I did the same thing. I ordered one from Shirley also for Jamie's birthday cruise last year when she turned 15. I thought it was a lot of money for what we got also. What I did last cruise was I ran to the room and had pre-made a card from Mickey and it had a charm bracelet and then each night while Jamie was in the Teen Loft I put a charm on her pillow from "Mickey" so when she came in at 2 a.m. each night she looked on her pillow before going to bed. Mickey told her in the card with the bracelet to look on her pillow each night for a gift to go with the theme for the day. It was alot of fun and I didn't spend anywhere near what I did for the basket!

I love that idea. I will have to steal it. I am going to do the pillowcase again because my girls still sleep on them every night and I have to pry it away just to wash them.

Do you sit at the same place each night for dinner or who ever gets there first they choose where they sit? Last cruise we usually tried to give the tablemates the better view because we had been there before. I want to do the proper thing.

When we are with a larger group, we try to move around each night so as to be able to visit with everyone over the course of the trip.

If you happen to have any extra maps of the theme parks could you please bring them to me on the ship so I won't be so lost. I'm only going to be there for a couple of days and I will be trying to get in as much as we can. I do not need maps of Disney World, been there many times.

Also has anyone ever been on one of the Hollywood tours?

We plan to be at DL prior to the cruise, so we could pick up a few extra maps and bring with us. Will you be at the DTD meet on the 9th?

We dropped the motorhome at the dealer this morning. They said we had a year to check it out, bring it in and get any thing that is not quite right fixed. We had just a small list, took it in, they said they would like to keep it 3 WEEKS! Whoa! Luckily we have no trips planned. The service dept said they have sold so many that their backlog went way up in the serv. dept. That is a good thing for them. Surprising to me that RVs are selling that good. :confused3

Especially in the middle of winter.

I hat elooking for cars...I found the exact Expedition I want (captains chairs in the 2nd row) but it's a 2003. Kind of would like a 2005 or newer.

We are bringing binoculars. Mugs and glasses are cute, but I don't want to have to pack them. Cigars are out, we still have some from DGS birth.

He likes craisins, so that's an idea.

Maybe a pack of cards and a soduko book.

Fodor's or Frommers Mexico may be a good idea as well.

If you do not live wear it is sunny, you wil find it very bright - we are in florida and we pack a crushable hat - one of the ones you find in the sporting stores or catalogues that also protects your neck is a great idea. Trust me (esp. for out Scottish friends) if you get burned at CC - it will not be fun for the next few days. So toss a hat into the bag.

I presume you have sunglasses - if not toss them in - or if you do -- do you have the sunglass strap holders - sorta geeky but they could go into the bag.

Thanks for the reminder on the binoculars - we forgot them last cruise. I made a big note on my list to take these.

I gave DH the "Path to the Seas" book recommended on the private site. Was he hever happy - Thanks...others could add this, but I took the last copy at our bookstore.:rotfl:

THANK YOU, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

On our last cruise I took a lanyard of pins that I no longer cared a lot about. There was one 11 year old girl at our dinner table. She and her mother were from Mexico, knew limited English but did their best to communicate with us. I asked her if she was going to get some pins and she said her Mother said they were too expensive. I put a lanyard over hear head and transferred my expendable pins to her lanyard. The look on her face was PRICELESS.

AHH--a new shirt design:

A collection of pins that sit in a bag $ ??
A collection of lanyards that hang on a hook $ ??
The look on a young girl's face when she is given them all--PRICELESS

How sweet!!!!!:flower3:

I love the Expeditions. All though I have been having nightmares about them because some lady rammed into me with one a couple of weeks ago. Luckily I was in a big truck so no major damage and just minor injuries.

OK LADIES!!! (AND GENTS...)

I NEED SOME HELP!!!

MOM'S 76TH BDAY IS MAY 13TH... A SEA DAY

AND

I WAS HOPING THAT PERHAPS A FEW OF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US IN THE DINING ROOMS FOR LUNCH

NOTHING MAJOR... JUST LUNCH... AND SOME DRINKS... AND MAYBE A CAKE IF I CAN FIND ONE...

PM ME IF YOU MIGHT LIKE TO JOIN US...

THANKS!!!

Michelle - Here is another idea that might be fun....

Those who cannot join for lunch could still send a card - then you could dump the entire basket on the table at lunch - from the entire "couting fish club" . I'm game if you agree.

That is a great idea. If she has a fish finder we could all put them in there also.

Sure - for my Mother's 80th we took her to WDW - (gee is that a surprise to this group?) and I mailed requests to all her friends to send a card to my house (and one to her if they normally did). This was in lieu of a party because she hates those. It also allowed all the relatives (they are in England) to participate. It was the first time I had more than 100% RSVP - as some folks told others. I then put all the cards into a scrapbook for her.

If we did this for your mom we'd have to post our screen name - or cabin number so she would know who we are.

I don't know, he's just a diehard Miller lite fan I suppose. I personally think it tastes like pee. :lmao: I had a sip of his once and never again!

I am frantically trying to cathc up before we lose this section too but I have to respnde to this coment -

When was the last time you tasted pee :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well, I am now caught up - at least from this morning. Not sure if I will post over the weekend, if not I will see you on the next thread.

have a great weekend.

Wow - sounds like me - in Sep of '06, went on the 11-Night SC - sat at a table of 14, turns out that I hit it off with 2 women at the table - and one sat way at the other end of the table. But since then, DisneySweetie and I have communicated almost everyday. Heck I even went to FL in May of last year - Mother's Day weekend to spend time with her and some other friends and we ended up doing the EB Trans-Atlantic together. Our "first girl outing together."

So yes people - pixiedust: does happen. And I can only give DIS the credit - had it not been for this board - I would probably not have meet them or stayed as friendly with them. Pam and my motto? Two Peas in a Pod are as thick as thieves! :thumbsup2

That cruise was a lucky one for us, too. I started emailing with Mommaluvsdis after talking with her on the boards. We ended up linking with them and some others for dinner. They live in LA and we have become good friends, calling and emailing on a regular basis. Went to WDW and a 7 night with them in Sept/Oct of last year and are planning on going to St. Thomas with them next year. They were going to come on this cruise but things came up. We have decided we are soul sisters. There really must have been a lot of pixiedust: going around on that cruise. I am sure there will be a lot on this cruise too. :flower3:

When we were on the 11 night we changed seats almost every night since there were 11 of us and we wanted to get to know each better.

I always hated that. Tell me something I don't know.

And/or try living with my EFFICIENT metabolism where everything is digested quickly and saved for future famines. (read "I get hungry fast and carry it with me for a long time.")

Jan :earsgirl:

& she did it AFTER I ate lunch!!! I gotta tell you... I really love my mom!!! (I am taking her on the cruise with me... but except for that and her checking to see if the tags are tucked in on my shirts (usually in mixed company or while I'm doing something like cooking...) I give...

About my friend, I am sitting and thinking what I am doing. I think I go and buy a card 'Thinking of You' and send it to my friend who lost the baby yesterday.:sad1: As her frist baby, why her? she is lovely and happy woman. Life is so cruel!

Scottishwee35

Just let her know that you care - nothing is going to lessen her pain except time. But having friends makes it alot easier...

Patty fingers, it's a line from favorite movie "The Quiet Man"

Which we memorize at an early age and must quote while we watch the movie every St. Pats Day...

I saw my mom over Christmas. She commented on my recent weight loss by saying " You can really tell you've lost weight, you can see it in your face. When your face was fuller you had less wrinkles" :faint:

Yeah, I get the you can see it in your face all the time... I usually see it in my hips...:lmao: my stomach, My thighs... :rotfl:

:scared1:
We were going on a cruise. Our stateroom was the oddest layout of any room I have ever seen in any place. It was not cleaned up, the beds were unmade, food wrappers were lying around, empty wineglasses abounded, a cigar butt was on top of a dresser and there was a cheese tray sitting on a table that had been there long enough for the cheese to get crusty and all the crackers were gone.

There were three doors to the room and people kept walking in the two that connected to a party room and used our room for a place to chat or snack. In spite of this my sons were sleeping. I had no idea where my Daughter-in-law was.

When I tried to get someone to assist me, I discovered people on deck, in the dark, lining up to get off for an excursion through a factory. It made sense at the time, but I think it was a factory that made ICEBERGS. Children were getting separated from their parents and no one seemed to mind except me.

I could not find DH no matter where I looked.

I do not want to cruise on THAT line again!!

Jan :earsgirl:

Well, that sure beats my 'forgot my passport and documents' dream! :scared1:

YUP-:thumbsup2 -"HALF-WAY DECENT" it is on normal days.
Then when I get dressed up for an event I get a lot of reactions because I
:rotfl2: :rotfl: "CLEAN UP GOOD":rotfl2: :rotfl:

. We had inside staterooms in Dec and she brought a small fan that she clipped on the cupboard door. The air flow helped her from feeling panicky. She has been in enclosed spaces before and found this helped.

Yep, I'm on the lookout for a new 4 inch fan to bring along...comes in handy when blowdrying hair and putting on makeup on those humid days too! :thumbsup2
