My 6th grader got a couple of great age appropriate books on Panama Canal....and they actually didn't put her to sleep (always a plus).

Her birthday is the 19th...what dining are you? early or late...

The best thing my son's teacher said today is that she would waive all the homework for the 2 weeks! It helps that one week is STAR testing, so nothing to waive that week. But the following week, she said he can just do this report on the Panama Canal and he would be covered! So happy about that. Did find out that they have their Gold Rush trip (2 night overnighter) the Wed-Friday after we get back. So it will be a little rushed for him to get back into school, and then go off for that camp. But it sure could be worse!

We have a 5 year old boy. He will be in K-grade next year. I'm the sole female in my family! 4th grade, 2 grade, pre-k, and 2 year old.

That would be a lot better! Oh well...I have to make sure I have his bag packed, sleeping bag, etc all ready. Because I know when we get home, I will not want to focus on that!

Does anyone ever get blue thinking about that day when it will be all over?

The one I mentioned is The Story of The Panama Canal by R. Conrad Stein. It is only about 30 pages long, and atleast interesting. I learned alot, anyway. Ha. There is also one by DK books, but I couldn't get it at our library.

sorry to spoil...i won't spoil the rest, although they weren't on my radar. Honestly, the only one whose names I remember are carly and brooke..the 2 good girls and the david kid whose really good...but I won't tell you what happened to them. I will say that I cried for a sec while watching...but I am a crier...after you watch, you'll know when....

Really not. Strange I know.

I haven't been hungry, but for sure do not have normal energy. During Pilates today, I thought I was going to fall off the machine. Very weak. I have to change it up a bit. I went to Whole Foods as my friend told me I should try to get some Spirulina, Chlorella, and Bee Pollin. He said to get tablets of them all. Well, I saw a powder of it all mixed so got it. Added it to my cucumber/spinach/celery/apple drink. Oh my goodness, it tasted bad. Wasted that drink, which was sad as it takes a lot of energy to make them.

Anyway, still not sure what to say. I find it strange that I'm not hungry.

I think sometimes people put results in white or something so that if people want to read, they can highlight it. I don't know they show enough to know who you were referring to...I get into it more once they are down to the final 12. I will probably watch it this week-end.

So how do projects work for kids? Is it "ok" for me to do the powerpoint, and have the kids enter in the data? Or do they need to do it from scratch? One thing that might be fun is to have it be a group project, so when each child presents, they can also share about the other children they met on board (where they are from, etc). It would be pretty cool - first slide could list the children involved with the report...probably can't have the number be too large. I'm sure Lori's 4th grader might want to get involved too.

This will be fun!

I read what Steph wrote and I agree. I think all our kids could add a page or so and make it a cool memory for them too.

Anyway, I hope to atleast get in a little time on the ship and wonder if anyone would be interested. Keep in mind i am a first time 5k-er in April.....

I am a runner-wanna-be, who is turning 40 this year, and I promised myself I would run the Peachtree 10K before 40....ok, so i am often a little last minute. Anyway, I hope to atleast get in a little time on the ship and wonder if anyone would be interested. Keep in mind i am a first time 5k-er in April.....

I do a run/walk combo and we have said that we would organize a group who wants to meet to run/walk deck 4. We'll organize that a little closer to the cruise. You are welcome to join if you are a morning person
