May 10, 2008 Ship of Thieves...May 2008 Repo Thread...Part 13

We are on Deck 7 too. Cabin 7032. I tried to follow this thread earlier this year, but I can't keep up with you all! I can't believe we leave two weeks from today - YEAH!!

For this trip it will just be my Mom (Bonnie, Age 72 and me, Donna Age 51). Normally we take assorted nieces and nephews along on our Disney trips so it just seems like something is missing right now.

Tomorrow I am going over to my Mom's house help her start packing. I was going to try hard to get by with just one large piece of luggage since we are flying Northwest (they start charging for the 2nd piece of luggage on May 1) but I don't think that is going to happen. The pile of clothes I have started is already huge.

We both received our cruise docs earlier this week.

We are staying Friday night at Beach Club (DVC member). After the cruise we are staying on night at the Disneyland Hotel (also points). We are taking DCL bus from resort to port and vice versa.

I am looking forward to cruising with you all!

Welcome Donna! We have a pretty big group of folks in your age range. And Michelle (TinkRules) is bringing her Mom who will be celebrating her 76th birthday on the cruise.

I can relate to your son so well. I was into public speaking as a child and I got beat for first place three years in a row to the same girl. I was so mad! But, now I have a Ph.D. and she only has a bachelor degree. I WIN!! (Just kidding)

It's hard doing that downgrade though. I wanted a perfect trip because I knew that this was a once in a lifetime.....so I went BIG and loved what I had booked. Reality sets in and things have to change. I'm thankful that I'll still get to go, but it does sadden me to give up my perks. I would go for the GC if at all possible. It's a once in a lifetime memory. It's worth it.

I know, but really, I am sure the hotel is gorgeous itself...but think of all the other things I can do with that money! I just know we are going to commando the parks for the time we are there and I really can't justify that amount of money...plus, I could use that for rebooking onboard or Samantha's birthday trip in October!

I feel left out...on our last cruise everyone seemed to be on deck 6!! Now it's 7! I am way down below!

Had a huge scare today.

Hubby forwarded an email from his Store Manager that it was very important that he met with her today regarding vacation requests in May.

Long story short, they just decided to move Women's June 1/2 Yearly to start on May 21st. SM was asking all management vacation requests to be rescheduled!!!

To keep the story short, he still is able to take vacation time.

This is great but also a huge bummer - now I am going to miss 1/2 Yearly!!

and the cool thing is they have a Pizza Tracker. They will tell me when it is prepped, then in the oven, then the box and then out for delivery.

How cool is that?

Hi, I just got my fish extender via USPS. It is beautiful!!!! I don't know if I will have time to personalize it or not, but it is pretty enough without any thing else. I love the extra safety insurance measure so they don't "swim" away. Thanks again...Vicki

Vicki, your local fabric and craft stores may have some Disney iron-on appliques that would be simple and quick. I also found some small foam letters with peel and stick backs at the craft store that you could use to personalize them.

Sad news....I had to give up my hotel on the ocean in LA....sorry Woody, not in your neighborhood anymore, but we can still do the Cheesecake Factory for a meal together.

Cruise Question.....

What is the actual time that you can pull into the port and start dropping off luggage and get through security? I keep getting different answer.

This weekend is Greek Easter.....it's a big holiday for the Greeks.....bigger than Christmas. This will


John has been at the hospital all week with Manual. Manual is really improving and is very responsive. he still can not talk and it is very frustrating for both John and Manual. John just mentioned last night that this is the first year his entire life that he has not been to church any night of holy week. he is going to try to go tomorrow night but will depend on how tired he is.

Oh yes, definately a midwest thing. It took me a couple of my childhood years to train her (hehe) to put JUST MUSTARD on my bologna sandwich.
However, I still love white bread, butter and dill pickle sandwiches!
