Hey Woody,
How was the get-together at DL today?
Had a lovely time with taysmom and edna mode.

Wonderful company, gorgeous weather, and very short to non-existent lines.

Went on the Jungle Cruise, Indiana Jones (twice), Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, Matterhorn, and Star Tours -- all before 11:30.

Wow! Sounds great! Wish I could have been there. Spring at DL is so beautiful!:flower3:

So, Flat Stanley and I went to visit Woody and Steph for a short visit to DL this morning. I took some pics of the restaurants that everyone was asking about:

Flat Stanley discussing the new Nemo ride with his buddies.

Now for everyone going to DL after the cruise just imagine those pictures with 20 times the number of people! :rotfl2:

Deb,

The Mini Navigators are a great idea. I also think there should be a way to share cabin updates after the Mini Navs are printed. Cabins could change for a variety of reasons. For example, on one cruise we were upgraded after we left home and before we arrived at the port. I've read about families who had to change cabins because of plumbing or heating issues.

If we had a whiteboard on someone's door, updates could be posted. Also, any scheduling changes could be posted there, such as the time or location of the group DIS picture. Linda could say in the Mini Nav, "For updates, see the whiteboard at cabin ####."

Woody

Great idea and also the longest post I think I have ever seen from Woody.

Hey Marilyn,
My birthday is the 23rd--of May. I'll be 59! You can let me know when I meet you what I have to look forward to!:hippie:

The only things good I can think of at the moment are that I get my state pension(only small as I didn't pay full stamps, but a pension nontheless!!), free prescriptions( ) and some free bus travel(off peak).

Just thought I would post some pictures from yesterday and today.

Our bird feeder being over run by Cardinals. Later I got mad because Grakels (big, ugly blackbirds) and red wing blackbirds moved in and took over.

The snow in our front yard was at least twice as high as Mickey.

And finally a couple taken of our back yard today. Thank goodness the sun is shining. It is supposed to be 50 and rain by Thursday.

Carol

Lovely photos Carol. The bird table one is super!!! We don't have those birds and they look spectacular there.

you have been 20+ pages chatty! What is going on?

We're getting excited about the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

Marilyn, you beat me :scared1: And you are still using Mult-quote :scared1:

I know and that is a bit embarrassing! I have to multi quote in the morning as there are so many posts to reply to!

watching the Rock.....Sean Connery......yum! Yum, yum, YUM!

Love that film.

Nan - love the tulips! We have tons of stuff in our yard....but one lady stole stole some lemons from DH's lemon tree....he was watering the yard at the time and he hosed her down!!!!!!

don't mess with any of his plants, ask, and yes, he will give you anything but steal.....

 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Maybe because you're not hoping to receive cool firetruck/emergency vehicle playsets or GI Joe stuff or other awesome toys! :rotfl:

Depends on the GI though!!!;)

You can move us it you want. Montana, Missoula, East Missoula preferably! ;)

I wish real moving was as easy!

I was trying to read and catch up. I fell asleepwhile reading. The warm laptop on my lap.....lulls me to sleep. :lmao: :lmao:

Frank was very sick today and the doctor decided to send him back to the hospital. Don has him in the emergency room. They are thinking he may be in liver failure.

Just :grouphug: and I hope things look better for you all soon.

Woody

are we over thinking the whole cabin thing? I have been on several cruises participating with DIS boarders and there are always cabin changes, always!

Well it seems like we are going to need that main contact person afterall. Susie are you still up for volunteering? We would give you the master list and you would take calls from people with changes and then write those changes on a whiteboard outside of your cabin door. If you still want to say yes, please let us know your SR#. If not, it's ok too, no explanation necessary.

Many thanks to Woody and V for letting us know what to be prepared for. This is my 6th DCL cruise, but only my first one with all you DISers. I'm sure it's going to be my favorite one and I can't wait to get it started!

I know the service stories were a ways back, but if you'll bear with me, I have one to share. This is about my uncle. He was a gunner during WWII. During a mission over Italy the plane malfunctioned, went into a nosedive, and he was ordered to jump. The plane recovered and flew back to the base, but my uncle was stuck behind enemy lines. He went to a farmhouse and asked for help. For six weeks, various families hid him in their houses and barns, moving him every couple of weeks, so he--and they--wouldn't get caught. This was toward the end of the war, and the Americans had finally reached a town nearby. So the local people who had been helping him finally were able to reunite him with the troops.

Fast forward 50 years. A man who was just three years old when his family helped hide my uncle tracked down my mother trying to find my uncle. Sadly, my uncle had passed away in 1979. But we struck up a friendship with this family and we all travelled to Italy to visit them in 1999. They showed us all around the village and pointed out the different hiding places. We stopped in one home, and an 80-year-old woman told us tales of my uncle and SAID HOW GRATEFUL THEY WERE TO THE AMERICANS. She said my uncle was a great man. It just made us all cry. Those people who helped hide and care for a missing soldier were the heroes.

Well, thanks for listening. I was so inspired by your stories, I just had to share mine.

Another great tear jerker of a story. Thanks for sharing. :)

Very true. And most of my family lives in Kalamazoo, so they get lake effect from the other side. Kzoo seems to be the cutoff point from that side, so I guess I'm in the lucky middle. :thumbsup2

I never knew Kalamazoo was a real place!:rotfl:

Sorry to hear Frank has taken a turn for the worse again. He sure has had a bad time.

I agree. I love gray hair!

I'm not keen on mine!:sad2:

Welcome to the thread! I am Making_Memories (mom) and I am cruising with a DD 9 years old and a DS 4 years old and a nanny/helper so we can all do things we like this cruise!

Lisa/DL5.....I'm so sorry to hear the news about Frank. My heart goes out to you. Sending lots of hugs and prayers to you and the family. Don't let this change your plans to go to WDW with the girls. You need the time away.  :cloud9: :cloud9:

So I'm back from the mouse house. Here's the update...
Nemo was cute. IMHO..not worth an 1 1/2 wait glad I did it first thing sat. morning, but cute nonetheless. The competition ended. Varsity didn't make finals, but JV did and they got 6th place. Not bad for their first attempt. Next year, they'll be better!
The LA traffic always suprises me. I forget that it doesn't matter what time of day or night, it's always trafficy!
I'm glad I got my disneyland run out of the way. It was a beautiful so cal weekend. Much nicer than nor cal! I have a nice sunburn! Hopefully it'll turn into a tan. As stated earlier I met Woody and Kelly (edna mode) at disneyland, briefly. We went on some rides together and I got to see the lanyard sample in person...it's cool. I'm glad I ordered it!
Now, I am home. My kitty is very happy to see me. I realized I left my sunglass case and phone charger in the hotel. What a bummer! PS...love the LA gas prices. Saved $10 bucks filling up down there.

Hope you all have a good night.
Steph

I agree about Nemo but hey everyone should do it once.
Hey though............ our NorCal weather was ok it was mid 70s here today nice day to be out and about selling cookies. :rotfl:

Good Morning Marilyn and good evening Marr. I'm awake early this morning.....so here I am.

I guess I really should go to bed but I am trying to catch up doing a couple loads of laundry I put off due to cookie sales this weekend. So here I sit reading and responding while my clothes are drying. :)
