESPN weekend and the cruise you could have cancelled....I hung up on her. She is 23 living at home with only her car payment to speak of.
She just ticked me off. Doesn't help that I am not feeling well.

The only things good I can think of at the moment are that I get my state pension(only small as I didn't pay full stamps, but a pension nontheless!!), free prescriptions( ) and some free bus travel(off peak).

Marilyn

I'm now looking forward to you having to explain "full stamps" to our US friends! :lmao:

Although I've always paid full stamp and have worked full-time since leaving school, I won't get a pension in my own right. By the time I'm 65 (it's 65 for me, not 60), Patrick will already be in receipt of his pension so we will just get a joint pension. That really irritates me! We've both paid, so we should both get our individual pensions.

Susie...you are just down the hall from us. We are in 7625 and Holly is right next door to us. not sure which side though.:)

 I know I will be down the hall from someone on here - I just want to know my room number like you do. :lmao:

do most of you pack for your husbands? How many shorts, pants are you bringing? I have three swimsuits for John, I think that is enough.

DH perfers to pack for himself! And I love it that way - I have enough to worry about trying to remember all my stuff!

Is storytellers a resturant? I thought that it called a lady who read the story with the book. Now I realise it is for dinner/meals!! Anyway, I have send email to dcl about interpreters, meals times and gty!! I have not heard from them yet!!Scottishwee35

Storytellers is connected to the Grand Californian and DL. When my wife first took me there, I kept waiting for someone to come out and read a story! Wife had to explain that the "stories" are told through the murals that decorate the restaurant.

As you may have read on previous postings, we received our room assignment about two weeks ago, just before the 75 day mark. Our dining time is still up in the air. We show as early main dining, hoping to change to late seating. Do you know if DCL has an interpreter on board their ships? When I first went into ministry, I had a basic knowledge of Sign, but have forgotten almost all (over 30 years ago). Always regretted not following through on the classes.

Check this out, very interesting

I won't say who I heard this from but it seems that 2 engines on the Magic have been having issues for some time now. There has been talk of what they will do prior to the repo cruise in May. The idea of sending the Wonder in it's place has been tossed around while they fix the Magic, which would cause the loss of a one or two Wonder cruises. Or canceling the last 7 day cruise and fixing the Magic prior to the repo. Either way they have to repair it before sending it West, because there is no way it can handle much more in the condition it's in.

We love going to Storytellers. Food and service is wonderful. Never had a problem walking in for dinner. But the cruise ends on a holiday, best to get reservations.

Ordered off menu once, but now just do the buffet. DS always wants to make his own choices. Last time was anniversary last year. DS on his own went to the hostess and told them, they gave us anniversary pins, disney dollars (which had not yet, at that time, been released to the public) and desert with candle! We are at DL once or twice a month, and go to Storytellers only if we are celebrating something special.

Joseph

Yes, yes, make a ressie... we've seen many a line at Storytellers.

Is storytellers a resturant? I thought that it called a lady who read the story with the book :lmao:

Now I realise it is for dinner/meals!!

Anyway, I have send email to dcl about interpreters, meals times and gty!! I have not heard from them yet!!

Nan - I am not sure if I told you before about the dress. Olivia got the dress last saturday and it is lovely dress and I am glad that it was not too tight, wee bit big and nice!! She will wear it on the Cruise:thumbsup2

Scottishwee35

Deborah, please send me as many questions for DL as you'd like and I will call them and ask for you. It's a local call for me. PM me with your hotel and any pertinent info and I'll get you the answers. Kelly

This is the rotation I've always found to be true.

Both cruises we've been 8.30 LAP.
I think I'd rather be 8.00 so less chance of falling asleep in my dinner.
And at least one formal in Lumieres would be nice, which LAP won't get.
But DH and I have agreed not to request a particular time, just go with whatever we get. Hope I don't regret that.

Perhaps we'll be the weird tablemates that Ian is hoping to avoid! :rotfl:

Yes it is on PJ's website. You can mark where you live.

I certainly pack for John, but not sure yet what he will be taking. He doesn't sunbathe, we're not going on any other beach but CC and not sure we will ever get in the pool, so one swimsuit will probably do!!!

Shorts, well 3/4 pairs. His suit and a 2/3 of long pairs of trousers because of all the evening meals!!!

We also are not sunbathers, have never been in the pools on the ship. I will take at least 2 swimsuits for each of us though since we do need them for the Rainforest and I plan to go daily! :cloud9: Dennis also does not wear shorts :confused3 so you will see him around the ship in his khaki pants taking photos, playing cards, etc.

Thanks all for your replies about Storytellers. I think we will book there.

Such tight turnarounds for cruises when work needs to be done.

Do I need anything else to worry about!!

Look on the bright side, they want everything ship shape before the PC cruise. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: Oh Marilyn, I do pink and purple EVERYTHING! In fact, at work people just laugh at my pink paperclips. The men are just thrilled when I give their work to them with pink paperclips attached. ;)

My colleagues think I'm crazy because I use purple staples which I buy when I'm in the US and can find a Container Store. (It's more the fact that I actually pay for them, I think, than the colour!)

So NOT keeping up......will continue to try.

Mary & Patrick - so glad to hear you're back safely, but sorry you ended up getting sick. I really enjoyed our meet, and can't wait to see you again in May. I didn't want to post any pics w/o your ok - so if you want me to I will, if not....I will be the only one to be able to find you on the 10th :lmao:

Lisa - sorry about the update on Frank.....continued prayers to you & your family.

Nan - loved the pic of the kids.

Carol - loved the pic of the feeder w/ all those cardinals - a sure sign of spring :thumbsup2

John (& the others that posted the snowy pics) - no offense, but better you than me! There's a reason I moved from MD to FL!!!

I know I'm forgetting TONS of things that I wanted to comment on, and tons of people that I want to say HI to......please take no offense...love you all!

I can't believe that thread. Demanding a refund and threatening to sue for missing CC?

They need to read the contract that they signed before getting on board - it states that ports of call are subject to change and under the discression (don't know how to spell) of the Captain. Technically they could spend each moment out to see and never hit an island if needed.
